1 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE # COLEYVILLE - BEST BET SILENT BLAZE BOURBON EXTENSION TRACK D GOLD COLEYVILLE is getting his first start since last September and will embark on a route venture here running for the claiming evaluation; he concluded last season with a route on turf when second best; he does indicate consecutive works at five furlongs getting ready for Cary Brooks. POOL BOY debuted April 9 th at six furlongs and closed up late suggesting even more room would help; his pedigree suggests that a route could be preferred and he gets to stretch out here around two turns. SILENT BLAZE a debut runner for Joey Gee Thoroughbreds, is by, Silent Name, and is from the same dam who produced the stakes winner, Ultraflame; he looks to have some stamina judging by his work at one mile April th in.. getting ready for Andrew Smith and Hernandez has been attracted in this two turn opener. BOURBON EXTENSION was gelded prior to his finale December 9 th but didn t have the same type of positive performance there that he did in his previous event when just on the edges; his experience around two turns should be helpful here in his seasonal bow and he has had lots of prepping. ANALYZER is one of two in the race for Colebrook Farms along with, Bourbon Extension; he will be starting for the first time and traveling a route here; he did work five furlongs May th in.00. getting ready; Mosqueira has the mount. TRACK D GOLD had a promising route last November when he stayed well in fourth; his finale was a complete letdown in the same race where Bourbon Extension was better; he goes long from the outside in this return. RACE # SENTIMENTAL LADY 7 WAVE DANCER WILD HONEY TRES BIEN TRES BIEN had racing in the spring of 07 with promising early speed against much better only to falter; she resurfaces now at a much lower level in the care of Bancroft DeSouza running with first time lasix. WILD HONEY had an April nd seasonal bow at five furlongs where she was setting the pace; she was taken down late by the favourite and settled for second; she comes right back at five furlongs at a lower level. GAL IN THE FOREST debuted April th at long odds and fell farther behind through the stretch for $0,000 at six furlongs; she shortens in distance devalues and adds lasix. SENTIMENTAL LADY a debut runner for Robert Tiller, is a daughter of, Old Forester, going in this opener at five furlongs; she was on the training track for earlier works and has been on Tapeta more recently for a couple of gate trials; Da Silva rides with blinkers and lasix. MOON OVER VICTORIA had a good race last December at six furlongs with sharp speed and gave way late; an April nd seasonal bow attracted support and she had good early positioning but slipped back; she gets to drop for $,000 and meet up with the runner up from that race, Wild Honey, once again. RECONSIDERED was pressing the pace in several races last season but did not have as good a profile through the stretch; this will be her seasonal bow and she worked recently from the gate to sharpen up. WAVE DANCER competes for Norm McKnight and was brought here from Oaklawn Park to go first time under his care May th and she was understandably favoured; she made the lead at six furlongs but was caught late by a debut runner and finished second; she looks to remedy things by shortening to five furlongs.

2 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE # BOYHOOD DREAM HANDSOME LIKE ME ABSOLUTION ROCK THE HOUSE BOYHOOD DREAM came up tagged for the first time in his career April th at Keeneland and won on the dirt for Ken and Sarah Ramsey for maiden $0,000; he had the rail post in that route event and did some work to get away from the fence to win it; he draws the rail here for Mike Maker who picks Hernandez for the ride. HANDSOME LIKE ME had some nice races last season; he has already had one try this year and raced greenly through the stretch with the blinkers off when fourth in a seven furlong race; he now goes from a sprint to a route and did have two turn experience last season when he was winning in October; the blinkers are back on. ICEBERG ALLEY has had one race this season and dropped in for $0,000 to take an edge and was able to get away from the field on the turn and into the stretch and persisted in a race where blinkers were added; he now has a new test going around two turns with a jump in value. CRUMLIN NIGHT tried three consecutive stakes engagements to end his juvenile season without producing in those races but he did take a route win last September on Tapeta with plenty of stamina; he goes long in his seasonal bow for Mike Doyle. ROCK THE HOUSE began this season in a difficult situation at seven furlongs and did well to show early speed before faltering; he won for maiden $,000 at a route last year by controlling the pace with Da Silva riding and he is aboard here for Ian Howard. ABSOLUTION is one of two in the race for Tony Gattellaro along with, Handsome Like Me; he had a bold route win last November with a deep closing style; he subsequently started in the Kingarvie but was unable to keep up there; he will go long in this seasonal bow. MIRACLE SILVER dropped down and stretched out for his second start last November and that resulted in an off the pace technique with blinkers added where he was clear at the end; he is up in value for this seasonal bow and has had plenty of spring prepping. RACE # VALIANT FLAME BLUTARSKY BE THE CHANGE PHIL IN THE BLANK BLUTARSKY was expected to win his seasonal bow which came against very reachable runners and he needed a desperate late surge to get