3 1.3 Review methdlgy The review was cnducted by a team f three reviewers. 4 2. Executive summary 2.1 Key findings Students, staff and parents speak well f the schl. The tne f the schl is calm and appears psitive and friendly. Many schl staff speak with pride and passin abut the schl and the fact that they had been assciated with the schl fr many decades. Members f the schl cmmunity interviewed believe that the schl has the ptential fr cntinued imprvement. The schl has a brad agenda fr 2015 which features the imprvement f student utcmes in English and mathematics, the implementatin f the Australian Curriculum (AC), staff develpment and perfrmance and cmmunity cnfidence. There schl is yet t develp a narrw and explicit imprvement plan t impact significantly n classrm practice. Plans fr imprvement appear t have been develped with little engagement f staff and cmmunity. There is sme evidence f cllegiality amng teachers and schl leaders. The schl has experienced significant leadership change ver a sustained perid f time which has directly impacted n relatinships and the chesiveness f the staff. There is strng evidence that imprvement initiatives have cmmenced but they have nt been cnsistently implemented and mnitred during this time. The schl has develped a curriculum plan which is intended t infrm curriculum delivery and ensure cnsistent teaching and learning expectatins. The schl is in the prcess f develping and dcumenting a number f verarching schl-based curriculum prgrams and framewrks t supprt the systematic delivery f curriculum and drive everyday practice in classrms. The schl utilises Curriculum int the Classrm as the significant resurce t deliver the Australian Curriculum. There is little evidence that the schl s curriculum plan, schl-based prgrams and framewrks cnsistently influence classrm practice at this time. There is cmmitment by staff f shared respnsibility fr the wellbeing and learning f students. The schl has adpted the research-based apprach - Psitive Behaviur fr Learning (PB4L) as a basis fr the teaching psitive behaviurs and expectatins fr learning. Mst students identified and understd the expectatins f Be Safe, Be Respnsible and Be Respectful. The schl actively engages students in explicit learning f fcus rules thrugh a variety f mediums. 4

5 2.2 Key imprvement strategies Build the capacity f the leadership team t cntinue t engage all members f the schl cmmunity. Identify key pririties fr imprvement and ensure that the agenda is narrw and sharp and has been clearly cmmunicated and understd by all staff and parents. Ensure that the clearly articulated whle schl imprvement agenda is accmpanied by targets, timelines, apprpriate resurcing and prfessinal develpment fr all staff. Cllabratively review the schl s curriculum plan and verarching curriculum dcuments and framewrks t build alignment with the Australian Curriculum. Ensure that the curriculum plan includes a scpe and sequence dcument fr Pre t Year 6. These dcuments shuld be the reference against which flexible delivery is designed, implemented and mnitred. Cntinue t build a systematic whle schl apprach t develping teacher capability. This includes the prvisin f high quality prfessinal develpment and caching, mentring, feedback and supervisin prcesses t embed evidence-based teaching and build cnsistent teaching practices acrss the schl. 5
