1 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER ND, 0 RACE # ACHAINOFLOVE - BEST BET OPEONGO GLIB MARYLIN ROXHAM BLU COLLAR ROMANCE got the perfect trip to win for maiden $,00 last time but the favoured runner up did not go down without a physical fight; she scales up to face non winners of two; she goes out in distance. ROXHAM took a big drop in her second start of the meeting and there was improvement for $9,00 but she gave up a position very late and landed fourth; she is up in value and out in distance. ABOGADA was out of the money on turf two starts ago and out of the money on Tapeta when dropped down last time at a route; she got delayed in behind rivals but couldn t gain late. ACHAINOFLOVE wasn t persevered with two starts ago after a nearby spill at the top of the stretch; when she dropped down last time and added lasix for $,000 she responded on the front end and was beaten only late; she doubles in price here. OPEONGO was out of the money on turf last time and had runaway speed which had no value and her front end tactics proved unproductive; Boulanger is now brought in with the blinkers off; there is now a drop for $0,000 and a transfer to a Tapeta route for the first time; she should have the pace to herself and it is just a case of her resolve in the stretch. GLIB MARYLIN has been at this range for three consecutive tries on the edges; she was on turf last time where the winner left her behind a wall of runners while she opened up and this one recovered to be second; she now goes to Tapeta; she stays well. RACE # SILENT TANGO POST TO POST BERNARDINIS ARROW SOEXOTIC POST TO POST has been freshened up since August rd when she lost a tough decision after moving from sixth to get the lead in the stretch on turf; she was passed by an outside rallier and the third place finisher has come back to win beating, Desert Poem; she has had interim training activity on the turf for Don MacRae; she goes farther ECHO BAY hasn t had quite enough velocity to go with his perceived stamina; he was forced to scratch August 7 th and now makes his way back here in a claiming race with a shift to turf for the first time. SOEXOTIC figured to wake up when he got to turf July 7 th and he ran second at long odds; most recently, he was bothered in a chain reaction when the seventh place finisher bore out and began the interference; she is looking for a cleaner trip; Hernandez now rides. SILENT TANGO was in a quickly run race August 7 th at only six furlongs and closed vigorously to be third against a well intentioned winner; it is just a case of a stretch out here on the comeback for this second start for Stronach Stables. BERNARDINIS ARROW ran far better on a firm turf two starts ago than she did on a giving turf last time when she was flat and both of those events were quickly run and she is getting considerable relief by running for a tag here. PLACE THE BLAME had every chance last time advancing on the outside and she had some try in her deep in the lane but was only fourth; she goes from a sprint to a route. DESERT POEM missed some time and then came back in August to squeeze in two races in fourteen days the second of which was much better on Tapeta at a route when second; she goes back to turf for Tony Gattellaro who had a win in an optional event on Wednesday s card. RACE # 7 HARD LUCK CHARLIE TRUTH SERUM POINT OF ORDER MAJOR KELLY POINT OF ORDER came off the shelf July 0 th to try turf with a drop for $0,000 but lost in double digits after a rating trip; he devalues for $,000 here and goes six furlongs on Tapeta and had a good run on this footing earlier in the year. POSTMAN PAT a debut runner for Diane Smullen goes for Sean Smullen; he is by, Singing Saint, and from a dam who had stamina but this one will try six furlongs for $,000; he did have an occasion to stretch out for a recent five furlong work getting ready. JASPER PARK had speed down along the inside with three furlongs remaining last time but faltered in a slowly run race; he drops two levels. HARDY CANDY lost by a wider margin last time than in his opener and is without current momentum; he now drops for just $,000. MAJOR KELLY is getting his first start in over a year and campaigned last season at Prairie Meadows; he is now in the care of Michael McDonald and Bahen will ride in this local introduction. TRUTH SERUM looked like a winner on the turf August th ; he repositioned inside and kept up the chase in second while the winner took the overland path and beat him a length and a half; he comes right back under the same terms. HARD LUCK CHARLIE had a good enough opener July th when third against a key debuting winner who came back to win again and the runner up was recently second; he took a spin on the turf last time where he was over energetic up on the pace and he had nothing left for the stretch drive; he drops down and goes back to a Tapeta sprint and will travel six furlongs here for Norm McKnight.

