1 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, 0 RACE # ADMIRALS COVE BOURBON FIRST CHRIS BREW BEAR AT LAST CAT ZAPPER is getting his first race since August th when he was narrowly beaten for $,000 on turf; he laid in through the stretch and had to be pulled off a rival and that proved costly; he now goes to Tapeta. CHRIS BREW dropped in for $0,000 two starts ago and was inconvenienced by a slow pace and was locked in traffic; most recently, he came all the way down to the $,000 mark where he disappointed; he now comes down two more levels here and Wilson now takes over. BEAR AT LAST ran strongly for $,000 in July when narrowly beaten; he got back down to that level August th without producing and has been freshened; he now drops two levels for $,000 for this return which comes with Hernandez. ADMIRALS COVE took late money August th when coming down in value in a turf race and he laid in a bit but continued to fight with others on the pace only to have a dropped down winner sail by on the outside and beat him a half length; he comes right back at the same price but now on Tapeta and he worked recently on this footing for Norm McKnight. RUN TO THE BANK was close by two starts ago for $,000 on turf; most recently, he was on turf when, Admirals Cove, had a better result in second. BOURBON FIRST was close by for $,00 two starts ago; most recently, he went up in value into too tough a spot and the winner had a booming performance that day to leave him in fifth; he drops sharply for $,000 and gets a quick return. RACE # INTANGA ROSE SI SI TEQUILA LADY AZALEA AVALON SI SI TEQUILA competed August th over a surface made difficult because of heavy rain in the, Catch A Glimpse Stakes; she steadied herself on the turn and then had no impact against a dominant winner; two starts ago she won on Tapeta and beat, Artilena, who has since come back with a dominating win and the third place finisher has also since come back to win; she now gets back to Tapeta and had a recent work in 9. STEP BY STEP last competed in late July and opened up a three length lead in a five and a half furlong race and was able to persist by a half length for a maiden score in her second start; lasix and blinkers were added for that occasion; she now comes off the shelf and runs with a $7,000 claiming evaluation. LADY AZALEA looked good winning on turf two starts ago with Hernandez aboard; most recently, she went to the Catch A Glimpse Stakes which was run on difficult terrain after heavy rain and she did not react well; she tries Tapeta for the first time in her career here for Roger Attfield. INTANGA ROSE is an extremely well bred individual by, Animal Kingdom, and from a dam who was a three time Group winner; she had a successful debut August th despite competing at a distance that was significantly short by her preference; she came around runners at the top of the stretch and drew off; she had been under consideration for the upcoming Natalma and worked on turf recently to get ready but will go here in this short field for Sid Attard while staying on Tapeta now at six furlongs. AVALON couldn t handle, Intanga Rose, first time out but second time out dropped for a selling evaluation and romped; she is in for a $7,000 claiming evaluation today but must meet up again with, Intanga Rose. RACE # BLU WITHOUT YOU BAKERSFIELD MAJESTIC FEVER TINKER RING MAJESTIC FEVER is using the drop down angle here and that is generally a positive approach for this stable; last time against a difficult winner he moved outside for the stretch run but couldn t gain; the drop for $9,000 is an obvious solution. BAKERSFIELD was aggressive on the pace for $9,000 last time and was able to win the early pace fight and go against the bias but then was beaten late by a rallying winner from the Ensom stable; he comes right back at the same price but at a furlong farther here. TINKER RING attracted a claim when dropped down last time for $0,000 when second best; it looked as if he had the race won but the McKnight favourite came back to his inside and took it away from him at the last moment; that winner has since dropped to win for $7,00 while this one now goes for Jim Ensom for $9,000 despite being forced to scratch September st. BIG BLACK STORM was in a key race last time and was completely overwhelmed when, Bakersfield, was second while this one was far behind. BLU WITHOUT YOU was in the ultimate key race last time in his introduction to turf and he was delayed behind runners in the stretch and didn t threaten; the winner has since been second in the Play The King while both the second and third place finishers have come back to win smartly; following that out of the money finish on turf he drops for $9,000 and moves to Tapeta and won on Tapeta two starts ago. BRACKET CREEP was sprinting in a series of events then went long on turf last time and gave up a big lead and finished out of the money; he now goes to Tapeta at a shorter distance.

