6 2. Executive summary 2.1 Key findings The schl leaders are cmmitted t imprving student utcmes fr all students. The schl Annual Implementatin Plan (AIP) utlines nine key pririties. A wideranging set f strategies have been develped fr imprving levels f student achievement and wellbeing. There is a dcumented executive accuntabilities verview fr 2015 hwever it is unclear as t wh is driving aspects f this agenda. The schl has adpted the Schl Wide Psitive Behaviur Supprt (SWPBS) framewrk as a means t establish clear expectatins fr hw students shuld behave and interact with ne anther. Within this framewrk the schl uses data t infrm the prgram, define behaviurs, explicitly teach expected behaviurs, acknwledge apprpriate behaviurs and define cnsequences fr inapprpriate behaviurs. This framewrk is yet t be embedded r cnsistently applied acrss the schl. Schl leaders have given pririty t understanding and addressing the needs f students and are surcing and applying available resurces t meet thse needs. Several rles have been resurced t manage student behaviur and attendance. At this time, the increased number f rles is yet t deliver greater cnsistency in the applicatin f behaviur expectatins, prcesses and cnsequences. A whle-schl data plan exists and utlines the tls/strategies, targets grups, respnsibilities and timelines. There is sme evidence that data is used t infrm resurcing, instructin and prgrams acrss the schl. The schl has frmed a team under the schl's Reading, Arithmetic and Writing (RAW) strategy. The team is striving t develp a culture f imprvement and drive whle-schl imprvements particularly with regard t literacy and numeracy. Teachers are pen t cnstructive feedback althugh there is nt an established frmal mentring r caching arrangement in place. The staff have well dcumented unit plans t infrm curriculum delivery that are all lcated n OneSchl. The schl has a graphic rganiser utlining the schl s curriculum framewrk hwever there is n dcumented whle-schl plan fr curriculum delivery. 6

7 The Art and Science f Teaching (AST) pedaggical apprach is knwn by staff acrss the schl and serves as the pedaggical framewrk. There is clear evidence in classrms that the framewrk is guiding schl teaching and learning. Effective practice is being unpacked and rlled ut acrss the schl. Parents and cmmunity speak highly f the schl and the pprtunities t wrk tgether t supprt student learning and wellbeing. An active Parents and Citizens Assciatin (P&C), lcal businesses, cmmunity rganisatins and educatin partners are prductive schl partners. 7

8 2.2 Key imprvement strategies Narrw and sharpen the fcus f the imprvement agenda t enhance schl-wide understanding f and cmmitment t identified pririties and targets. Further develp and cmmunicate clear rle and respnsibility statements and line management accuntabilities fr all schl leaders. Engage the schl cmmunity and reginal ffice expertise in a review f the Schl Wide Psitive Behaviur Supprt (SWPBS) framewrk as a means f imprving student behaviur, attendance and truancy. Review the current staffing mdel f managing student behaviur and mnitring student attendance fr alignment, effectiveness and schl-wide cnsistency. Ensure the data plan is enacted and mnitred, including the prmtin f data literacies t infrm classrm practice. Develp a schl-wide, explicit, cherent and sequenced plan fr curriculum delivery that clearly identifies cnsistent teaching and learning expectatins, hrizntal and vertical alignment f curriculum fferings, clear practices fr mnitring learning acrss the year levels and the alignment f assessment and reprting prcedures. Further embed the AST pedaggical framewrk acrss the schl. Ensure cnsistency f practice and understanding acrss the schl. Develp a strategic and systematic whle-schl apprach t the prvisin f caching and prviding feedback fr all staff. 8