2 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER ND, 0 RACE # JOSEPHINE IF YOU ONLY KNEW 9 SKY MOTHER EARTH D S BENEFACTION TOUCH ABOVE was getting her second start July th and took a substantial drop to go for $,000 and gradually faltered in that race with blinkers and lasix used; she has been busy with a series of works heading to this third career start; the blinkers are removed today. LA DOLCE UNO stopped in her previous event but continued on better with a switch to the grass August th to finish in fourth spot with, D s Benefaction, in second and that one is here; she stretches to seven furlongs. TRUE AMBITION moved well on the outside under Wilson last time for $7,00 to be fourth beaten three lengths on Tapeta; this will be her fifth try on turf. D S BENEFACTION returned from a brief freshening August th for Santino DiPaola and added blinkers and ran to the lead and was beaten only late by a longshot; she stretches to seven furlongs now and is up in value. IF YOU ONLY KNEW a debut runner for Steve Owens is from a dam who was a four time sprint winner and this one will debut at seven furlongs on the lawn with Boulanger aboard with blinkers and lasix being used; she has had a chance to work on turf recently and prior to that had worked over short distances on Tapeta getting ready. POTRA LIZA stayed on better at a route two starts ago than she did in a sprint last outing; getting out of the gate has been a challenge for her but she did have good positioning last time. STRAIGHTFROMEGBERT debuted on turf without threatening against a winner who has repeated; second time out she went down in value and finished about five lengths back with, D s Benefaction, in second. IT S GRACE was bumped in her previous event and finished on the edges on turf; most recently, she broke behind and finished ninth in a Tapeta route and the third place finisher, Blu Collar Romance, who was in race one today has come back to win. SKY MOTHER EARTH a debut runner is a family homebred and competes for William A. Sorokolit Jr. and Vandyk Sunny Stables going for Darwin Banach; she has worked over short distances getting ready and did have some exposure to the training turf course back in June; Wilson rides in this opener with blinkers and lasix being used. JOSEPHINE added blinkers last time but had a troubled trip at seven furlongs on turf when fourth against a front running winner; she steadied along the inside and finally recovered to move forward; she is down another level here and remains at seven furlongs on turf. REGIFTABLE competed second time out on Tapeta in a race that featured a slow early pace but quickening late fractions; the winner has since gone to Fort Erie to win only to be disqualified for interference. RACE # 7 SAMURAI QUEEN AMIENS SISTER NOVA THE BEAR FACTOR DANCING DOLL debuted June 0 th and a long delay at the gate had to be endured; once underway she had speed inside but she faltered; she came back to work August 0 th in a sharp 9. getting ready for this second start for Nick Nosowenko; speed is likely. SISTER NOVA a debut runner for Mike De Paulo, is by Verrazano, a winner of the Wood Memorial; this one was an auction purchase and is a half sister to, Sister Nation, a stakes winner; Hernandez has been her morning rider and has the mount in this launch. ROANSMOKE debuted July th on turf and was in a key race finishing ninth beaten five and a half lengths and the winner has come back to be third in a stake and both the second and third place finishers have since won; for this second start she adds lasix and goes to Tapeta. POTTAHAWK a debut runner for Lisa Burry, has worked from the gate in recent trials and had some late movement August th ; she goes just six furlongs in this opener with Bahen. THE BEAR FACTOR debuted August th for Bear Stables but her actions in the gate eliminated her; after a brief pace presence she faltered out of the money; she has since worked in 9. on the track getting ready for this second start. AUNT TILLIE has had speed in both races to date and was in against a dominant front running winner last time; she faltered late; both the second and third place finishers have come back with wins. SAMURAI QUEEN a debut runner for Barbara Minshall is a homebred for Joey Gee Thoroughbreds by, First Samurai, and from a dam who was a sprint winner; she worked a half mile back on August th in 7. getting ready and Contreras was aboard for an August th work in.. JOLIE BAY had a close up run at six furlongs on turf two starts ago at Belmont; following an out of the money finish last time where she veered out from the widest post she is here to try six furlongs on Tapeta for Mark Casse. CALAIS CAT a homebred for Kinghaven Farms is by the popular, English Channel, but will travel only six furlongs on Tapeta for Ian ; Wilson has orchestrated her morning activities with the accent on late energy. VERRADASSAH a debut runner for Kevin Attard is a second representative here by the Wood Memorial winner, Verrazano; she worked five furlongs recently in.0. in company; Husbands rides. AMIENS debuted July st and was late getting out of the gate then moved forward gradually; both the second and third place finisher have come back to win; there is more room available here and that is an asset. DURDLE DOOR a debut runner is a second representative here for Lisa Burry and is by, Archarcharch, a stamina source on turf; she comes from the widest post with Alderson.

