President Rick Auchenbach Hello Skiers & Snowboarders, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and Happy New Year! The 50th Anniversary Gala was a great success. Congratulations to all who helped with the planning and behind-the-scenes work, and to those who attended. I think we succeeded in properly celebrating the past 50 years and ushering in the next. With the Gala only a recent memory, let's look ahead at upcoming events. The Christmas Party will be held Thursday, December 17th at the Liederkranz. We encourage you to bring prospective members, but we will be charging a minimal fee for non-members to offset club costs. We look forward to seeing you! After the holidays, ski season kicks into high gear. The FDSC Lesson Program starts Tuesday, January 5th at Bear Creek, followed quickly by the Instructional Trip to Greek Peak, NY January 8th - 10th. The Lesson Program continues every Tuesday for 6 more weeks, finishing Tuesday, February 16th. You may want to consider purchasing a Bear Creek Season Pass to increase your skiing enjoyment. Your FDSC Ski School Instructors look forward to helping you improve your skiing and snowboarding. This is our focus-- what we're all about. So get your winter sports equipment ready and hit the slopes. "'Tis the season to be skiing." Social Director Debbie Pasquale Who's Got The Fun? Hola, my (Dutchmen) Family! That was the mantra for the first ever Dutchmen Punta Cana trip. We had an AWESOME time in sunny and steamy (in more ways than one) Punta Cana! We ate, we drank, we played games, we played golf, we went horseback riding, we laid on the beach, we laid by the pool, we wouldn't get out of the pool, we got engaged So many things to say, so little space. We're going somewhere sunny and steamy in two years. Hope to see you then. Winter Sports Night was a HUGE success. Thank you Ed and especially Sue Mac for the hard work that went into making it a success. As always, GREAT JOB!! A few reminders of things happening in the Dutchmen family. First, don't forget about our Christmas Party on Thursday, December 17th. Food, Fun, and Music. Bring a friend and show them how the Dutchmen party! The Christmas party is a great time to introduce your friends to all the things we have to offer in the club because there are always plenty of members in attendance. Don't forget, memberships make great Christmas/Holiday gifts. I want to say on behalf of the club, thank you to Karen Youngwirth and her committee for an outstanding job with the 50th Anniversary. Karen has tirelessly been forming committees, having meetings, and planning events for over a year and it all paid off! Thank you for your dedication to making the club what it is today. Are you ready for the Centennial? Happy Holidays to All! We've Got The Fun!! Debbie DON T MISS ANYTHING! Please notify your membership director at membership@fdsc.org of any address, , or phone number changes

3 Lodge Neal Kline Hello from the lodge. I'd like to thank everyone who helped out at workers weekend. We finally got the deck stained this time. Saturday was a little cool, but Sunday was perfect. Don`t forget that winter rates take effect December 16th. Book early to get the dates you want to rent the lodge! Be Safe! Neal Brian Antonio Brian Barnes Gretchen Barrell Joseph Braun Amy Cengeri Betsy Dries Tanya Eddinger Alane Falcone Edward Feuer Mason Gearheart Past President Karen Youngwirth Wow! Did I just see 2009 flash before my eyes! We have had an incredible time celebrating the past, present, and future of the Flying Dutchmen Ski Club. I wish everyone could have been at the 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration. It was an amazing event to finish our year of having fun and reminiscing. Our most amazing committee first met way back in February I want to thank Rick Auchenbach, Sue Gottschall, Holly Kline, Michele LeGrande, Beth Long, Darlyne Maul, Fran Parzanese, Bill Roland, Karen Sandloop, and Ed and Alice Schappell for their hours upon hours of hard work and their dedication to this committee. Each time we got together, talking about the events of the past became a major part of the discussion. We decided early in the process that we needed to bring back some of the events that were treasured by so many of our members. We rode motorcycles and trains, drove, won at the casinos, golfed, floated, ate, drank, and remembered, biked, played tennis and volleyball, ski wiied, saw our favorite sports fashions, and had pina coladas on the beach. It took an enormous amount of Dutchmen to run these successful events. Many thanks to many, many people are owed, with special thanks to Paul Prutzman for being there time and again with everything we needed. Happy 50th Anniversary to us!
