1 JIM S JOURNAL JULY 1 TH, 01 RACE #1 1 SHOW ME THE PRIZE ADIOS MIA WHILEYOUSLEEPING FLECK SHOW ME THE PRIZE rates some consideration here; last time out she halved in value and moved over to turf and ran a good race with a late gain between rivals to be fourth at long odds; following time off she drops again and moves to Tapeta around two turns. ADIOS MIA went from a series of sprints to a route last time and handled herself well advancing from eighth to be second; she remains a factor. FLECK went off to Fort Erie last time hoping to take a maiden score on turf but that race belonged to a Woodbine shipper from the Josie Carroll stable who was the - favourite; she finally finished third narrowly out of second. RUN FOR SHANTELLE was off balance at the break last time and that ruined any chance she had; a switch is made here to Tony Maragh. WHILEYOUSLEEPING made such a good mid race move last time, yet, couldn t sustain it because of the superiority of the winner; a switch is now made to with blinkers on in hopes of measuring out his power. BEAUFILS attracted a claim May 1 st when just on the edges and, Adios Mia, was better in second; he has since run on turf and was out of the money and behind the fourth place finish, Show Me The Prize. RACE # SECOND STREET - BEST BET DEEP FREEZE 1 GORGEOUS KITTEN ARTHUR S PASS GORGEOUS KITTEN took enough of an edge for Michael Maker when introduced here June rd for $0,000 to win for the third time; he used his inside positioning to his advantage and when he got room at the top of the stretch he altered off the rail to go by on the outside; he attracted a claim by Denyse McClachrie and now jumps two price ranges and extends in distance. DEEP FREEZE won his seasonal bow June 1 th and that was predictable; he had the inside post with the action being in lane five and that was his ticket home as he scooted along the inside for his second lifetime win on turf; he is up in value here and out in distance. SECOND STREET was raced extensively at Gulfstream this winter and came here June nd to run for $0,000; the slow pace structure worked against his late running cause and when he rallied he missed narrowly to a speed rival; he comes right back for $0,000 but at a half furlong farther. ARTHUR S PASS has been protected in first allowance races this year and now drops for $,000 and Contreras is brought in for the shift over to the turf where he is a one time career winner. ENTWISTLE galloped along against a slow pace June nd and with, Second Street, he started a rally and was out kicked that one and finished third against a speed winner; the nine furlong distance will be suitable. BADJEROS BOY is an interesting one to entertain given his eleven and a half length loss against, Mr Havercamp in the Steady Growth Stakes; that was a key race from which Kingsport, came back to win the Shepperton and, Drumcliff, came back to win an allowance race; he nestles in here for $0,000 on a surface he likes; the blinkers are on.

2 JIM S JOURNAL JULY 1 TH, 01 RACE # DEESSE NIKE 1 TRINI BREWNETTE CINDERVELLA LILLIE S ANSWER TRINI BREWNETTE has been freshened since an unusually slow effort June 1 th ; she resurfaces here after a recent work at a half mile getting ready for Kevin Attard and Contreras who has been aboard for some of her better runs gets the call. DESSE NIKE had a good race going long on Tapeta two starts ago when second best behind a front runner who dominated; she was on turf last time against a dominant front runner and finished a distant second in an ok effort; she gets back to Tapeta here. H. M. S. PINAFORE is just a one time winner in her career and that came last time at a route as she had early initiative but took back off the pace and then ran forward in the lane and survived a claim of foul. WHISPERING SPEAKER is a one time winner facing non winners of three here; she did her best running in the stretch last time to be second as the favourite; she comes off a freshening. CINDERVALLA is without a win in recent times and has scored only once; she last competed June nd when she was fourth beaten three lengths sprinting on Tapeta and now she goes long on Tapeta. LILLIE S ANSWER is getting her fourth start at the meeting and is now moving over from turf where she has performed well to go long on Tapeta; she has had an interim work coming to this. RACE # SILENT CONSORT SUNSET CRUISE COOKESTOWN CREED 9 LOST POINT DIVA ON A DIME came outside rivals and closed in a menacing fashion last time at five furlongs on Tapeta to be a tight second; she was on turf the time before with a good move to mid stretch but she hung in fifth. WEDDING RING competed at Fort Erie last time and finished fourth against a winner in from Maryland who has repeated and both the second and third place finishers have come back to win with the latter scoring at Woodbine; this will be