2 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, 0 RACE # I SE DUBAI JAIL TIME CRIME WAVE KUCHEROV OVERSTEERING was at five furlongs when dropped for $,000 last time and was used in a chasing mode against a strong front running favourite and finished third with, Major Gordon, faltering behind him in fourth; he remains at a short distance. KUCHEROV tried a speed approach July 9 th at a much higher level but was overwhelmed by another speed runner and stopped late in the stretch; most recently, he got onto to turf with a drop for $0,000 and again tried to go to the lead at too fast a clip and understandably faded out of the money when losing a battle to the winner who pressed him on the pace; now he runs for just $,000 at five furlongs with a shift to Tapeta with the blinkers off. JAIL TIME dropped second time off the shelf September st for $0,000 at six furlongs and tried to steal that event in front but was overtaken late by a debut runner from the Sid Attard stable; he gets to shorten to five furlongs here as one of several speed influences in the race. I SE DUBAI was getting his first start of the year September st and opted to drop for $0,000; he had been forced to scratch earlier in the year; he moved up and was used inside and tried to continue and was fifth beaten three lengths with, Jail Time, in second and, Crime Wave, in third; he is capable of improving second time out in the year; he goes shorter. DREAMIN OF JENNY was forced to scratch August nd when he was hopeful of getting his second run of the campaign after a failed seasonal bow August th where he had ineffective speed; he faltered to be about eight lengths behind the third place finisher, Jail Time. CRIME WAVE looked like he had a chance to have an impact last time when he departed an out of the money finish on turf and went to Tapeta for only $0,000; however, he laid in at a crucial time and needed more thrust but that opportunity passed and he had to settle for third money; he at least has a style that will allow him to run from off the pace against many conflicting speed types here; this will be his shortest race. MAJOR GORDON was aggressive on the pace last time getting the early lead but a dropped down runner from the Casse stable soon displaced him and left him a weakening fourth with, Oversteering, in third. BARTMAN ran well enough July nd with a rally for $,00 to be considered here; he was involved in some bumping through the stretch and sagged a bit at the end; one can perhaps look beyond his out of the money finish on turf last time; he now gets down for $,000 and has a chance to run at the speed; he wears bar shoes. RACE # 7 PINK SCRIBBLES SILENT MEMORIES MAHONE BAY IRISH YOU LUCK ZAMBEZI RIVER a debut runner for Gord Colbourne is a sister to Beth s Aurora who was third here on Saturday; she has utilized the gate frequently for preps and has the services of Devon Johnson in this launch from the rail post at five furlongs. CON ARTIST debuted in a five furlong race on Tapeta but didn t get close against better opponents; she went to the turf last time and tried a speed approach but faltered; she now drops for $,000 and goes back to Tapeta. WILBURNRUBBER has been engaged in pace duels in both races to date and has lost them both; she tried to steal away last time but was reeled in late; she comes down in value and has had interim prepping on two occasions this month; she goes five furlongs. MAHONE BAY had the misfortune of getting into a key race August 0 th and her pace gamble did not pay off; she faded to ninth; the winner came back to capture the Muskoka and the runner up has come back to win while the fifth place finisher has since come back to beat, Pink Scribbles; she drops down and has had training this month; she shortens to five furlongs. NAUPAKA a debut runner for David Bell is from a dam who had some early production but not as much lately; she has been working from the gate over short distances recently getting ready. IRISH YOU LUCK is a debut runner for Nigel Burke whose earlier runner at the meeting fired with speed in it s debut; this one goes five furlongs for just $,000 and has used the gate for recent preps getting ready; she is by, Drill, a Grade winning juvenile in California. PINK SCRIBBLES debuted August th and showed some ability to stay on in a five furlong race against Ontario sire company; she was driving on the outside in the run down the backstretch and finished in the runner up spot; with so many speed types in the race her style should be helpful. SILENT MEMORIES debuted at long odds in a key race and got shuffled back and was unable to threaten; the first, second and fifth place finishers have all come back to win; she has been active twice this month with training moves and drops sharply for $,000 and goes just five furlongs.

