Box 484, Chanhassen, MN Winter-Spring 2013 Upcoming Meetings: Next General Membership Meeting: Monday April 22 nd 6:30 p.m. Reminder: Meetings are always the 2 nd Monday (business meeting) and 4 th Monday (social meeting) of each month. Meetings are at the Chanhassen American Legion unless otherwise noted. Business Meetings are open to all members but are required for Board Members only. All members are encouraged to attend the social meeting and invite a guest. Next Lions Club Fundraiser/Project Spring Hosta Sale date to be determined. Pushed back due to late spring (or no spring!) Note from the Editor: Lions, I am calling this edition the thank you note edition. Each year the club receives dozens of thank you notes from the various individuals and charities we serve. Included in this edition are several of those notes. I am sorry that I am not able to produce a Cat Tracks newsletter on a regular basis. I just can t seem to come up with the time. If anyone would like to take over as CAT TRACKS editor, or even just lend a hand in producing a single CAT TRACKS, give me a shout! 2 CAT TRACKS 2 WinterSpring 2013 Lions Christmas Tree Lot 2012 Although a bit late with this article the Chanhassen Lions Tree lot at Cub Foods was very successful again this season. The trees arrived the day after Thanksgiving and, as usual, there was a nice crew of volunteers to help unload and display the trees. Sales started that day and the lot was officially closed at the end of the day on Sunday December 9 th. A self-serve (pay at Cub) was then arranged for the remaining trees and all trees were gone within a week or so thereafter. Tree Lot co-chairs Dave Hess, Ed Ginsbach and Jim Lyon were pleased to report that the net proceeds exceeded $15,000 for the first time ever! Dave, Ed and Jim would like to thank everyone that volunteered their precious time during this busy time of the year. Kids Raffle Results The winner of the Rip Stik skateboard was 10 year old Justin Dennis of Shakopee and the winner of the Razor scooter was 7 year old Charlotte Carney of Chanhassen.