her second start of the campaign. SUNSET CRUISE was on turf for $,000 in a seasonal bow July 1 st and was slow early and was bumping with her mate in the early going and finally finished fifth beaten four lengths with a late close; she comes down one level and is an obvious contender for Mark Casse. STRAIGHTFROMEGBERT is from a dam who has produced four turf winners and she enters for turf in this opener for just $0,000 for Paul Buttigieg; she has trained on all three surfaces here with an earlier work coming on grass. COOKESTOWN CREED made a move from three wide last time but then drifted in through the home lane and finally was on the edges in the same race where, Sunset Cruise, was just a half length better in fifth. SILVER AND STARCH was on turf last time facing better than she encounters here and she had a good pace presence until late; she should benefit from this drop. HOUSE ON THE HILL came out at the break in a race June 0 th on Tapeta and then got squeezed on the backstretch and it was a forgettable performance; she had run more effectively in the early going on turf the time before but was also far back finally. SILENT CONSORT had a good race on turf two starts ago when second best against a dominant front runner and a repeat of that race will give her some standing here; the third place finisher has already come back to win; she ran on Tapeta on Queen s Plate day and was no factor. LOST POINT has been protected throughout her career but now goes for just $0,000 on a big drop following a freshening; she shortens from nine furlongs to go six furlongs here; she has had a recent work.

3 JIM S JOURNAL JULY 1 TH, 01 RACE # BREWS TOONIE TOSS SHOW SHAPE PRIDDY FAIR 7 AUDACIOUS BEAR SPLENDID GLORY reverted to her former speed approach last time and was ambitious only early; she seeks a breakthrough win. LADY ST CLEMENTS had a run in the spring time but was not a factor at long odds; she comes off the shelf here and does show two recent works. CAPTURE YOUR HEART lost here by a wide margin two starts ago and went to Fort Erie last time to run a mile on turf and finished a solid second against another visitor from Woodbine who collected top prize. SHOW SHAPE is one of the main contenders here; she had a four length loss for $1,00 at this distance at two levels higher last time; the winner has come back to score. BREWS TOONIE TOSS beat non winners of three May 0 th off the shelf; she was protected at a higher level last time where she was driving along the inside but that race belonged to a dropped down winner; she was finally fourth; she comes back underneath her winning price range of two starts ago for Norm McKnight. PRIDDY FAIR has had two races since coming home from Penn National and scored for $,000 in early May; most recently June nd for $9,00 she was a distant third behind a well removed top pair. AUDACIOUS BEAR missed over a year and returned June 17 th only to suffer an unfair start and she was declared a non starter in the event; she is beginning all over again here for Jim Ensom. RACE # TWENTYTWENTYCREST SAMS DESTINY BELLE DANSEUSE 7 LADY BELLA KHAWLAH was in for $10,000 last time at seven furlongs and was running late between rivals finishing fifth about four lengths back; she experiments with a route on Tapeta here. SOPHIAS DREAM was at Fort Erie last time on turf and finished fourth and the heavy favourite was one position in front of her in third and the runner up has come back to win; she was handed a victory two starts ago at Fort Erie through disqualification. SHEZTENTHEHARDWAY had a good enough race two starts ago in this category at a route when second and then finished third last time with a good trip; she has had an interim work; a move is made to apprentice Kimura. TWENTYTWENTYCREST had an excuse on turf in her seasonal bow; most recently she was on Tapeta and was squeezed at the break and never did enter contention; she tries a different tact here going for just $10,000; she has had an interim prep. SAMS DESTINY used the drop down angle perfectly June 0 th to get first run in the stretch and she opened up by almost six lengths and the third place finisher has come back to win and the runner up, Adios Mia, was in race one tonight; she is bred to be a stayer and she remains at a route for $10,000. BELLE DANSEUSE is worth considering; she was out of the money on turf two starts ago then took a drop for $0,000 last time where she finished just in front of Lady Bella who has also been entered and both runners are taking the big drop; the fourth place finisher from that last race ran well on Friday. LADY BELLA took the big drop two starts ago to win up on the pace; most recently, she went back up in value and from a wide post was a rank outsider and finished in eighth just behind, Belle Danseuse, and meets that one here; she goes long for the first time.