3 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, 0 RACE # 7 MIDNIGHT BREW COBRA SOPHIE DUBLIN DIVA LIDDYUP COBRA SOPHIE dropped in for $,000 last time at a mile on turf and sat quietly off the pace and then made her way forward inside to be third one position behind the runner up, Liddyup, who is here; she now shortens to seven furlongs. LIDDYUP had a good run on turf when fresh in her previous start to win narrowly and the runner up has come back to win; most recently, she jumped to this level at a mile on turf and produced a good outside rally to be second against a winner who moved before she did; she shortens back to seven furlongs. BROKEN MEADOW got into a key race last time against sprinters on Tapeta that proved too difficult and the top two have come back in reverse order to take the top two positions in the Passing Mood Stakes on turf; she is a one time winner on grass and drops now for $0,000. MY CANTATA ran strongly in a pair of turf races in the early part of the year but a subsequent race August 0 th came off the grass and she didn t have as good a result; she lost a speed duel on the turn; she drops in for $0,000 for Norm McKnight and shifts to turf. LILLY S GOLDIE hasn t produced on the turf for an extended period and when she failed on grass last time that was her ticket down to the $0,000 mark; she has had interim prepping; a late running style is expected. GREEN DOCTOR is a speed runner who is a two time winner on the grass; she got hooked up in a pace fight last time and faded to sixth while, Dublin Diva, was fourth and that one is here; Kimura has the mount with the shift to the lawn at seven furlongs. MIDNIGHT BREW is a frequent winner and scored as recently as two starts ago when claimed for $,000 in a six furlong turf race; her event came off turf last time and she still ran strongly although she lacked middle speed; she should welcome the return to turf and her style should be useful. DUBLIN DIVA campaigned in a tough field last time that included another speed runner, Doctor, and both were dominated through the stretch as closers took the best prizes; this one slipped to fourth; she should welcome the move to a turf claiming event and captured one of those events earlier in the season. RACE #7 BREWS TOONIE TOSS SASSY OMBRE LOUISE THE LASER MORNING BLURS SASSY OMBRE has been out of the money in consecutive races on turf and now comes back to Tapeta and drops down sharply looking to use her speed; she is a four time winner on the synthetic surface here; she had an awkward break last time and then rushed up to be part of the pace before finishing far back. MORNING BLURS was introduced here August 0 th at a protected level with only early speed then dropped for $,000 where she carried her speed somewhat better; she was attacked on the pace by the winner and responded to that one for a while but finally faded; she is down to the $0,000 mark here and shortens to five furlongs. COCA INN kept trying along the inside last time in a five furlong race for $9,00 where she was second to, Louise The Laser, and she must meet that one again. INDIANTOWN SUNRISE was a bit rank in the early going last time then got squeezed in the stretch when, Louise The Laser, came in; an inquiry into the action of, Louise The Laser, did not result in any alteration in the result. BREWS TOONIE TOSS had excuse last time; she was drafting behind runners and trying to make some room in the stretch and was involved in some bumping; she finally finished third beaten a length and a half behind, Louise The Laser. LOUISE THE LASER has perfected her off the pace technique with two consecutive wins although there were some tense moments through the stretch last time when she laid in and that resulted in an inquiry against her but it was not upheld; she carries lbs at just five furlongs. HANSEN S GIRL looked like she had a chance to win last time; she came around runners when dropped down for $,0 but the winner escaped traffic and beat her with a late run; she attracted a claim by Armand Concessi and now goes up in value. BANGLA DANCER makes a rare visit here for a run on Tapeta; she has only one win from numerous opportunities on the synthetic surface; she has dedicated herself to the Fort Erie meeting and had a peak race there in June when handed a victory through disqualification; she is here to run five furlongs with a drop for $0,000.

