23 Basic Traffic Management Definitions Daily Lane Closure - Redirecting of vehicular traffic with cones, barricades and flagmen during non peak hours. - Normal traffic operations restored during peak and evening hours.

24 Basic Traffic Management Definitions Traffic Switch Redirecting of vehicular traffic to a new traffic pattern for a specific period of time. Traffic movement is maintained but generally with one lane of traffic in one direction.

25 Basic Traffic Management Definitions Detour Redirecting vehicular traffic to adjacent streets while an intersection is being reconstructed. Traffic movement is reinstated once all work is completed.

30 Deep Ellum Gateway Competition As part of the construction of the Southeast Corridor, DART s Line Section SE-1 will be constructed in the median of Good-Latimer Expressway, on top of what is currently the Good-Latimer Tunnel. Since its construction, the tunnel has acted as a gateway for those entering into the nearby Deep Ellum entertainment district. The tunnel is currently being demolished. The DART Board has set aside $1.5 million to provide Deep Ellum with an appropriate entrance experience. Project Overview

33 Process Deep Ellum Gateway Competition Working with a site specific committee, a request for proposals will solicit entries from interested artists, or artist/architect/landscape architect teams. Criteria Artistic merit, conceptual approach and constructability as demonstrated in the competition entry. Sympathy of design to the context of Deep Ellum and the overall urban design goals of the DART transit system. The evidence of enduring, low-maintenance materials. Selection Process and Criteria
