Categries will be men r wmen, and then age grups, categries, r age grups plus categries. The default CUP categries are nt shwn as cmbined. This year it is Men 3, nt Men 3-4. Hwever, fr certain categries the Race Directr has the ptin f cmbining them as described in the Table in Sectin SM 5 and SW 5 have been renamed Beginner Men 5 and Beginner Wmen 5. These categries must be given an pprtunity t cmpete. BRAC suggests they be run separate, but if nt, they shuld be cmbined with the crrespnding cat 4 grup (i.e. Men 4-5 and Wmen 4-5).

Effectively balance the needs f the race directrs with the needs f the riders Effectively balance the events fr the race grups t give all riders a fair number f racing pprtunities COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY & RESPONSIBILITIES INDIVIDUALS BRAC ANNUAL members wh are licensed by USA CYCLING and are categrized as a 1, 2, 3, 4, r 5 (if cmpeting in a nn-exclusive Cat 5 event) may earn pints in the Rcky Muntain Rad Cup rider cmpetitin. 4 EVENT SELECTION Single Day events, Stage Races, and Omniums will be selected fr CUP. Each race within an mnium is cnsidered a single day event. Fr Stage Races, each individual day scres pints, as well as the verall General Classificatin. Fr Omniums, each individual day scres pints. Mid-Week races will nt be part f the ROAD CUP pint cmpetitin. Individual Time Trials will cunt fr ROAD CUP Individual and Team designatin. Team Time Trials will be cnsidered nly fr ROAD CUP Team designatin. First year events and/r clubs wh cancelled an event in the previus year fr reasns ther than weather, will be cnsidered prbatinary and therefre must demnstrate t BRAC beynd a reasnable dubt that they shuld be awarded CUP status. Prmting clubs must be current members, in gd standing, f bth USA Cycling and the Bicycle Racing Assciatin f Clrad. Clubs must have prperly applied fr the status f ROAD CUP and paid the calendar race date fee. The Club-designated race directr must have cmpleted the CDC cncussin curse and submitted the certificate f cmpletin t the BRAC secretary. BRAC shall select the ROAD CUP events EVENT REQUIREMENTS ALL CUP EVENTS Events are encuraged t have a prfessinal appearance and atmsphere. Suggested items include, but are nt limited t: Annuncers and Music Finish Line Apparatus Vendr/Exp Area Activities fr children In the event f a weather cancellatin, the club s race directr shall call the Chief Referee and BRAC Membership Manager t infrm them f the situatin as sn as pssible. Fr the ROAD CUP Rider cmpetitin, pints will apply fr a rider s tp 20 pints earning events, based n his r her tp perfrmances in the five disciplines per sectin Fr the ROAD CUP Team cmpetitin, pints will apply fr a team s tp 20 events in a given seasn based n its tp perfrmances in the five disciplines per sectin Individual Time Trials and Team Time Trials will bth cunt fr part f the TT race maximum. Fr Team Time Trials, a team may enter and receive pints fr mre than ne team BRAC strngly suggests running Men 1-2 and Wmen 1-2 cnsecutively r scheduled s the finish time f day is in clse prximity t best shwcase ur sprt REGISTRATION Pre-registratin is recmmended fr all CUP events. A distinct pre-registratin line is required f races ffering pre-registratin. Pre-registratin must be available until 36 hurs befre the event starts. Stage races, mniums, and time trials can clse registratin earlier with BRAC apprval. Pre-registratin files must include the fllwing validated data and be sent t the timing cmpany r race directr 18 hurs in advance f first race if requested. Start lists must include: Bib #, First and Last name, Team name, Hmetwn, State, Categry, Age, Gender, and USAC # RESULTS Results are based n the SPECIFIC CUP RACE GROUP entered by an athlete prir t the event. N race grup changes may ccur after the start f a race. Electrnically generated results must be prvided t BRAC. These data files must: include USAC#, Place, Race grup, First Name, Last Name, Time, Bib #, Hmetwn, State prvide the calculatin f finish times, and prvide the ability t srt results by time and race grup. be sent t the Membership Manager within 4 hurs f the cnclusin f the event. PRO license hlders are nt Rcky Muntain Rad Cup eligible and are nt eligible fr State Champinships NON-CUP RACE GROUPS There are tw bligatry Nn-Cup grups: Beginner Men 5 Beginner Wmen 5 A Race Directr must give these categries an pprtunity t cmpete, as either a separate race r cmbined with the Men 4 and Wmen 4, respectively. BRAC encurages Race Directrs t find time in the schedule t ffer these as separate categries t better encurage grwth f participatin. Categry 5 is an entry level categry. Riders are strngly encuraged t upgrade quickly within USAC upgrade plicy. There are n cup pints fr races exclusively fr categry 5, althugh BRAC encurages hlding MEN 5 and WOMEN 5 events t help bring new riders int the sprt RACE Grups fr State Champinships Races that hst specific grups fr their State Champinships, such as Junir Hill Climb r Masters criterium, may hst ther race grups in additin t the champinship classes. Race grups run fr State Champinships have separate starts and are nt cmbined with ther race grups. The Race Grup is taken in highest categry rider. The Race Grup must be designated at registratin. Example belw: Men 1-2 TTT culd cmprise ne cat 2, ne cat 3, ne cat.4 man. They will be placed in the Men 1-2 race grup. Men TTT culd cmprise ne 40+ Cat-2, ne 50+ Cat 3, ne 60+ Cat 4. This team will be placed in the Men race grup. Men culd cmprise ne Men 17, ne Men 15, and ne Men 12 rider. This team will be placed in the Men race grup. 7

11 SCORING AND REGULATIONS Cup series team and Individual pint ttals will be calculated using the highest pint values frm: Tp 3 - Rad Races Tp 3 - Criteriums Tp 3 - Time Trials Tp 3 - Hill Climbs Tp 3 - Stage Race General Classificatins Tp 3 Omnium Overall Classificatins The individual races that are part f an mnium r a stage race will be scred fr cup pints within their respective discipline (Rad race, criterium, etc.). The verall classificatins fr a stage race r mnium will scre pints within the stage race r mnium categries. Fr mniums, the race directr must specify hw riders withut pints will be classified s that 25 places are established if there were 25 racers in the race grup INDIVIDUAL CUP SCORING Place Pints In 2018, Stage Race G.C. will earn 1.25 x the pints shwn in the table abve. In 2018, all State Champinships will earn 50% mre pints cmpared t ther events. 11

12 TEAM CUP SCORING Team CUP will be scred as fllws: In rder t scre team cup pints in a particular race grup fr a particular race, the team must have at least tw finishers. In each race, the finish places f the team s tp tw riders be added tgether. The team with the lwest ttal f sum f placings will be the team winner fr the day. The team with the secnd lwest sum f placings will be secnd place, etc. In the case f a tie n sum f placings, the tie will be brken in favr f the team wh had the highest placing rider Once the ranking by teams fr the day is established, the teams will receive the number f pints fr the Team CUP cmpetitin per the table belw: Team Placing Pints TIE BREAKERS Ties in the final individual and Team CUP classificatins will be brken by the greatest number f pints in the respective race grup at the BRAC designated state champinship events in the fllwing rder; Rad Race Time Trial Hill Climb Criterium 12