4 JIM S JOURNAL JULY 1 TH, 01 RACE #7 7 CAPTAIN GENIUS VALIANT FLAME SPEIGHTSTOWN TIME VIRGA BEAR ON FIRE started the year in Fort Erie for $10,000 and was fourth against a locally based winner; he has had an opportunity to work over the Tapeta course in the interim getting ready for this second start of the year which comes at an elevated level; he got good here last summer to win three in a row. VALIANT FLAME came from Oaklawn Park and jumped in value for $19,000 in his local introduction which came off turf; he raced on the lead but gave up the advantage desperately late and finished third beaten a neck; he is down in value. VIRGA attracted a claim when devalued last December and he has run well in both races this season including a narrow loss June th against a key winner who escaped his grasp deep in the stretch; that first place finisher came back to win again on Wednesday in fine style; he goes to Tapeta which is just fine and he comes up tagged. BUDDING was winter raced and has had three spring starts here including a runner up finish when dropped down; he returns from a freshening and positions in at an intermediate level for $1,000 following a fringe try last time. SPEIGHTSTOWN TIME is without a win yet this season but has been protected in first allowance races in all four starts including a fifteen length loss against a key winner last time that should not be held against him; he gets down for $1,000 here. COLLEEN S SAILOR came off the shelf and was in for $0,000 last time but stumbled leaving the gate and eliminated himself; he finally finished ninth at long odds; he takes a substantial drop in value here. CAPTAIN GENIUS has missed considerable time and just recently got back in the game for $0,000 where he was with the early pace but backed away and then came running in the stretch to be a tight fourth just behind, Valiant Flame; perhaps second time off the shelf he will be more thorough RACE # 7 NOT SO QUIET NEVAEH S DREAM FAHRENHEIT HARD LUCK CHARLIE DARK ALE OVERSTEERING a homebred for Bruno Schickedanz debuts here for Steven Chircop; this one is by a stakes winning sire as a two year old and from a dam who has produced five winners; he indicates consecutive works at five furlongs getting ready. SONNY S BLVD showed speed on Tapeta in his seasonal bow but backed away then went to turf last time and carried his speed more thoroughly to mid stretch then faltered in a race where lasix was added. FIRST VICTORY a debut runner for Ivan Dalos goes for Sid Attard; he is a son of, Victor s Cry, and worked from the gate June 1 th in 1.00.hg getting ready and he has since worked on turf; Contreras rides. DARK ALE found some comfort in middle claiming evaluations last year to take a couple of shares; he begins this campaign for Peter Berringer in for $0,000 at five furlongs. HARD LUCK CHARLIE a debut runner, by Queen s Plate winner, Not Bourbon, competes for Norm McKnight; he had a chance to prep June 1 st in and worked from the gate July th in.bg beating company. FAHRENHEIT raced well from a three wide position at seven furlongs on Tapeta last time and was finally fourth against a key winner who has already come back to win smartly and the seventh place finisher from that event has since dropped to win; he has been busy with some fast works on the training track getting ready for Ashlee Brnjas and now cuts back to five furlongs. NOT SO QUIET is a homebred for Heste Sport Inc. and Partner; he is a three year old by, Silent Name, who will debut here for Bill Tharrenos; he had a fast work June rd in.b getting ready and has since had a fast work from the gate in 9.bg; Hernandez has been enlisted for the mount. NEVAEH S DREAM is a full brother to the popular local runner, Nevaeh s Valentine, who was a three time winner; this one is trained by Ross Armata Jr. and is a homebred for Lucky DiLuciano Stable; he has been over on the training track getting ready and posted a fast work there June 9 th in 1.00b; he has since come to Tapeta for a gate work.