there as the favourite to take his third lifetime win; he tries multiple winners in this event and there is plenty of speed to run at. FLASHY MARGARITA is one of several speed runners in this race; he competed on opening day for just $,000 and lost out late and is now up in value. TOBRUK is getting his first start of the year after slumping late last season; however, he did win two times in the year when he was fresh in the spring time. SNOWY LEGACY opened his campaign May th in a difficult spot where he was long odds and he contributed only early speed then was off his feet at the end; he drops down here and is one of several speed runners in the race. VALIANT FLAME is a newcomer venturing here from Oaklawn Park and joining the McKnight stable; he did not respond much on the dirt at Oaklawn but loves a synthetic surface with ten lifetime wins on such footing and now he discovers the Tapeta here. BE THE CHANGE goes for a productive jockey/trainer combination and Drexler did win Friday with a runner getting his seasonal bow; this one finished with consecutive scores last year and took his third lifetime win December th for just $,000; for this return, he goes up to the $,000 mark to face multiple winners. STREET TAIL took the big drop for $,000 last December but couldn t carry his speed and was out of the money; this will be his seasonal bow. PHIL IN THE BLANK is yet another speed contributor in this race; he began this year in an ambitious spot for $,000 where he was in against unbeatable rivals and he duelled with the eventual runner up before slipping back to fifth; with the blinkers on, he should be extra fast in the early going with the drop for only $,000. EXECUTIVE FIVE is rarely far away; he managed a couple of wins last season at Fort Erie going short on turf; he encounters several good early and middle speed types and has the widest post.

3 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE # MIDNIGHT BREW SHOW SHAPE DOLLY STORMY FLASHY PATCH DONNAS SWEET HEART won big at Penn National two outings ago for her third lifetime score; she came here to compete in a starter event of a higher value April nd and was not a factor; she gets to drop down. FLASHY PATCH began the year in a starter event with a greater worth than this and had ideal positioning from the inside but gave up some positions late in what was still a good effort; she looks to build on that performance second time out. SHOW SHAPE started the year in a near impossible spot April 9 th when in against a couple of difficult favourites and she was sixth beaten four lengths; she didn t threaten but showed some interest in the stretch suggesting with a drop in value she could be effective. THIS IS THE WAY was trying hard on the backstretch to keep pace in a difficult starter event April nd but finally finished behind in double digits without threatening. DOLLY STORMY ended last season with three consecutive wins and was in for $,00 in her finale; she begins this campaign in a starter event at a protected level; she has had a couple of works at five furlongs for Sid Attard getting set. ALLWEHAVEISNOW dropped sharply to compete for only $0,000 last July and that was her ticket home; she rallied precisely for the win at even money; this will be her seasonal bow and she is now in the care of Bruce Pollock; she indicates a couple of short works in good clockings getting ready. CAPE MIST concluded last season by dropping in for $,0 to beat non winners of three and she did it with authority; she finds herself at an elevated level to begin this campaign. MIDNIGHT BREW has such a significant class edge on this field; it is just a case of her readiness for Martin Drexler; she was a five time winner in eleven starts last season and two of those victories came for her current stable; she likes to roll in the stretch and fits nicely. RACE # EXECUTIVE SIGHT SPLIT MY PANTS SPANISH EXPRESS NUPOGODI SPLIT MY PANTS is a logical one to consider here; he had a work on Friday in.0. getting ready, his fourth consecutive prep at five furlongs; he had a series of peak events on turf in this category last year with deep closing attempts and had a victory September 0 th ; he also won on Tapeta in his seasonal bow last year; he competes for Catherine Day-Phillips. SPANISH EXPRESS had a useful seasonal bow at only five furlongs when closing on the outside to be second against an import winner from Oaklawn Park from the stable of Norm McKnight; he will look to build on that effort with the stretch to six furlongs; he can be a speed factor. EXECUTIVE SIGHT managed to win his seasonal bow but he had a complicated trip where he was locked in while waiting for room; when space was available he grabbed it late for a nice victory; he will benefit from the extra distance of today s event. NUPOGODI had a couple of nice runs last November but wasn t as good in his finale and his seasonal bow was also below par; he was in a tough event in his return race and would seem to be taking a class drop against this general group. FRONT NINE had some nice spring tries last season; he began this year without being able to keep pace in a difficult five furlong race where, Spanish Express, was second. NAPAYSHNI attracted a claim on the final day last year and he didn t do much running then following a win the time before for $0,000; he resurfaces here for in this seasonal bow. TALE OF RONIN often closed belatedly last year; earlier in the season he was more aggressive with his style; this will be his seasonal bow and he comes from the widest post; he created problems at the break in his finale last November.