3 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER ND, 0 RACE # DESDEMONA 9 TYPICALLY BLACK SAGE RATTLESNAKE BITE IRISH TEARDROP has been out of the money in all races this season but is dropping to a new low and the stable did have success Wednesday with a nice winner. ONLY ESSA competed for $,000 on turf last time at this distance and advanced from eleventh to be sixth only four lengths back and the fourth place finisher from that race, Peace Seeker, has come back to beat several of these. HAPPYCREST got down to the $0,000 mark two starts ago on Tapeta with an improved third but faltered on the edges last time and now returns to turf after a two race absence. WUK UP QUEEN a debut runner for Tedston Holder is certainly bred for grass top and bottom; she had some initial works in the spring time but has been back getting ready since mid July for this launch. LA VIE EN ROSE suffered interference two stars ago and that explains her wide loss; most recently, she was in front early but finished tenth on turf. SUGAR ME SWEET had a quiet approach last time then moved in the middle stages only to hang; she drops in value and shortens in distance. TREASURE FINDER was in a race two starts ago on turf where both the fourth and fifth place finishers have come back to win; most recently, she started a rally but stalled on turf. DESDEMONA had consecutive route races and ran the same way and was without sufficient energy deep in the stretch both times; she starts over here and has been reprogrammed for the drop for $9,000 and now goes with Husbands with a shift to a turf sprint. TYPICALLY had the same type of result at a longer distance on turf last time than she did in a turf sprint two starts ago when she produced late energy; Wilson returns after a one race absence. BLACK SAGE was somewhat rank last time near the pace in behind rivals and retreated; the fifth place finisher has come back to win and both the second and third place finishers have come back to do well; she gets to plunge in value and Lermyte takes over. RATTLESNAKE BITE is inconvenienced by this wide post in her debut traveling six and a half furlongs on turf; she was an auction purchase and is by, Rattlesnake Bridge, who was second best in the Travers; she worked on turf back on August th getting ready and has attracted Hernandez for Mark Casse. RACE #7 LEGAL GUMP 7 BEN LOMOND DISTINCT PASSION MAGICAL MAN WATER POLO got down for $0,000 last time and had more prominence throughout finishing third but weakened late with the lead; the first place finisher has since been third for $0,000. MAGICAL MAN had a wake up run second time out sprinting on Tapeta last November; this will be a belated first start of the season and he travels only six furlongs; he indicates a work August th in.. getting ready for Gail Hughes. LEGAL GUMP attracted a claim by Robert Rose July th and was introduced to a new style of running last time using his galloping tendencies from off the pace and he rallied to be third in an improved performance; Kimura once again has the mount. WESTERN GHOST a homebred for Chiefswood Stable debuted July nd at Fort Erie against a dominant winner in from Woodbine and was third; second time out he won rather easily drawing away from three rivals; he now comes onto the open market for $0,000 against non winners of two. ALACRITOUS was out of the money on turf when troubled and beaten nineteen lengths two starts ago; he came back on Tapeta at the same price last time and won in front at - for a maiden score. DISTINCT PASSION has been in against a couple of key winners the past while and has been overwhelmed after his pace contributions were wasted; he gets in against a more reachable group here. BEN LOMOND had an out of the money finish on turf last time but his previous series of races were good enough to be considered a factor on Tapeta. CAT S WHISPER woke up with a rally at - two starts ago and the rival just in front of him in second has already come back to win; he came back last time and was in against a tougher group and went flat although his performance rating was similar. ARNIE THE KING came off the shelf July nd and surprisingly was used up on the pace; following his out of the money finish on turf last time he gets back to Tapeta and remains protected. RACE # 7 SCREENWRITER NIIGON S LEGACY PERFECTION CAT ALICE S WAR ALICE S WAR is being moved to the stable of Sylvain Pion who won Wednesday night in the Halton Stakes first time off the claim with English Illusion; she has been steady on turf but was out of the money on the lawn as recently as two starts ago; she ran well on Tapeta last time; she indicates a recent work in 9. on the training track. POWER EMPIRE was on Tapeta July 7 th when getting back to the races and finished fourth in the same race where, Alice s War, always had better positioning and was second; she will now move to turf at nine furlongs in hopes of improving second time off the shelf. PERFECTION CAT came off the shelf July th and ran well at seven furlongs on turf to be third in an attempt to steal in front; however, she was caught late by the winner who came from last; she has had more time between races and now extends to nine furlongs her longest race to date. NIIGON S LEGACY was the heavy favourite August st in a first allowance race at a distance just short of this one and she elected to go up and be the pacemaker then was encountered through the stretch by, Screenwriter, who took the lead away from her but she fought back and got the place award over that rival while both were passed by the rallying winner. PURE PURITY attracted a claim for $,000 last time when she dropped down to ensure a victory on turf at a mile and she rushed home on the outside; she faces a tougher challenge here but is now in the hands of Norm McKnight getting ready to go farther.

