2 Minimum supervisin Adequate adult supervisin must be prvided. A brad range f variables will affect yur decisin abut what cnstitutes adequate supervisin, fr example: nature f the activity cnducted number f students/size f grups, if mre than ne grup needs f students and their expected capabilities (i.e. experience, cmpetence, fitness) the leaders experience planned duratin f the activity suitability and availability f equipment envirnmental and weather cnditins difficulties/distance/cnditin f the venue/site f the activity (e.g. trails, vehicle tracks, rads) remteness f the activity likelihd f leader becming incapacitated r separated frm participants. If an adult ther than a registered teacher is engaged fr instructin, a teacher shuld be present t take verall respnsibility. Blue Card requirements must be adhered t. Please prvide infrmatin n supervisin: A registered teacher alng with ther adults will be wrking n the Grup Challenge Adventure Curse. There may be up t 4 small grups. A registered teacher will supervise the activity, and will prvide training and written guidelines fr visiting teachers and parents in the safe use f lw rpes elements. Minimum activity-specific qualificatins fr supervisrs Relevant qualificatins will depend n the nature f the activity, but as a minimum yu shuld cnsider: that there are sufficient adults with current First Aid qualificatins including Cardi Pulmnary Resuscitatin (CPR) r ready access t first aid facilities, including qualified persnnel if perating mre than ne hur away frm Emergency Services, current Remte Area First Aid depending n the nature f the activity, cmpetence may be sufficient fr the activity leader rather than a frmal qualificatin. A teacher/leader culd demnstrate a reasnable level f cmpetence by tw r mre f the fllwing: knwledge f the activity and the assciated hazards and risks experience (i.e. previus invlvement) in undertaking the activity demnstrated ability and/r expertise t undertake the activity pssessin f qualificatins related t the activity. if the activity is being cnducted by external leaders, btain a cpy f relevant qualificatins and risk management infrmatin. Please prvide infrmatin n the leader s/supervisr s relevant qualificatins r cmpetence: Current first aid qualificatins including Cardi Pulmnary Resuscitatin (CPR) r ready access t first aid facilities including qualified persnnel. Depending n the nature f the activity, this may include: First Aid kit (including sufficient and suitable bandages, ice packs, etc as apprpriate) cmmunicatin equipment e.g. phne line at lcatin, mbile phne, satellite phne, whistle/marine whistle, walkie talkie/uhf/vhf radi, PLB (persnal lcatr beacn) drinking water (students shuld nt share drinking cntainers) sun safety equipment if utdrs (hat, sunscreen, shirt, shade, etc) apprpriate clthing (cnsider weather cnditins if utdrs) injury management prcedure (including head injuries where this is a pssibility) in place suitable persnal prtective equipment all equipment and facilities shuld cmply with relevant safety standards.