4 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE #7 CLASSIC DANIEL GOLDEN EXCHANGE MARSELAN HOLTZ HOLTZ concluded last season for $,000 with a positive effort; he altered to go four wide and once in the clear, he quickened from the outside to be third narrowly beaten; he is up one level and Hernandez stays with him in this seasonal bow from the rail at just five furlongs. MARSELAN began this campaign at six furlongs and pressed the pace from the inside against, Iceberg Alley, who was dropping down and taking an edge and that rival was in race three today; he finally reported in third in his best career effort; he looks to build on that. CLASSIC DANIEL competed in consecutive routes to close out last season and the slower pace gave him the ability to stay close but he faltered in the stretch in both races; he now drops for $0,000 for this seasonal bow and shortens to only five furlongs for Nick Gonzales. HOLYSNAPENEYEBALLS showed potential in his debut last September with a late run; that first place finisher is now a stakes winner; second time out, he had some difficulty at the start and that event is best excused; he gets to drop for $0,000 for this seasonal bow. CEPELINAS improved in his April 9 th seasonal bow for $0,000 against a winner taking an edge; he was about three lengths behind the third place finisher, Marselan, and it was a nice move forward in form for him; he shortens to five furlongs. BARTMAN had early speed in his November opener for $0,000 but faltered; he gets to drop and shorten in distance with Sutherland now aboard for Peter Berringer. JIMBO FIVE went from a sprint to a route in his finale and pressed the pace but had no resolve through the stretch; his seasonal bow last year was adequate as he closed willingly; he is up in value for this. GOLDEN EXCHANGE is plunging in value here and for $0,000 last November when using the same drop down angle, he was second beaten a half length in a sharp effort; he comes from the widest post. RACE # SILENT OAKS FOREST HALO 0 CAWAJA TIME GIMBALA SILENT GOLD SAIL AT NOON was protected in both races last season without threatening; she begins this campaign for just and shows a series of half mile works getting ready for Ross Armata. FOREST HALO a homebred for Gordon and Elizabeth Lickrish is a daughter of, Old Forester, and from a dam who has produced three winners; she goes for Kevin Attard and worked April th in 7 flat getting ready. LADY REBEL a debut runner, was an auction purchase and goes for Cary Brooks; she is a full sister to the promising, Grand Fortuna; she indicates consecutive half mile works getting ready for this seasonal bow. SILENT GOLD a debut runner for James Smith is a homebred by, Silent Name, and from a dam who won regularly at Woodbine and was a good earner; she worked five furlongs from the gate May 9 th in.0.bg and Alderson will ride. SILENT OAKS is an obvious one to consider given the activity she had last season; he gave up the lead in three consecutive events to close out her campaign; in her finale at six furlongs she was finally third and the runner up has already come back to win; she worked five furlongs May 0 th in.00. for Barbara Minshall; Sutherland gets the call. HURRICANE EMILY took a step forward in form April st in her seasonal bow at this distance when she tracked behind runners and then edge forward in the lane to be fourth when, Gimbala, was second; lasix is added and she has had interim prepping on the training track. SILVER AND STARCH could not keep pace in the middle stages of her autumn debut but even though she was fourth beaten seven lengths she was going ok on the outside as the top two drew off and she missed third by two lengths; this will be her seasonal bow for Peter Berringer. GIMBALA already has four runner up finishes and was in that position in her April st seasonal bow against a first time starter who resisted her through the lane; that winner was a strong second on Friday; she remains a factor for Robert Tiller. WEE MISS DOROTHY a debut runner, is a homebred for Paul Buttigieg by, Discreet Cat, traveling just five furlongs after works over short distances getting ready including a recent gate trial and Moran will ride. CAWAJA TIME can be considered on pedigree along in this debut as her dam has already produced three stakes winners for Scott Fairlie; she is a homebred coming from the widest post with Rainford aboard and she has done most of her serious prepping on the training track the past while.
