Some time go request cme to the U.S. President from the President of the Philippine islnds tht he send such n investigting body to help strighten out the Filipino mess. Now with the report on the sordid conditions of things the United Sttes reports tht further id will be on condition tht reformtion will be mde. Grft in government officils must be eliminted. In its present brod use it is used to designte diversion, while with the rticle, '" sport" connotes one who is devoted to gyer plesures nd pstimes. Quite in contrst to this rther unplesnt designtion, sportsmnship mkes reference to tht which is consonnt with chrcter. The qulities which mke good sportsmnship should be exercised by everyone t ll times on the cmpus. The first of these qulities is sportsmn-like energy, which mens fighting hert, indiscourgbility. In college life energy is esily burned nd wsted leving the student worn nd ftigued, but without visble progress. This mens energy tht is poorly directed, nd when it is evidenced within student's record the school rmist, s does coch, pull the erring one bck to the bench for guidnce. Intelligence is the second qulity nd this mens energy t work solving problems. Sportsmnship demnds tht decisions must be mde for the benefit of the group; nd when intelligence is used to solve group problems it is ledership. Sportsmnship lso designtes responsibility. Something rests upon you, wht is it? Just s the thlete is responsible for upholding the honor of the tem, every student is responsible for the honor of the.cmpus,its cdemic stndrds nd- shring its socil responsibility.