4 JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, 0 RACE # BEST BARD - BEST BET HOLLOW POINT GOODOLDHOCKEYGAME 7 TED W HOLLOW POINT was claimed for $0,000 back in June and then was moved up into too difficult a category but ran ok on the edges; most recently for $0,000 on a drop, he ran a useful fourth against a key winner; he tried to come from behind on the outside while the winner slipped up the rail; he is down below his claimed evaluation here. CONSTANTINO attracted a claim August nd when coming off the shelf and winning with a drop for $,000; he is up just one level here making a rare visit to turf a footing over which he has yet to win although he ran well on the lawn in July when it was very firm. GOODOLDHOCKEYGAME has yet to win on turf but enters here for the lawn; he found a nice spot August rd nestled in for $,000 on Tapeta; most recently, he was up in value and into too difficult a spot which was taken by a strong front running winner and the runner up has come back with a huge win. ESCONDERA came down to the $0,000 mark last time and was responding gamely but got lapped by the preferred winner and finally was third beaten a length; the runner up came up the rail to take second away from him; he goes up in value and enters for turf looking for his initial score on the grass. NASHVILLE KNIGHT a one time winner on turf is getting his first start since the middle of July; he comes back down to his claimed evaluation and puts the blinkers back on after three consecutive events without them; he does possess sharp speed. BEST BARD is getting his first start since July th when he looked like a winner but gave way late and the runner up has come back to do some nice things; he resurfaces here down now for $0,000 on turf looking for his first win of the year in this his third run of the campaign; he shortens to seven furlongs. TED W was locked in last time and finally made his way up the inside to be fifth beaten two lengths by, Goodoldhockeygame; he seeks his second turf win. BRASS COMPASS will compete only if this event goes on Tapeta and he will be dropping in for $,000 looking for his initial share of this campaign; he was productive last year. RACE #9 RED AT LAST SOUTHERN GREATNESS 9 DRIVE ON NORRIS LAKE ZACK RIDGE ROAD ZACK RIDGE ROAD made his way back to Toronto August th after a successful trip to Winnipeg; he dropped in for $0,000 and at low odds he lacked any prominence; he now comes down for $,0 seeking his second career win here this season; he has had recent prepping. RED AT LAST hasn t been able to break through at seven furlongs but has run well at the distance at times; he was full of energy once again last time through the stretch closing sharply but he missed by a length to a dropped down winner who set the pace; he was finally a length and a half in front of the third place finisher, Butilovesyababe, who is here. ARRIUS attracted a claim for $,000 at Fort Erie two starts ago and was fourth here last time continuing on along the inside while a strong winner from the McKnight stable took the top prize by seven lightening lengths. NORRIS LAKE has had some close finishes this year but last time slipped back a bit in the same race where, At Last, was better in second and, Drive On, was third; he has taken some time to freshen and indicates two training works this month getting ready for Ron Sadler. SOUTHERN GREATNESS is the only runner in the field with a win at seven furlongs and that came back in May; he revisited good form recently to beat non winners of two with a more complete speed try; Campbell stays aboard for this stretch to seven furlongs now facing non winners of three. BUTILOVESYABABE closed up ok last time and stayed well to be just in behind the runner up, At Last, at six furlongs; he stretches to seven furlongs seeking his initial share at the distance. AUGUSTO B got in for $,000 at Fort Erie on a drop August 7 th and that was his win ticket; he attracted a claim and then last time for $,000 he couldn t carry his speed and finished fourth. BANGOR RIDGE hung in contention for $,000 two starts ago then went on the shelf; he returned in a race where a McKnight favourite kept the advantage and he couldn t handle that one. DRIVE ON had a letdown performance last time after a couple of smart tries including a race at six and a half furlongs August th ; in that last try he slipped back after chasing the winner and was fifth while, At Last, was second and, Butilovesyababe, was third.
