2 1. Backgrund The WAIS Diving Prgram wrks in partnership with Diving Australia and Diving WA. The prgram prvides a pathway fr athletes t prgress t the Natinal High Perfrmance Training Centres (Pillar prgrams lcated in Brisbane, Sydney, Melburne and Adelaide). Athletes will either be; 1. New schlarship athletes a. NEPP/STP divers b. talent transfer athletes c. Existing age r interstate divers r 2. Existing schlarship athletes (renewal) There are tw types f supprt prgrams available t these identified WA Divers 1. WAIS Diving Prgram schlarships fr athletes wh spend the majrity f the year in the WAIS Daily Training Envirnment (DTE). 2. Individual Athlete Supprt Prgram WA Cnnect Grants fr athletes wh spend the majrity f the year utside the WAIS DTE (inside the DA Pillar prgrams). 2. Prgram bjectives KPI s 1. Prepare athletes t transitin t the Natinal High Perfrmance Training Centres. 2. Maximise the WA cntributin t Australian pdium perfrmances. 3. Maximise WA representatin n Natinal Junir and Senir teams. 3. Schlarship term and review The term f the schlarship will be frm 1 February 31 January each year. Schlarships will be reviewed at agreed intervals against selectin criteria and prgram bjectives. 4. Selectin Criteria New schlarship athletes There are 3 pathways fr selectin: A. NEPP/STP Athletes may be invited t a trial n a WAIS Training Agreement fr 8-12 weeks (dependent n agreement between WAIS and athlete) based upn the fllwing; Current list f acquired skills appendix 1 Relevant cmpetitin results appendix 2 Ptential t prgress appendix 3A Current cmpetitive lists/dives Acrbatic abilities Fllwing the trial athletes may be ffered a schlarship based upn the fllwing; Page 2 WAIS Diving Selectin Criteria

Talent transfer Athletes may be invited t a trial fr 8-12 weeks n a WAIS Training Agreement (dependent n agreement between WAIS and athlete) based upn the fllwing; See attached criteria frm Diving Australia athletes with n diving experience C. Existing age r interstate divers Athletes may be invited t a trial perid (time frame dependent n agreement between WAIS and athlete). Fllwing the trial athletes may be ffered a schlarship based upn the fllwing criteria, as accrding t Diving Australia s high perfrmance prgram standards (DA HPP); If Grup C r belw must be training and cmpeting n bth Platfrm and Springbard. Must have the ability t develp a list f dives frm all 6 grups as assessed by the DA General Manager, Perfrmance and Pathways. Must have a list f ptinal dives that is internatinally cmpetitive and meets the DA HPP DD standards utlined belw and Must have achieved at least ne scre frm the list belw at a State r Natinal level event. Existing athletes renewal Selectin is based n the fllwing; Results frm the mst recent Junir Elite Natinals and/r Open Natinals prir t the year f schlarship renewal Be in accrdance t the criteria set frward by Diving Australia (see attached) Current cmpetitive dive lists (cmparative t dmestic and/r internatinal cmpetitrs) Ptential t prgress appendix 3B 6. Selectin Prcess A Selectin Panel cnsisting f the WAIS Perfrmance Team Directr Natinal Prgrams (acting as Chairman), the WAIS Head Diving Cach, the DA General Manager, Perfrmance and Pathways and the DWA CEO (r representative) will be frmed. The panel will evaluate and rate current and prpsed divers against the selectin criteria listed abve based n feedback frm the panel members and additinal data frm WAIS service prviders where apprpriate. Divers wh will spend a significant time utside the WAIS Daily Training Envirnment will be cnsidered fr an Individual Athlete Supprt Prgram (IASP) Schlarship - WACG. 4 Once selected, these names will be sent t the WAIS CEO fr apprval. WAIS Diving schlarships are nt cnfirmed until the athlete has cmpleted all WAIS administrative requirements. 7. Queries n Selectin All questins cncerning any aspect f selectin must be in writing and addressed t the WAIS Perfrmance Team Directr Natinal Prgrams within 14 days fllwing ntificatin. 8. Appeal Prcess If an athlete wishes t ldge an appeal abut the selectin utcme, this appeal is t be submitted in writing t the WAIS Perfrmance Team Directr. Appeals will be reviewed thrughly by the Selectin Panel. The athlete will be advised f the utcme f the appeal in writing by the WAIS Perfrmance Team Directr. In the event that the athlete is unsatisfied with the utcme f an appeal, the appeal can be escalated by the athlete t the WAIS CEO, in writing. In this instance, the Perfrmance Team Directr will review the prcess fllwed by the selectin panel and prvide a further recmmendatin t the WAIS CEO. The WAIS CEO will then review the prcess fllwed by the selectin panel and the recmmendatin f the Perfrmance Team Directr and ntify the athlete f the utcme f the appeal in writing. 9. De-selectin Prcess Athlete initiated - An athlete wishing t withdraw frm the Prgram may d s at any time by infrming their WAIS Perfrmance Team Directr and/r Cach in writing. Caches initiated - The WAIS Cach may recmmend t the Selectin Panel the withdrawal f an athlete s schlarship after a frmal review r at any ther time deemed necessary, based n the athlete s current and future perfrmance, cmmitment and ptential t achieve the prgram s bjectives. WAIS initiated - An athlete s prgram schlarship may be suspended r terminated where he r she breaches the WAIS Athlete Agreement and/r the DA member prtectin plicy. Athletes wh are deselected will assisted in accrdance with the WAIS Athlete Transitin Plicy. Page 4 WAIS Diving Selectin Criteria

Schlarship Classificatins The athletes are classified int Pdium Pathway categries, these categries are defined as fllws: Pdium Pathway categry Descriptin Other categry Descriptin Pdium Pdium Ready* Athlete wh had a medal perfrmance at a wrld champinship (r equivalent) event in the previus 24 mnths and is cnsidered capable f a medal at the next wrld champinship (r equivalent) event. Athlete wh placed furth t eighth at the mst recent wrld champinship (r equivalent) event and is cnsidered capable f prgressing t Pdium in the next tw years Cmmnwealth Gld ** Pdium Ptential*** Develping Emerging Athlete wh des nt fit int the categries abve but is cnsidered capable f a gld medal at the 2018 Cmmnwealth Games. Athlete wh is cnsidered capable f prgressing t at least Pdium Ready in the next tw years. Athlete wh is cnsidered capable f prgressing t at least Pdium Ptential in the next tw years. Athlete wh is cnsidered capable f prgressing t at least Develping in the next tw years. Internatinal Athlete wh des nt satisfy any f the Pdium Pathway categry criteria but has earned selectin fr the natinal senir team r squad preparing fr the NSOs benchmark event.
