Color and two sided printing depends on your printer and the printer options you chose. PRESIDENT...Florence Bell Hi Everyone.. I want to wish you all a healthy and happy New Year. I hope all your desires are fulfilled. Your Rustler Board is looking forward to a great year. We almost have a complete board. John and Dee Evans will be doing Sunshine and Paul and Alice Baldwin will be Historian. We still need to fill the Chuckwagon position. It would be nice if we had two or three couples volunteer. We have lots of help, but we need someone to be in charge. We had a great holiday party with wonderful food, prizes and surprises. The gift exchange was a lot of fun. Dee and Lisa had us moving with Lines, Square and Round Dancing. Dee volunteered at the last moment to do the installing of our new board and she did a great job. Thank you all for the gift certificate presented to me at the party. Everyone has been so supportive and worked so hard this last year, always pitching in without being asked. The club still needs someone fill the Chuckwagon position to keep serving those great snacks Call Florence Bell at if you will help. January 14th the club will start a new class with Charlie Robertson. We appreciate all of the Angels who come out to help the new students. Please download and print the Class Flyer and give it to friends, neighbors and relatives to a great class and celebrate another year for an awesome club. This is the biggest dance of the year and we want to serve up some special goodies for our friends. We need your help. Please bring the following (remember it should be a big dance!): A-G Meatballs, Mini Dogs, Chicken Wings H-L Meat Tray or Cheese & Crackers M-R Salad S-Z Veggies or Fruit We will have a cake so we aren t asking for any desserts. 3 SUNSHINE...D Evans (and sometimes Shadows) I am back! I want to thank Vel for doing a super job of Sunshine and Shadows the last couple of years. For those that don't know, I did it a couple years before her and it s good to be back! We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. Please keep Shelly and Paul in your thoughts over the holidays. Shelly's daughter continues to battle with her cancer. I spoke with Shelly this past week and her daughter is currently undergoing chemo and her doctors are very pleased with her progress. Ken and Sandie are by now all settled in their new home. We wish them happiness in the new location. Rick and Janie were recently engaged. We are so happy that square dancing has once again played match maker. Beautiful ring and we all couldn't be happier for them. Don Wragg looked wonderful at the Rustlers' Holiday Party. We wish him continued good health. He and Kay are in the process of selling their home and moving to a mobile home community in Irvine. Lots of changes for folks these days. We wish them good health in their new home. D Evans A SQUARE D...Barbara Kellogg ASD wants feedback from all the clubs regarding their continuation or not of their Banner Program in light of Ichabod s & Shirts n Skirts no longer participating in the banner program for visitations. The Shirts n Skirts are changing the venue for their dances & classes. Santa Ana Elk s Lodge. They will be Hosting Workshop Get Acquainted Dances at the Elk s 1/8 & 1/15. The Downey BnBs will be closing. Their final dance is Mar. 15. The Sweetheart Ball is Sunday Feb. 9th. Crossfire is the LIVE band. Our Sweetheart i Lisa Schreiber - Rustler member & talented new caller. I Have the Ribbons for $7.00. t s $8.00 at the Door.$4.00 for non-dancers. Please Bring Finger Foods. We are being asked to donate a Gift Basket which will be sold at Silent Auction as a Fund Raiser for ASD. Barbara LIFE BEYOND DANCING Mike and Cheri met at the Skate Ranch in Santa Ana, Calif. on April 1st They both enjoyed roller skating when growing up. They dated for two years and were married June 21 st, Soon after they met Cheri talked Mike into taking square dancing lessons with the Double G's of Garden Grove. Cheri s parents were members and also some of her aunts and uncles. They have square danced on and off since then. In 1972 they moved to Riverside and that is where their only child Ben was born. In 1980 they purchased the home that Cheri grew up in the city of Garden Grove. Mike and Cheri both love traveling and started tent camping soon after they were married. They bought a tent that attached to their truck after Ben was born. From then on they went camping whenever they could. Their son's first campout was to Sequoia National Park when he was just five months old. Their other loves are playing card games, board games, kayaking, snorkeling, cruising and just enjoying the outdoors. Their son Ben lives in South Dakota where he is a Sports Announcer on the radio. He is married but doesn't have any children. They try to visit them when they can, but not often enough. They have a dog named Susie and she is the love of their life. They miss their son a lot so they give a lot of attention to their dog. They are both retired public school district workers and both are cancer survivors. They still square dance and are members of two clubs. They also like to help new dancers at square dancing classes. Mike and Cheri are very active Rustlers and are again club Secretary. They always lend a hand without being asked. They are always at our classes helping the new dancers with a smile. We all appreciate their dedication. That was to easy, try another: Once there was a night watchman who had been caught several times sleeping on the job. The boss issued the final warning. On the next night he was caught with his head on his hand and his elbows on the desk. "Aha, I've caught you again," exclaimed the boss. The watchman's eyes popped open immediately and he knew what had happened. Being a quick thinking man, he said one word before looking up at the boss. The boss apologized profusely and went home.
