1 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE # SWEET RETREAT PRINCESS MACY TRIPLE CHOCOLATE I GOT SILENT EGO TRIPLE CHOCOLATE comes from the Scott Fairlie stable which has had significant spring results here; this one was in competition March rd at Penn National when second against a winner who has already been unplaced at the this meeting at an elevated level; she is one of the speed runners in the race. PRINCESS MACY is a speed competitor most times and that was the case April 9 th in her seasonal bow but she sagged through the stretch giving up several positions late as the favourite at this price; with the stretch to seven furlongs she will have a chance to utilize her speed. I GOT SILENT EGO couldn t overcome post fourteen in her finale but ran well on the pace at long odds when plunged for $0,000; she begins the year for $9,000 and has won the services of Hernandez; she indicates consecutive works at five furlongs. MILWAUKEE THUNDER lacked any speed in a five furlong seasonal bow but now gets to drop sharply and extend in distance and those factors should combine for a better performance. ABBY GRACE missed about fifty three weeks when coming back to compete December 0 th ; not much was expected at 0- but she was beaten only four lengths; she begins this campaign with a plunge to a level lower than before and she now gets more room; Mosqueira rides. SWEET RETREAT started the year by taking a significant edge for $,00; she had power in the stretch to run down the speed; the additions of blinkers seemed to help; she goes up in value here and extends to a distance farther than ever before. RACE # ALILACTION STORMBEAM 7 KOWBOY S DEELITE BENADETTE S LADY ALILACTION missed time heading to a win when using the drop down angle last July; she has missed more time and is using the drop down angle once again to go for only $,000 in hopes of catching up with the speed. SPLENDID GLORY was able to generate her typical early speed in her April nd seasonal bow against the boys for $,000 but faltered and now she gets in against the girls for just $,000 but she must travel a furlong farther. POLY ANNA was winter raced at Penn National with no success but only double digit losses; she has had a chance to train locally getting ready. STORMBEAM won a couple of races for Colebrook Farms this winter at Gulfstream defeating non winners of two and then non winners of three last time; she made a nice bid on the turn in that last event; she has had time for local prepping and has attracted Hernandez. BENADETTE S LADY raced well enough here last December to win a race when dropped for $,000; her May th seasonal bow lacked production; she uses the cutback angle to go only six furlongs here with a drop in price. SCINDIA had an April th bridge race at Mahoning Valley to get ready; she had early speed on that occasion but not enough staying power; she has been training at home at Fort Erie. KOWBOY S DEELITE was able to win at Tampa for $,000 at a route in March and most recently was a distant third there; the favourites dominated on that occasion; she is a newcomer to Woodbine. RACE # YORKTON SAN NICOLA THUNDER MAJESTIC SLEW IKERRIN ROAD IKERRIN ROAD competed on opening day in the Jacques Cartier and was seen as one of the contenders but raced about five lengths off into the turn and was done by the top of the stretch; he looks to go forward in this second start of the meet; he did chase home, Pink Lloyd in the Kennedy Road stakes last November and was one of the best local sprinters. YORKTON started the year April th at Keeneland finishing on the edges in a race where long shots dominated; he competes for Chiefswood and goes for Stuart Simon who has already had success at the meeting; he looks to shake his four race out of the money streak; Da Silva who had some success with him last year, has been enlisted. CIRCLE OF FRIENDS was good to begin last season but was out of the money in four consecutive races to close out the year while usually on the edges; he has been training for hot conditioner Robert Tiller who already has six wins at the meeting and will ride with the blinkers off. SAN NICOLA THUNDER was one of the best local competitors last year with four wins and significant earnings; he begins this campaign once again in for the claiming portion; his best performances come with aggressive stalking strip; his finale was ruined last December rd when he had such a bad stumble from the gate; Contreras has been a good partner for him for Martin Drexler. MAJESTIC SLEW was very good last spring for Mike De Paulo; he started this year April st in the Jacques Cartier and showed some willingness to continue in fourth beaten about six lengths by, Pink Lloyd.

