4 2. Executive summary 2.1 Key findings The schl leadership team and staff are cmmitted t schl imprvement and t every student s success. The schl has identified a range f pririty areas and strategies as central t its brad imprvement agenda. These include reading, number, writing, a fcus n the early years, individualised instructin and student wellbeing. There is an ptimistic cmmitment by all staff t nging schl imprvement. The schl has recently established an extended leadership team t supprt the imprvement agenda. This prvides an pprtunity t build capacity thrugh the implementatin f a leadership strategy. Schl leaders identify reliable and timely student data as essential t an effective schl imprvement agenda. The schl has develped and implemented a dcumented plan fr the annual cllectin f academic and wellbeing data. Schl leaders rutinely mnitr student achievement in literacy, numeracy and wellbeing. The schl s visin statement, Success is embedded in a culture f care, is enacted acrss the schl thrugh an inclusive culture supprted by psitive and caring relatinships. The tne f the schl is warm, psitive and friendly and reflects a schl-wide cmmitment t purpseful, successful learning fr every student. The schl views parents and families as integral members f the schl cmmunity and partners in student learning. The schl applies its resurces in a targeted manner t respnd t the learning and wellbeing needs f students and prfessinal needs f staff. The schl prvides an extensive range f targeted interventin, supprt and enrichment prgrams fr students. There is sme evidence that data is used t mnitr the effectiveness f these prgrams and the prgress f individual students. Staff are enthusiastic abut their wrk in the schl and have a strng cmmitment t student learning and wellbeing and value pprtunities t engage in prfessinal learning. The schl prvides a range f prfessinal learning pprtunities. Teachers are prvided with feedback thrugh annual perfrmance develpment planning. The schl is yet t implement a systematic apprach t supprting teachers as prfessinal learners thrugh regular cycles f cllabrative planning, prfessinal develpment, caching, mdelling and feedback. 4

5 The schl has dcumented plans fr curriculum delivery including a curriculum framewrk, English and mathematics handbks and an assessment verview. The schl s curriculum plan largely draws frm the Curriculum int the Classrm (C2C) units f wrk with the assciated assessment tasks and guides t making judgements being used as key assessment items. There is an pprtunity t review schl curriculum planning t ensure it is lcally relevant and respnsive t student needs. Explicit teaching is a regular feature f classrm practice and students are encuraged and supprted in setting individualised learning gals. The schl has develped and published a cmprehensive pedaggical framewrk. In additin t this, the schl has recently cllabratively develped English and mathematics handbks which prvide further clarity fr agreed teaching practices in these subjects. The schl is wrking twards develping cnsistency f practice in pririty areas. 5
