4 2. Executive summary 2.1 Key findings The schl has develped an agenda fr imprvement in partnership with teaching staff, supprt staff members, parents and the cmmunity. Elements f the schl s perfrmance data are analysed t infrm aspects f the Explicit Imprvement Agenda (EIA). The leadership team is cmmitted t the imprvement f student utcmes fr all students and staff members, and cmmunity members recunt instances f schl imprvement and imprved utcmes fr students. Mst teachers are able t articulate sme aspects f the schl imprvement pririties with sme variatin. The leadership team understands the imprtance f data infrmed decisin-making. A review f schl achievement data is the basis fr frmulating the Annual Implementatin Plan (AIP). A rigrus and systematic analysis f academic learning utcmes data is nt yet fully reflected in the dcumented schl imprvement agenda. The schl has a curriculum plan, which is published as part f the schl curriculum, assessment data plan. The plan identifies the relatinship between curriculum, pedaggy and assessment, and describes the use f data that shuld infrm teaching practice. The schl is develping a mre detailed and cnsistently enacted whle-schl curriculum plan that incrprates the schl s shared visin and prcesses fr curriculum design and alignment. The schl has cllabratively develped a lcalised pedaggical framewrk, which incrprates the schl s Tlbx, cntaining strategies fr effective classrm practice. There is an effective implementatin f aspects f the schl s Tlbx in all classrms, especially the use f learning gals. Other aspects f the Tlbx, such as differentiatin strategies are yet t be applied cnsistently and rigrusly by all staff members. The schl demnstrates a strng cmmitment t inclusive practices and t the integratin f students with high learning needs. Differentiatin is a cre schl pririty. Teachers generally acknwledge that the current strategy f differentiatin is develpmental and greater clarity will ensure differentiatin strategies are mre effective. Systematic and nging use f student achievement data t infrm differentiated instructin is an area fr imprvement. 4

5 Implementatin f a refined and widely accepted perfrmance develpment framewrk fr classified fficers and senir teachers is well advanced. Beginning teachers cmplete a caching, develpment and appraisement prgram. An individual learning and develpment planning prcess, invlving student and peer feedback, and subsequent facilitated reflectin has cmmenced fr all teachers. Explicit links t the schl s imprvement agenda are nt yet fully develped In Semester , 25.9 per cent f students were attending less than 85 per cent f the time. Overall attendance fr Semester 2, 2015 was 89 per cent and this is an imprvement frm 85.2 per cent in Attendance prcesses are established and sme gains in attendance are achieved with pprtunities fr further imprvement. 5

6 2.2 Key imprvement strategies Narrw and sharpen the fcus f the schl s imprvement agenda t enhance schl-wide understanding f and cmmitment t identified pririties and targets. Cmplete a rigrus and strategic analysis f student perfrmance data with a view t prmting a sharp fcus n student academic achievement and strategies fr success aligned with the EIA. Develp and publish a whle-schl prtcl fr curriculum design, implementatin, review, assessment and reprting that reflects the schl s pririties. Revisit the schl s pedaggical framewrk t encurage cnsistency f instructinal appraches, develp a cmmn language f instructin acrss the schl and deepen understanding regarding the pririty elements f the Tlbx. Cllabratively clarify a schl-wide definitin f differentiatin that will permit the cnslidatin and further develpment f schl and classrm practices, which are fcused n the imprvement f student learning. Strengthen the alignment f the Prfessinal Develpment (PD) prgrams with the EIA, including the alignment f perfrmance develpment and individual develpment plans. Review the attendance prcesses and prmtinal strategies t cntinue t refine the targets and strategies fr the imprvement f attendance. 6