4 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER ND, 0 DYNA S MISCHIEF did not reach contention in a June th seasonal bow and has taken more time to build up in recent works getting ready and Contreras who has been aboard in the morning rides again for Josie Carroll. SCREENWRITER was returning from considerable time away August st and she went up to take the lead away from Niigon s Legacy in the stretch but she wilted with the advantage and finally finished third; she has had interim prepping getting ready to move forward at this longer distance. RACE #9 WYATT S TOWN HEMP HEMP HURRAY RUN AWAY CAPTAIN THUNDER RUN AWAY was introduced here July th after coming from California and he finished third against, Wyatt s Town, and, Hemp Hemp Hurray when chasing the pace all the way; he has since had an interim trio of works for Josie Carroll getting ready for his second start locally for Kaleem Shah Inc. DRIVEN BY HISTORY comes in for trainer Teresa Connelly from Presque Isle and ran a strong race there two starts ago earning a high rating when second; a comeback performance was a letdown effort as she faded in sixth but all was not lost as her stable mate the - favourite was prominent on the pace all the way to win easily; Pablo Morales takes over for Carl L. Hess Jr.; he has been supplemented into this event and worked five furlongs recently at home in 9.. WYATT S TOWN attracted a claim by Norm McKnight May 7 th at Churchill Downs when winning for $0,000; he captured a first allowance race there June th in front; when he came here for the King Corrie at six furlongs he was introduced to a synthetic surface and was made the - favourite; he ran in spurts with a thrust around the turn to open up and while he sagged late he held off, Hemp Hemp Hurray, by a length; he has had two subsequent works at a half mile getting ready for Henley Thoroughbreds Ltd. and Newtop Stables for Norm McKnight. CAPTAIN THUNDER had a successful debut for John C. Oxley and trainer Mark Casse August th at seven furlongs; he did his best running late; he won an early fight with his stable mate who was third; he has had a couple of works in the interim including a move August th in 7.; Boulanger rides once again. HEMP HEMP HURRAY is usually dominant in his wins; he returned from Ascot after being overwhelmed by the tough, Expert Eye, in the Group Jersey Stakes; he went to the King Corrie and was handed over to trainer Michael Maker; he came strongly off the turn gaining to mid stretch and was finally second beaten a length by, Wyatt s Town; he meets that one again for Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey. RACE # BOLD ANIMAUX REALLYLIKETHISONE WAGE ACCELERATION REBEL MUSIC MONEY TALKS HAMPSTEAD HEATH closed four wide from the second flight to mid stretch and then hung late in the race against a dropped down winner while, Wage Acceleration, was third; Contreras lands here. MONEY TALKS had every chance to win August th racing to the outside of, Big Bazinga, through the stretch but lacked the force to put that one away and settled for second; he remains a contender. REALLYLIKETHISONE fits nicely with these as he comes down to the $,000 mark after a runner up finish in a starter event on turf at nine furlongs last time; Boulanger retains the mount. SKY MARSHAL is dropping for this event after a perfect trip near the pace last time that resulted in a narrow win but at only six furlongs; he must go out to a mile here for Barbara Minshall. WAGE ACCELERATION is a contender; when he stretched to a route August th on turf for $,000 he was third beaten a length by a dropped down winner; he came out to make his run and seemed to hang right near the finish; he did win two starts ago when capturing his third lifetime win on turf; Campbell now rides. MACHO BREW a runner of considerable size couldn t get motivated in time for $,000 on turf last time and now comes down in value. VINTAGE TIME goes for high percentage trainer Robert Johnston and this one was at Presque Isle recently to run on the edges; he is a one time turf winner and that came in April at Tampa. BIG BAZINGA took the big drop in hopes of a wake up win August th and he was made the heavy favourite and turned back, Money Talks, the length of the stretch for his initial win of the campaign and his third lifetime turf score. MIND MAGIC dropped in for $,000 last time and was a disappointment when sixth against, Big Bazinga. REBEL MUSIC is one to entertain given his good race here June rd ; his failure of July 9 th was a result of a poor departure from the gate; he has since won big at home at Fort Erie and he handled turf well then. ITSTARTSWITHADRINK was going ok late first time off the claim for Anthony Pottinger when, Wage Acceleration, was better in third last time. BOLD ANIMAUX has been in recent marathons and has travelled too quickly on the pace; he was in a key race last time and the third place finisher has since won a stake; he shortens to a mile and puts the blinkers on after a one race absence and plunges for $,000 in search of his seventh turf win. CHRIS BREW will compete only if this event goes on Tapeta; he was a bit of a disappointment for $,000 last time, yet, had run so much better the time before on Tapeta.