2 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE # KYSLIOS S JUSTICE EPILOGUE SHANTY TOWN SCARLET FORESTER ARGYBARGY had a April 9 th seasonal bow for $0,000 and sat outside within range but had no offering through the stretch at long odds; he gets to tumble sharply in for $7,00; he has had an interim work at a half mile and Ryan takes over. KYSLIOS S JUSTICE had a bountiful run May th for trainer Julie Belhumeur at six furlongs and more room is added here; he came up the rail and altered between rivals and was moving faster than most and gained third spot; the benefits of winter racing were evident in that strong performance; he stretches to seven furlongs. EPILOGUE was getting his seasonal bow and just his third start ever April st ; he was bothered at the break; he did well to get back in the race and finish fourth beaten only a length and the winner has already come back to score; he goes from five to seven furlongs for Carlos Grant who has already had success at the meeting. SCARLET FORESTER opted to get in a pace fight with the winner in an April st seasonal bow where he took support with blinkers on but he backed away late in that quickly run race; he stretches out to seven furlongs for this second start. LIL OLD FORESTER had a wide post in his April st seasonal bow when plunged for $,000 and he was sent off at long odds; he couldn t keep pace through the stretch; the winner has already come back to score and the fourth place finisher in the race, Epilogue, is here. D S DARK KNIGHT was winless last year in nine trips but was a fringe player last November; he did have some of his best form early last year when he was fresh and he is fresh again now. BEHOLD HE COMETH took a big drop for his finale October th but after threatening on the pace in the middle stages, he weakened; he now goes for a reduced sum at seven furlongs in this return for Gord Colbourne. SHANTY TOWN had a booming race at seven furlongs last November for $7,00 when just on the edges; his finale was also good with a deep close; he tries seven furlongs in this seasonal bow from the widest post for Zeljko Krcmar. RACE # RINCE TAPAIGH SWEET ESCAPE SOLON S WARNING MY PAL KATHERINE GABRIELS JOY concluded last season with a win when dropped in for only $,000 and she made an advance inside to win it; her stable has already had success at the meeting with a Florida trained winner and this one shows works in Florida getting ready for Julie Belhumeur. RINCE TAPAIGH has a bit of a class edge on most of these and it is just a case of her readiness for Tino Attard in this first start since December when she slumped on the edges; she needed a couple of races last year before she hit her best stride; Contreras knows her very well. SOLON S WARNING attracted a claim for $,00 last December when second best as the favourite and enjoyed positive form over an extended series of races then; her finale however which came in a protected spot was significantly lacking and she finished at the back; she starts this campaign for Cole Bennett and has prepped regularly. LAILAS PRINCESS rarely picks route races on Tapeta but will be going from a five and a half furlong opener when on the edges to a two turn race here; she is just a one time winner in her career. AUNT SUE is one of two in the race for Scott Fairlie along with My Pal Katherine and she has been here prepping getting ready; she got down to the $,000 mark to be competitive last November when third; her only win of the campaign came early in the summer time when she was in much better form. SWEET ESCAPE is an obvious one on form given her seasonal bow at seven furlongs where she closed belatedly; while the Chircop stable is off to a slow start, this one seems to be well spotted with a chance to build on that sprint opener. THALIAS FIRE had some winter training in Florida for Julie Belhumeur and is one of two in the race for the stable along with Gabriels Joy; she has had an opportunity for a couple of local works; she won her finale here last November nd when defeating non winners of three and she was persistent in the stretch at a route. MY PAL KATHERINE took her third lifetime win February rd at Penn National and seemingly enjoyed the slop better than the fast track she encountered last time when she used a more aggressive style and then stopped; she has done some effective running here in the past and did score for $9,00 here last December. RACE # ELLAS MY LOVE - BEST BET DOT S VISION DAVKA CRY BAO ELLAS MY LOVE had a good race in March at Gulfstream and then trained well here heading into an April th return; in the Queenston Stakes he had a less than ideal journey but was closing well on the outside to be fourth beaten just two lengths by Silent Sting; that performance highlights him here as a likely choice with Hernandez now aboard; he has the rail again. GET MY GIST was engaged in a heated pace duel with the eventual last place finisher in his seasonal bow and finished just one position in front of that sagging rival. DOT S VISION had some deep closing efforts last summer for a maiden win and a runner up finish at seven furlongs; perhaps one can look beyond the poor result of Cup & Saucer on difficult footing; he begins this year for one of the hottest stables going for Scott Fairlie with Rainford aboard.

