Feb. 26 th 4th Sunday Class Dance; Pat Carnathan calling; 2:00 4:30; Cowtown OUT VISITING: Twirlers only had one visitation in January the GrapeStompers Anniversary dance on January 21st. Dancing to Andy Allemao (Was this our 3rd time dancing to him in recent months? He s so good!) were Lisa Evans, Randy Gibson, Earlean Wagner, Marylou Hofmann, Karen Sanchez (Hurrah! It was great to see her out dancing again!), Janet Jardine, Lorie and Andy Abeles, Alex Hernandez, Bill & Jackie Brown, Rick Jones, and Bob and Carole Stoops. There are two visitations in February hope to see you at one of them! VISITATION POT: At the January dance, Tom Hoffman s name was drawn for the Visitation Pot. He was not at the dance so did not win and the Pot is $5 richer. Maybe you ll be the lucky winner in February remember, going to a visitation increases your chances. 3 PRESIDENTS MESAGE: There are big changes coming for the Twirlers and we have been busy gathering information so the Board can make informed decisions regarding the future direction of the Club. We would like to thank everyone who helped us in our search and attended our meetings during Wednesday Workshop and provided input and suggestions. Watch the Newsletter and the Twirler Weekly for news and updates. \ BOARD MEETING BRIEFS: At the January 16 th Board meeting there were four main topics of discussion: 1. Our February dance is being held at the Sun City Civic Hall because the Bay View Room where we usually hold our dances is being used for another event. The Civic Hall is the same location we held last year s February dance by the Sun City Golf Course on Cherry Hills Blvd. Because Club members attending the dance will be asked to bring finger food to share with the dancers we will not be collecting money for food. 2. We will be starting a new class on Tuesday, March 7 th at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center on Newport Road in Menifee. Workshop will be from 6:30 to 7:00 and Class will be from 7:00 to 9:00. Vic will continue to be our instructor. (Please note the new day and time) Getting a large class is important so everyone needs to help spread the word. 3. Right now there is no good, affordable location that we could use for the Sunday dance. We will continue the search. A variety of issues that would be connected with a move were discussed such as the Club s name, legal issues and paperwork involved with a move, the best time for a move should a location be found, the Club address, etc. 4. For any of the changes we are contemplating to be beneficial to the Club, we need good publicity. Michele, Tom, Kristine, Anita, And A., and Bill and Jackie sre working to spread the word. We will make use of social media, various local publications, ads and flyers. We need all Club members to help. Tell your friends, your neighbors and even strangers that it s fun and good exercise and they should come and try it. If you live in a mobile home or senior community and can post or hand out flyers, get some at workshop or call the Brown s and we ll get some to you. If you live somewhere with a community newsletter that we an place an ad in, let a Board member know. We will leave flyers at schools, libraries, and coffee houses anywhere where there is a bulletin board.
