December, to me at least, is the slowdown for a lot of our riding activities, mainly due to getting ready for the upcoming holiday festivities. But we can all still have lots of FUN during December with our upcoming Chapter Holiday Party so don t forget to send Fran your registration and payment! That being said, let s do our recap of November s events. 5 Nov Paul and Carol kicked off our 2017 Chapter Visitations with a visit to DE-B Gathering way to go Paul and Carol!! 6 Nov Paul and Carol visited the Rockaway Beach Fire House in support of our Fire House Challenge. 11 Nov was the Abingdon Fire House Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. We had 10 members attend in support of our Fire House Challenge: Mike (on his Wing) and Frannie, Pete and Alice, Barbie, Glenda, Ruth, Cathy, and Shane and me. 12 Nov was a busy day with two events: We added another Chapter Visitation to our 2017 Chapter Visits with our visit to MD-F s Chapter Gathering in Hagerstown, MD. We had eight members attend: Chris, Mike and Fran, Barbie, Kevin, Paul (unfortunately he didn t make it to the chapter gathering as he had bike problems and had to return to home base), Glenda, and Shane and me. We had a total of six riders (Chris, Paul, Glenda, Kevin, Shane and me) on this ride temps were a little cool but not when wearing heated clothing! 2 Our second event that day was Bill and Suzie s Thanksgiving Potluck that evening what a FUN-tastic way to kick off November s Thanksgiving Holiday! The food was delicious as always I m proud to say our chapter has the BEST cooks and bakers! So if you missed this potluck, you missed out on some very tasty turkey, lots of yummy sides, and scrumptious desserts! The members who participated were Suzie and Bill, Neal and Carol, Chris and Marge, Barbie, Alice and Pete, Mike and Fran, Ruth and Rodney, Paul and Carol, Kevin and Carol, Cathy and Steve, Sue, Wendy, and Shane and me. Our thanks go to Suzie and Bill for hosting it. 13 Nov Chis and Marge and Mike and Fran went to the Darlington Fire House for their meal in support of our Fire House Challenge. 16 Nov was our monthly staff meeting at our place. Your staff worked on ideas for our 2017 Chapter Calendar. But remember that we can t do it without your help and assistance so if you come up with any ideas for rides, overnighters, ice cream socials, potlucks, or restaurants, be sure to let us know so we can incorporate your idea into the calendar. Attending were Marge and Chris, Mike and Frannie, Suzie, Cathy, Paul and Carol, Ruth, and Shane and me. Shane and I say Kudos and Thank You to our Chapter Staff for their time and efforts in their staff positions the chapter wouldn t be successful without you! 19 Nov we had a couple Fire House Fundraisers to support our Firehouse Challenge as well as several other really cool stops on a ride that Mike Haslup led. First stop was for breakfast at the Robert Fulton Firehouse in PA. Then we rode to what we commonly referred to as the Corn Wagon where seasonal veggies are sold. The next stop was at the Cherry Hill Orchard Outlet where all kinds of goodies as well as seasonal displays and various outdoor items may be purchased. The next stop was at the Refton Fire House for their specialty, chicken corn soup and apple dumplings. The soup was delicious as always but unfortunately no apple dumplings were to be had. The question was raised, Were we too late? The answer was No, as the Amish women who typically make the apple dumplings were heavily involved in food prep for various weddings and were unable to find time to make the dumplings. Well maybe we ll have better luck at their next fundraiser. But Mike s ride wasn t finished yet last stop but certainly not the least was at the Maplehofe Dairy for some ice cream refreshment (they have the best chocolate milk and ice cream!). Attendance for Mike s ride was awesome there were ten members on four two-wheels, two trikes, one reverse trike, one Spyder, and one four-wheeled vehicle. 20 Nov Paul & Carol and Glenda and Johnnie enjoyed breakfast at the 5 th District Fire House supporting our Fire House Challenge! 27 Nov was our monthly MD-H Chapter Gathering at the Golden Corral in Aberdeen, MD. It was also our 2017 pre-planning meeting and your ideas were definitely appreciated. We will do our best to incorporate them into our calendar. We had 22 members and one visitor, our granddaughter, who attended our Gathering. 28 Nov several ladies got together at Cathy Kelley s house in the morning and successfully completed the Chapter Scrapbook. Attending this event was Cathy, Frannie, and Marge. Our thanks to Cathy for hosting this event again! I m also proud to say that we have a couple people stepping up into new Staff positions for Sue Miller was our Membership Enhancement Coordinator (MEC) this year and has decided to step down. Cathy has graciously volunteered to do the MEC position as well as the Newsletter Editor position! Suzie Jacobs was our Ride Coordinator this year and was planning to step down. Paul Breeden has graciously volunteered to step up as Ride Coordinator with Suzie as his Assistant Ride Coordinator. Between the two of them, I m sure they will have some interesting ride events for us in Our Thanks go to Cathy and Paul for stepping up. That winds down our activities for the month of November. Don t forget to take a look at the pictures in our newsletter. Also don t forget to note the Upcoming December Activities. Let s finish out 2016 with a great turn-out for our upcoming Chapter Holiday Party your support is truly needed to make this event successful! Do note: MD-H will NOT have a December Chapter Gathering. Now don t forget to register for MD District WinterThing it s a lot of FUN so if you ve never been there, come and join us! As most of you are already aware, our very own Chapter Couple of the Year (COY), Paul and Carol Breeden, will be entering the selection for MD District COY. Let s show our Chapter H spirit and give them our support! Last but certainly not least, mark your calendar for the Save the Dates events. Before we know it 2017 will be rolling in and our riding activities will commence in January weather depending so stay tuned!