3 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 ARRIUS found a proper spot for maiden $,000 to win last November when dominating the pace; he is up in value to begin this campaign. DAVKA has been competing in New York in difficult starter events and had a peak effort there February th but hasn t been as good in his last two races and endured some difficulty two starts ago; he has been here for a series of preps getting ready to try the synthetic surface for the first time for Mark Casse and Boulanger rides. ZUCKER resurfaces as a gelding for this seasonal bow after a winning conclusion to his season which came for maiden $,000; he had his fastest work of the spring recently. AGENT EIGHTY SIX comes from the hot stable of Robert Tiller and is getting his second start of the meeting; he made a bid on the pace at five furlongs in his return but gave away positions late; he will extend to six and a half furlongs here. CRY BAO came from the rail post in his April 9 th seasonal bow but finally worked his way to the outside and had a strong finish to be second best at only five furlongs; he had a good race at seven furlongs here last December; he will try six and a half furlongs on the stretch out. RACE #7 BIG MISTAKE HEART RUSH SKY VISION CINDERVELLA SKY VISION had an April nd seasonal bow at five furlongs and opened up a clear advantage then was tackled by the - favourite and faded to be second with Princess Niigon a distant third; she stretches to six furlongs and has had a quick interim work in 7 out in.00.. BIG MISTAKE was competitive in all three races last season with an opening win and consecutive fringe tries; this will be her seasonal bow for Paul Buttigieg and the stable has been competitive on the edges this spring. CINDERVELLA rushed away in her finale on the lead but grew weary and stopped; she failed to win last season and was in fact shareless; the blinkers are off for this seasonal bow. PRINCESS NIIGON has had an opener at that came at five furlongs in the same race where Sky Vision was much better in second; she pursued the pace but was overwhelmed when a distant third. GREAT GRETA found an appropriate spot December th to produce an effective late rally; she was far on the outside and made it just in time at long odds; she indicates three five furlong works getting ready. HEART RUSH competes for the high percentage stable of Denyse McClachrie and will be getting her first start of the year; she was positively consistent for most of last season and was second best in her finale October th ; will be aboard in this seasonal bow. FORESTELLA was well below her best in an April nd seasonal bow when her off the pace tactics did not work effectively and Sky Vision was much better in second; she now has more room here and goes first time off the claim for Vito Armata. TREETOP SINGER had a successful launch to the season April nd as she won a duel inside and took a maiden score for Denyse McClachrie who also has Heart Rush entered; she now tries winners. RACE # DREAM IT IS CLOSER STILL MAGIC SPELL SLY BEAUTY SLY BEAUTY is one of two in the race for Mark Casse along with Closer Still; she won big here on a yielding turf last spring; she most recently started at Gulfstream in March where she was a distant fourth against a tough winner who beat her in a pace duel; she has had an opportunity to work here in 9.. WILD LUTE showed vast improvement in her May th seasonal bow to take a maiden score; she was perfectly ridden by who had her going quietly in the early furlongs before taking over and widening for trainer Tony Gattellaro; she takes a jump in class here. CLOSER STILL raced well here last December to win on Tapeta by dominating the pace for her second win; she also raced well on turf early at the Gulfstream meeting in an added money race when second best; she subsequently failed her first ever route and has been here for prepping getting ready to cut back to six furlongs; was aboard for her recent work in.00. MAGIC SPELL was a winner here in late season and had a subsequent race at Gulfstream in an added money race where she could not keep up; her seasonal bow was a fine performance going short on the turf at Keeneland in what was a speed contest by the top two; she now gets back to Tapeta and worked on that surface May th with Boulanger in a sharp 7. for Gail Cox. DREAM IT IS was impressive for Hoolie Racing Stable as a juvenile winning all three races including the Grade Schuylerville at Saratoga; she began this campaign April th at Keeneland with a speed try but came up shy at seven furlongs and the runner up has since been third in the Grade Eight Belles; she has been here for a couple of works and had Contreras aboard for a move April th in.0; she had more of a speed work May th in 7 getting ready for Barbara Minshall; lasix is added.

