All Static (Non-Animal) Project Exhibits Must Be Entered Online for Summer Judging JUNE 1 JULY 1, Again this year, you will be required to enter all of your sta c (nonanimal) projects into FairEntry between June 1st and July 1st. You will use your 4HOnline login and password to get into the system and will register your exhibit(s) for the project(s) you are enrolled in. Addi onally, this year we will be enrolling livestock online for the Summer Doe Show and Fall Fair. The online nomina on through FairEntry will replace Pen Reserva on Forms. More informa on will be rolled out closer to Fall Fair. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO TRY TO REGISTER YOUR EXHIBITS! 2 I m so excited to see our first Spark Club: Saving the Wild taking off this month. Youth are going to learn so much about wildlife conserva on and have a chance to learn more about the species of animals that Black Pine Animal Sanctuary cares for. Spark Clubs are a new way for youth to connect with 4 H. 3 Horse Health Plan The vaccination form 4-H-1031-W ( pages/article.aspx?intitemid=1430) must be completed and hand-carried to all 4-H Horse & Pony events. REMINDER: If you intend to show cattle, sheep, swine or goats, you will need to get a BOAH Premise ID number by going to and follow the instructions. STATE FAIR EXHIBITORS: The Indiana State Fair has moved to a completely online entry. If you need help entering an animal for the State Fair, please contact the Extension Office. Paper Entry Forms & Premium Books The State Fair is not making paper entry forms available on their website. July Summer Judging definitely would not be the same without so many people to help with setup, tear down, manning check in tables and assis ng judges! Worksheets have been mailed out to all goat members who did not a end a workshop yet this year. Worksheets are due July 6th for those exhibi ng Does. If you need a worksheet and did not receive one by end of May, please contact the Extension Office. 3

(Lower Level) 215 East 9th St., Auburn *Parking and entrance on 10th St. Summer Judging Review was started a few years ago because it was felt that although it has always been included in Livestock Review, too much me had passed between Summer Judging and the date of Livestock Review in October to have construc ve feedback. At Summer Judging Review, you can: 1. Fill out a review card for judges. Which judges did you feel did a great job and why? 2. Provide contact informa on for people you think would make great judges. 3. Recommend changes to the schedule. 4. Suggest rule changes for County Only projects like Gi Wrapping and Construc on Toy Models. 5. Give sugges ons to help make the event be er and more efficient. These displays will be used in the selec on of Master Achiever, and will be on display during the Summer Judging Ice Cream Social and Fall Fair. SPARK CLUB: Saving The Wild 4 H and Black Pine Animal Sanctuary have teamed together to offer a 3 session shortterm SPARK Club for youth to learn about the wonderful world of wildlife! Topics include Wildlife Conserva on, Natural Habitats/Domains, & Responsible Animal Care. Session dates are Tuesdays, June 6, 13 & 20 from 1:30 3:30 pm. This SPARK Club will take place at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary located at 1426 W 300 N in Albion, Indiana. The cost is $25 (non refundable). $10 for youth currently enrolled in DeKalb 4 H. The park provides a permanent refuge to exo c animals that are displaced, cap ve raised as "pets," or re red from performance. 6
