Bob and I will be leaving on Thursday and we will be participating in the selections process for the Region D Couple of the Year. We want to say in advance, thanks to everyone that has given us there prayers and support. We are so honored to be Michigan Couple of the Year Chapter W! 2012 Michigan Chapter of the Year! Monthly Gatherings Join us at our next monthly gathering at the Family Kitchen in Adrian! Family Kitchen is located at: 2984 Treat Street Adrian, MI (Intersection of Treat & US-223) Our Monthly Gathering is held the 2nd Sunday of the Month. 8:00am for social time & breakfast. Come and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow GWRRA Members and our Chapter W Family! Our next Gathering is August 9th 9:00am with breakfast first at 8:00. And a ride to Las Limas after the gathering. Gold Wing Road Riders Association Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge! We have not been able to attend as many events as we would have liked, but we have every intention of visiting as many as possible before our year comes to an end. The Rallies we have attended have been the highlight of our summer. We have met some new friends that I am sure we will keep for many years to come. We want to talk to anyone that has ever thought that they might like to participate in the Couple of the Year selection. It s so much fun and you get to meet so many people. You get involved in GWRRA in a way that makes you realize what a great organization we all belong to. As the Chapter Couple of the Year you have achieved recognition for efforts you have put into you chapter and should be so proud of that achievement. You should also think about participating in the State Couple of the year. Every year at Wingless Weekend a new Couple of the Year is selected next year that could be you. If you would like to ask us anything about the Couple of the Year program please feel free to call our number is listed on our Chapter W web site. Chapter W members please remember to bring non-perishable food items to our next gathering. We are also asking for help in the hospitality room for our State Rally so if you plan to attend plan to help if possible. Ken Kintner does such a great job keeping our calendar up to date so find a ride that fits your schedule and participate!!!!! 6 Submitted by Ken Kintner Hey everyone the Toy Run is getting close and you may ask how can I help? It s as easy as going for a breakfast or dinner ride! Does anyone like to ride? Let s visit some Chapter gatherings. I ve added them to the online Google Calendar so check it out. The Chapters in our South East Section are the ones closest to us and within riding distance so I have listed the times they meet along with the locations. The BLUE UN- DERLINED locations have a link to the meeting locations. Just CLICK! Chapter C meets the 1st Saturday of the month at The Little Brown Jug located at 7697 Blue Bush Road Maybee, MI so Saturday - August 1st. They meet for breakfast at 9am so if you can make it be sure to take some Toy Run fliers and HAVE FUN! Chapter J meets on the 1st Sunday of the month at the River Tree Community Church 3113 Lansing Ave. Jackson, MI Social starts at 3:30-4:00 PM. Gathering 4:00 PM-5:30. Chapter H2 the Downriver Wings meet the 4th Tuesday of the 6:30 pm for dinner and 7:30 meeting located at: Leon's Family Dining, 8787 Telegraph Rd, Taylor, MI. Chapter R meets the fourth Saturday of the month at 9 AM at the Charlotte Church of Christ located at 64 VanSickle Dr. Charlotte. Chapter S2 meets meet the second and fourth Saturday of the month at 10 AM at Kerby's Koney Island located at Northwestern Hwy in Southfield. DINNER RIDE CHANGE! The August 12th Dinner Ride to Harold s Place has been changed! Harold s Place had a fire awhile back and to date has not re-opened. 10 There was a discussion about our invite to ride in the Adrian 4th of July parade. Most thought it would be too hot for a slow parade ride so it was taken off the calendar. 11 Bob & Nancy Natter Southeast Section Bike Classifications From Way down South Portland bound this week! We are busy finishing up the final items for the NASCAR car. It looks as the car is very well sponsored by the good people of Michigan. The race will be on Saturday morning, stop by and watch the fun. Some of the activities going on this month starts with the Ride for Kids on Sunday August 2 nd. Chapter S2 has their Feast on August 8 th; check with the Chapter Director if you haven t purchased your tickets yet. The same weekend is the Northern Section Campout in the Soo. The next weekend is the Midnight Ride which is always fun. Then the big one The Michigan Rally in Evart at the Osceola County Fairgrounds on August This will be a busy month with lots going on. Next month is Wing Ding in Huntsville Alabama. I hear there is lots to see and do in the area. I m sure you can find some great barbeque to fill up on. Now that the rally is later in the year, the weather should be a bit more tolerable. Nancy and I will be busy almost every weekend this month, hope to see you at the events and Rallies.