4 JIM S JOURNAL MAY TH, 0 RACE #9 HOLD EMFORRANSOM COURT SAVVY PERFECT FORESTER SPEIGHTSTOWN TIME SPEIGHTSTOWN TIME had some good efforts last season using a variety of approaches but mostly a speed theme; this will be his seasonal bow and he comes from the rail for Steven Chircop with aboard and he was up for a win last summer; he worked May th in.00.. PERFECT FORESTER was a three time winner last season and got up to the first allowance level late in the season for positive results; in his seasonal bow he was jostled at the break then made his way into a clear spot for the stretch run and finished third at even money; Hernandez who took over last time retains the mount for Norm McKnight. COURT SAVVY had interrupted campaigning last season but when he came back last October he had a peak race at six and a half furlongs in this category when a strong second; he worked recently in 7. with Boulanger aboard. WHO S GOT IT has had a return race and got down towards the inside from the rail post and was hustling along without reaching contention; Contreras takes over in this second start of the campaign HIPP SMITT goes for the hot stable of Scott Fairlie; he has had a race at the meeting which came at this level and he finished fourth just three lengths behind the third place finisher, Perfect Forester, as he closed from the outside. HOLD EMFORRANSOM is getting his first start of the year and he switched over to Tapeta late in the season for a good sprint race when second narrowly beaten; he made his way off the rail and to the outside; he gets to start from the outside in this seasonal bow for Ian Black who had him work April 9 th in.; this will be his seasonal bow RACE #0 EESTI STAR 7 JOSEPHINE GIOVANNA PONTI CONQUEST BAD GIRL DUBHE GALS GOT RHYTHM lost in double digits to conclude last season; she draws the rail post here and has worked over short distances getting ready. COLLUDING had a positive debut last December with a rushing move in the stretch to be fourth at long odds; she was heavily bet to begin this campaign in a protected spot but after racing three wide in contention she stopped; she has had an interim prep and now drops in for straight claiming $,000. EESTI STAR was up close under restraint December 9 th but when asked to perform in the stretch she couldn t go effectively; she gets to drop back to the level at which she was second last December; she has been busy with half mile works for a trainer off to a terrific start at the meeting. MISS G NOTE seemed to do her best running from off the pace last year but traded that style for an up front approach in her seasonal bow which came for just $0,000 and she was second best; she cuts back in distance for this second start and is up in value. DUBHE a debut runner for Canvasback Farms debuts for Dan O Callaghan; she is a four year old daughter by Stephen Got Even from an unraced dam; she has been here for a series of works and surfaces here for $,000 with Bahen riding. CONQUEST BAD GIRL gave away some value to start this season running for a tag and was just on the edges as the favourite; she had ideal positioning but disappointed; she now comes into a straight claiming event with a devaluation for Ross Armata Jr. JOSEPHINE attracted a claim last October and in her second start following the acquisition was third here with lasix off; she had a recent work on the training track getting ready to begin this campaign and drops down for this return. GIOVANNA PONTI was winter raced and came here April th as one of the favourites; she had a three wide speed position with every chance to win it but missed narrowly and the first place finisher, Treetop Singer, was in race seven; the blinkers are on for Abraham Katryan. SINFUL PLEASURES ended last season on a high note for $0,000 but started this season in a protected evaluation and was not able to keep up with Giovanna Ponti; she now drops for $0,000 in this second start and has had interim prepping.
