2 Finl observtions on Obershopp 3 from prt A of the meeting Cornwll Rurl Community Chrity (CRCC) were unble to ttend Obershopp 3, which hd been booked s the first prt of the meeting. This will now be held lter in the utumn. 5 Kesoberi gns Pennskol Kresk (Collbortion with Exeter University) ACTION: to invite Andrew Climo to ttend Plce-nme pnel meeting. The Bord discussed potentil collbortions with the ICS including the Orl History project; work would include ctloguing the existing rchive with brief description nd updting the list of people to record. Jordin Sl-Brnchdell hs provided the contct detils of other lecturers, including one working with minority lnguges who noted his students hve been referencing Cornish in their studies. Grry Tregidg is keen to crete Cornish lnguge module for the ICS. 6 Medhelweyth Gerlyver (Dictionry softwre) b c Rgdres gns Pennskol Bngor Mes T (Project with Bngor University Mes T) Bngor University is currently developing Celtic lnguges project to deep-dive texts from multiple lnguges, of which Cornish would be included for nlysis. Gerlyver Wrlinen (Online Dictionry) Stzoom is being contrcted for the remining dictionry website development. Once Stzoom hs been ppointed, the new website will be completed. The intention is to mke the dictionry vilble for testing in October nd public lunch by the end of Sodhek Rgdres (Project Officer) Bngor University is plesed with the progress Dvydh Trethewey hs mde developing the Mes T dictionry dtbse. The 2018/19 work pln includes St Just in Penwith, nd possibly the wider Penwith re for the Penwith Lndscpe Prtnership. intends to meet with the Prtnership nd will enquire bout their greed timetble. A30 Chiverton to Crlnd Cross There hs been no confirmtion yet on the proposed lnguge project s prt of this scheme; however bilingul junction signs for this stretch of the A30 were mentioned. ACTION: Plce-nme pnel to re-exmine nd confirm trnsltions for the list of junctions included in this scheme. Mp of Europe A smple Cornish mp of Europe ws produced using the pnel s greed list of exonyms nd other sources including Broyow n Bys. Advised to use n open source mp before publishing s resource. ACTION: to provide n updted list of Europen countries. Mpp Kernow (digitl mpping, coordintes, printed mps) A Cornish lnguge mp hs been donted to the Cornish Lnguge Office for the express purpose of promotion. There ws suggestion to dd cvet tht the mp is being donted to the Cornish lnguge community. ACTION: to check on the copyright greement for use of Pge 3 of 5

The Cornish Lnguge Office hs been sked to provide bilingul trnsltions for every school in Cornwll. A drft document ws provided to the pnel. ACTION: Plce-nme nd Terminology pnels to reserch the missing nmes nd words identified on the list of schools. c Termonieth (Terminology) Progress on work progrmme priorities ) rchitecture, b) compss/nvigtion, c) 10,000 commonly used words Terminology is working on 300 rugby terms presented to the Akdemi. noted tht nother list for rchitecture is being finlised nd would be submitted shortly, this would require fst turnround. d Hwithrns (Reserch) Current reserch includes exmining the differences between Middle nd Lte Cornish. For exmple, words such s fordh rod which shortens to for in Lte Cornish. The Lte community hs suggested removing these postrophes. The Reserch Pnel hs considered the option of respelling with double consonnt such s <-rr> here to show the short vowel. Although the estblished convention is to use postrophes in this wy, the counter rgument is tht omitting letters does not clerly show vowel length. 9 Keskomunyns (Communictions) The 2018 Skins conference will tke plce on Sturdy 13 nd Sundy 14 October t Tremough. It will be posted shortly on Eventbrite. 10 Negys rl (AOB) sent out press relese on the pssing of Albert Bock, commemorting his contribution to the lnguge for groups to shre. The lst Kesv meeting discussed the need to introduce higher nother level of Cornish exmintion, in order to ensure new genertion of dvnced spekers with ccurte Cornish nd Pge 4 of 5

5 trnsltion skills. Such n exm ws provided in the 1990s nd those who took the exm re relied on tody for proofreding, trnsltion nd generl dvice. The exm ws provided for short period by the Institute of Linguists. The Institute only provides this now to 15 min lnguges. The previous dvnced exm included English to Cornish trnsltion, comprehension, Cornish to English nd finlly simultneous trnsltion.