3 Greetings from our Assistant Chapter Director Kevin Paul I want to thank everyone for your prayers and support over the last few weeks. While some of you were out shopping on black Friday I spent the day on the Bay fishing for rockfish with some friends I work with. We had a good time and we all got a fish to take home. Here is a Christmas tree that I found for Gold and Wing.

This time of the year can bring with it lots of busy activity for many and we know the weather can be sometimes unpredictable.

4 Greetings from our Rider Educator Rodney Malone Hello and Merry Christmas to all. Ruth and I hope that everyone was able to have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had family visit from out of town during Thanksgiving which was nice and we squeezed in a little time for some Mall shopping as we are preparing for Christmas. This time of the year can bring with it lots of busy activity for many and we know the weather can be sometimes unpredictable. It s very important to keep safety at the top of your thoughts as you go about your travels, particularly if you are continuing to ride your motorcycle. Many leaves are all over the ground and roadways and colder weather can permit ice to develop in those shaded areas more quickly. Be sure that you dress appropriately, for safety and warmth. Pack extra layers even if it is warm when you are starting off to prevent risk of getting caught out on a ride unprepared. While you are out and about during the holiday season with family and friends remember to stay alert to your surroundings and be safe. See attached flyer & registration. Don t forget that our COY, Paul and Carol, will be participating in the COY selection on Friday (we don t have the exact timeframe yet)! So let s give them a huge Ch-H support by being there to cheer them on!! Also on this same note, our chapter typically donates to MD District (for their raffle) a basket filled with gift cards and goodies that our members graciously donate. This year we are looking to do a tropical island theme for our basket. Sue Miller is our POC for this and she already has the basket and has graciously agreed to put it together as she has in the past years. Wendy is donating some ice cream shop gift cards (ice cream is always good whether the weather is hot or cold) and we are also looking for some tropical-themed music CDs, beverages or mixers (non-alcoholic only), maybe some cute island-type glasses, coconuts, limes, lemons something that goes with the tropical island theme. A word of caution, if you re thinking of contributing the coconut, limes, lemons, or anything that has a very limited shelf-life, please do not purchase it until just before WinterThing! Gift cards should be able to be used in any state, for example, Dairy Queen as that store can be found in the majority of the surrounding states. If you want to contribute but are not planning on going to WinterThing, you can give your contribution to anyone who will be attending as Sue will put the finishing touches to our basket at WinterThing. So as you make your purchase for the basket, keep Sue in the loop so we don t end up with all the same type items. 18 Feb (Sat) MD-H Spaghetti Dinner Bingo Mt. Ararat Masonic Lodge, 136 E. Gold and Wing Update We need to let everyone know that Gold and Wing have departed the Malone s home.

9 Gold and Wing Update We need to let everyone know that Gold and Wing have departed the Malone s home. Not entirely sure when they left or where they are at the moment; however, sightings have been reported from a variety of locations throughout the Harford County area. Please keep an eye out for them. Winter is coming and we are worried they will not be able to find their way back. Hopefully they will find safe place to land soon because Winter is coming. We are sharing some of the reported sightings we have received below; let us know if you see them in your area. Ruth & Rodney Malone Wing was spotted flying by Nagel s Lane over the weekend Gold was seen flying over the Arena Club on Route 22 on Saturday, November 18. Perhaps he is searching for Wing? Someone was able to get a picture of the two together near Starbucks and Cold Stone Creamery at Route 543 and 22.

10 Wow! Gold and Wing seem to have stumbled into a Nudist Colony! Why would Wing be hanging around the Mill in Bel Air? He must have gotten wind that they stock bird seed.

11 Now this seems like a friendly environment for the birds. Gold and Wing also stopped by to check out the famous Drain Baby on Aberdeen Proving Ground. Nice
