JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, RACE # SNIPER VIRGA R U WATCHINGBUD FORESTER S FORUM R U WATCHINGBUD gets much needed relief here down for just $,00 after going shareless this year while he sat out all of last year. BEAR ON FIRE has been out of the money in consecutive races on turf and now goes to Tapeta in hopes of reclaiming his previous good form on this surface. BE THE CHANGE went off to Fort Erie August st to compete and the top two finishers were well separated from the rest of the field and this one was fourth. FORESTER S FORUM has been employing the out of the money finish on turf and switch to Tapeta with a drop angle successfully; last time against non winners of three he was strong on the front end building a long lead; he may get some early company from, Bear On Fire, here. VIRGA rushed four wide on turf last time and was narrowly beaten for this price; he switches over to Tapeta now looking for his initial win of the year. UNDERCOVER CAT went off to Fort Erie at the beginning of August and finished third against a top pair that were based there; following time off he comes back here to compete for $,00; this jockey/trainer combo has won twice recently with, Big Bazinga. SNIPER was competing for this price earlier in the year at Turfway and so after being protected in a series of races at this meeting he gets back down in value and is a logical one to wake up and run strongly. DANI S VICTORY was in the same race as the runner up, Virga, on turf last time and wasn t a match; he beat non winners of three in a Tapeta race the time before. RACE # MONEY TALKS CADILLAC RED RAKEITIN 9 VILMA CADILLAC RED was out of the money on turf June nd then dropped down and went to Tapeta for a win but couldn t repeat that effort last time at low odds when he was out of the race very early; he has taken some time and now makes his way back for Norm McKnight. WICKSTEAD departed here and in his second start at Fort Erie he was able to win a race for $,000 in early summer; this will be his first start since July when he lost by a wide margin there on turf. RAKEITIN was overwhelmed here June th and has since been at Fort Erie for turf racing with good fringe results; he was winter raced and won a couple of races earlier in the season at Turfway. JIMMIES TRUCK had a bad experience at Fort Erie August th on the dirt; he had been a commendable second here the time before. THE ORIGINAL SCOTTY a venerable veteran has fallen on lean times without a win after five trips this season; he has been out of the money in consecutive races at Fort Erie and shortens to seven furlongs for the trip here. MISTER NADA competed in a race August 9 th that was set up for closers and while he stayed on well he didn t threaten when fifth beaten three lengths. MONEY TALKS is an obvious one to consider given the price drop and the quick comeback after his two strong races on turf, yet, his long winless streak continues. BOLD SUMMIT stayed well just a half length behind, Mister Nada, last time at six furlongs for $,000; Devon Johnson takes over. VILMA was a winner here July th but at Fort Erie last time he was a longshot that didn t threaten; he makes his way back with Defreitas riding once again. RACE # HURRICANE EMILY - BEST BET FOXXY BELLE BETH S AURORA STORMY VISION FLOATING RATE was getting her second start and her first try on turf August rd ; she bore out on the turn causing interference to others then retreated in the stretch finishing next to last; she comes from the rail post here. FOXXY BELLE debuted August th and rushed from the outside to challenge on the pace but gradually let go and finished seventh beaten nine lengths; that opener is certainly something to build on. MACHO BOURBON a debut runner for Tony Gattellaro is by, Macho Uno, and from a dam who loved turf and she won the Carotene locally; she has had a series of works getting ready including a recent velocity prep. BETH S AURORA moved over to turf last time and ran quite willingly in third while the top two rallied strongly at the end; she goes back up in value here for an opportunity to stay on the grass; the fourth place finisher from that last race, Peace Seeker, has come back to win for $0,000. HURRICANE EMILY had a generous enough response through the stretch last time but the winner escaped a trap on the turn and was able to rally best and beat this one at the end; she will be tough on a repeat. CREATE AN EDGE raced greenly in an August st opener at seven furlongs on Tapeta getting out greenly in that race; she shows up here with a significant equipment change with blinkers on in hopes of a better performance. FACT CHECKING debuted August th on turf but got in against a winner who had a career performance and after attending the pace she slipped back; she now comes up tagged for this second turf race and will add lasix today. STORMY VISION debuted August th against the runner up, Hurricane Emily, and didn t have much impact; she has since had a fast work on turf in. and had also worked quickly on turf before she debuted.

JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, RACE # WRITTEN LAKE MANITOU HIDDEN APPEAL NADELEINE MISGUIDED PASSION acted up and was in a tangle in the gate pre break last time; once under way she didn t contend; she now goes long. LAKE MANITOU came off the shelf and went from the Fort Erie turf to the Tapeta to perform strongly with an advance off the rail three wide; she missed narrowly; the winner has already come back to be second. DULCEDO was identified as a wake up runner two starts ago and ran second at -; with a little more room last time she won at seven furlongs; she now extends in distance. OCEAN COURT has had a series of fine efforts and was advancing late last time to be fourth with, Nadeleine, in third; she drops down and loses Da Silva to, Hidden Appeal, but picks up apprentice Kimura with this shift to dirt. JUNEBUG JITTERS will be going from a sprint to a route after a wide loss August th ; she take the blinkers off. WRITTEN showed herself to be strong at a route two starts ago for a maiden score; most recently, she returned from time away in a seven furlong race where she drifted out under left handed persuasion and narrowly missed but was determined beyond the wire getting ready for this extension to a route; the fifth place finisher has come back to win. MAXIMUM ENTROPY is getting a belated first start of the season and she went shareless in ; she makes her way back after preps on the training track. MEET YOU AT HOME was out of the money on turf two starts ago then dropped and went to Tapeta last time and finished a positive fourth with, Lake Manitou in second and the third place finishers has since been third for $,000. SUMMER FALLS has been out of the money in consecutive races on turf and was eighth last time when, Nadeleine, was third and both are coming down sharply in value and moving to Tapeta. HIDDEN APPEAL had a belated seasonal bow August th and had enough to rally for a route win in a race that came off turf; she will look to make it two in a row by dropping for to try non winners of two. NADELEINE has raced well in recent turf events at higher levels that this and last time was third; she now goes for just on Tapeta and seeks her initial share on this footing. PATMOS is coming off the shelf after an out of the money finish on the turf at Fort Erie last time and she will go long here for Julie Belhumeur. ADIOS MIA was rated back in a route August th but couldn t gain sufficiently well and was fifth when, Lake Manitou, was second. RACE # IN VIEW ZEPHAN 9 PRIMARY SURPLUS GIANT PULPIT ZEPHAN bumped a rival leaving the gate last time at a mile on turf and finally finished fourth and was disqualified for that early invasion; he sprinted on Tapeta the time before with a good effort to be just in behind the third place finisher, In View. COOL GIZMO lost his path through the stretch last time and started over on the outside and rallied to be second for $,000 at seven furlongs; he is up in value. ONE MORE DRIFT got down in value last time but was moved over to turf and had a wide loss at low odds with blinkers on; he follows that out of the money finish on turf with a move back to Tapeta here. BIG BLIND was running on in his second start June 9 th at a route to be second for half this price; he comes off the shelf after works on the training track and shortens in distance. IN VIEW was getting his third race of the year August th and at six furlongs he had enough middle velocity to stay in contention but he was beaten late and the winner has already come back with a second place finish and the third place finisher, Dance For Papa, is here and has since been third; he must go farther. DANCE FOR PAPA has driving one paced behind the runner up, In View, two starts ago; he added blinkers and went to turf last time and ran ok in third. NEVAEH S DREAM has not been a factor in either start; he departs an out of the money finish on turf at a route to go to a Tapeta sprint. GIANT PULPIT needs a more enterprising trip if he is going to improve his finishing position; he had a frustrating time of it last time when fourth beaten only two lengths and, In View, was second, and Dance For Papa, was third. PRIMARY SURPLUS a debut runner for Denyse McClachrie is by a Kentucky Derby winner and will debut here at seven furlongs on Tapeta with Hernandez; blinkers and lasix being are used; he prepped here through August getting ready. IN A TWIST had a good opener for $,000 then was protected second time out and wasn t that far behind the runner up, In View. FRED S CHAMP improved in an August nd seasonal bow at a lower level when beaten only six lengths; Cool Gizmo, was second on that occasion.

JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, RACE # SILENT CONTEMPT TALE OF RONIN PERLARANA SWITCHBLADE FRANKOFALLTRADES was forced to scratch from a race back on July th and got back in the game August th but did not have a good performance; he has been freshened. CANADA WISE DON had a troubled trip two starts ago; most recently, he came back just six days later and was out of the money. TALE OF RONIN is dropping down after an out of the money finish on turf last time and both career wins have come on this footing; he will depart the lasix program here; several from the last race have come back to run well including the third place finisher, Tanglefoot, who has since won. SWITCHBLADE has nibbled around the edges in his last couple of races in this category; even though he already has three career wins he is a three year old who gains eligibility because of his age. SILENT CONTEMPT looked good winning at six furlongs last time as it allowed him to concentrate his energy over a shorter distance than today s race; he now looks to go up the ladder and extend a furlong for the hot stable of Jim Ensom. LEO THE RABBIT is getting his first start since August th when he was nibbling on the edges in this category; he takes the blinkers off for this return. ARRIUS was taken over to Fort Erie by Mike Wright to win a race and he attracted a claim for $,000; he has since had a gate work back here for Renico E. Lafond. GET ERDONEBUD was off to a slow beginning last time and never did cement a position on the pace, rather he weakened. BANGOR RIDGE hung on the edges last time when, Canada Wise Don, was better in second; he must go back up in value. PERLARANA is worth considering here; both the runner up and fourth place finisher have come back to win out of his last race where he was only seventh beaten thirteen lengths; that was a quickly run affair; he is a one time winner on Tapeta. RACE # SALIERI EL TORMENTA CHILL 9 GASCONADE HOLD EMFORRANSOM was perfectly positioned on the pace to strike in a June nd run on Tapeta but withered and went on the shelf; he started getting ready for this with works beginning in the middle of August and had a good work on turf September nd with Wilson aboard in. CHILL wandered at the top of the stretch August th and for that indiscretion he was disqualified from second; he has been positively consistent with his finishes in a contenders role. DESOLATOR trained well just before his May opener but didn t run a jump; second time out he prepped in. and added blinkers and took money and romped and was full value for that performance on turf; he has since had a good work and comes back for Niall Collum but this time with Boulanger aboard. SALIERI was forced to scratch August th but came back August th to run a winning race but made a mistake when altering between rivals late and bothered the fourth place finisher; he was demoted for that infraction; he now goes to turf seeking his second win on the grass. EL TORMENTA a three year old had a strong pace presence last time in a first allowance race at a route but had insufficient resistance when the winner pressured him late and he settled for second; the third place finisher was recently in a race August 0 th ; he was second best in the Charlie Barley behind, Ride A Comet, who last Sunday won the Grade Del Mar Derby for Mark Casse; he shortens to just six and a half furlongs. MATTHEW S RIDGE was off balance at the break last time in a first allowance race at a route on Tapeta and recovered to be fourth beaten just three lengths; he did take a win on turf to begin this campaign. BIG SHANTY woke up as expected July 9 th when coming off the shelf and he wired a field for Mark Casse at almost - and the runner up has come back to score; he now goes to turf a footing over which he did not keep up in New Orleans in February. HARPER P M was stalled at the top of the stretch August th when, Chill, drifted over in his path and for that infraction this one was moved up to fourth when not threatening through the stretch. GASCONADE was expected to come up with a big race last time at six furlongs and he rushed inside to be second against the heavy favourite; he is asked to extend a half furlong. JARETH finished first on two occasions here last year but had to give one of those back to the stewards for an incident at the gate; he has been competing at Laurel for Gunpowder Farms LLC with threatening stretch runs; he now competes at a longer distance but from the outside post in lane five; Moran rides.

JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, RACE # AVIE S MINESHAFT SHAMROCK ROSE MISS SIENNA MISS MO MENTUM LADIES NIGHT has been stakes placed twice but is looking for a stakes victory here; she comes off the shelf and moves from turf where she was behind the runner up, A. A. Azula s Arch, last time and she goes on Tapeta; Contreras takes over here. SHAMROCK ROSE trained here and went to Presque Isle to run in a State bred race where she easily beat four other rivals as the - favourite; she makes her way back for Conrad Farms and Mark Casse with Lermyte once again aboard against three year olds. TIME TO PLAY comes in for Godolphin; she is Chicago based and has run on the Tapeta at Presque Isle with a win and a third; she faces a step up in class here for Eoin Harty. MISS SIENNA had some standing in some nice spring races in France then was relocated to Southern California where the opposition there was too difficult; she makes her way here for Graham Motion with the blinkers off; she did win nicely on the synthetic surface at Chantilly earlier this year. A. A. AZULA S ARCH a developing local runner moved to turf for the Colleen Stakes and finished second at long odds; she visited Chicago as a rank outsider on turf August th and wasn t effective there; she gets back to Tapeta here for A & A Farms. MISS MO MENTUM won the Selene Stakes in the spring time with a good rally at the expense of, Dixie Moon; she was eliminated at the break in the Trillium Stakes by her entry mate who finished one position in front of her last outing; she comes off the shelf and Husbands rides for Gary Barber. CASCANUECES is a perfect three for three while running in Peru; she is a Kentucky bred daughter of, Smart Strike, relocating to the stable of Todd Pletcher and she will try Tapeta here with lasix added for Manning Kingdom Inc. COSMIC LOVE was competing earlier this year in England and did win there early in the summer on turf; she has been relocated to North America at Fair Hill and has recently been transported to the stable of Roger Attfield; she prepped here in company September st ; she adds lasix; she had earlier experience on the synthetic surface at Lingfield. PEACH OF A GAL has been producing every other start; she won on turf at Delaware two starts ago but was out of the money here in the Colleen last time for Graham Motion; she goes on Tapeta here for the first time. AVIE S MINESHAFT is the now runner in the field; she handled herself well in the Bison City when second best but went so much better when given a test of stamina on the turf in the Wonder Where; she flushed the heavy favourite, Dixie Moon, with three furlongs remaining then went after that one to get top prize deep in the stretch; she gets back to Tapeta here going shorter. HANALEI MOON had an awkward break from the gate in the Duchess Stakes but was still fighting on at the end in second at seven furlongs; the blinkers are on and she stretches out and she had a strong work here August st in.0 out in.. for Mark Casse. RACE #9 FORESTER S DESTINY SECOND STREET DECISION DAY TELLING YOU TWICE BOURBON FIRST was close by for $9,000 two starts ago and most recently was close by for $,00; he remains winless for the year and is up in value. OAKTON rushed from the outside in a seven furlong race at this price range last time; this will be his third run of the season and he goes from two sprints to a route in search of a breakthrough victory. WHO S GOT IT has been content to be on the edges for an extended time now and that was the case in a first allowance race August 9 th when a winner stepping up from a lower level proved best and this one was only three lengths back. DECISION DAY is in search of a breakthrough win after also failing to score last year; he opted to be part of the pace last time when the fractions were slow but the top three finishers in that race were closers and the bottom three finishers were the speed contributors; he had run better the time before when stalking and staying on for second. TELLING YOU TWICE had a good reaching stride when dropped into a plum spot to win for $,000 August th against no winners of three; he attracted a claim from that winning race by Blair Miller. SECOND STREET handled himself well at this distance on turf earlier in the year but is presently indicating a yearning for longer venues; last time at a marathon he was on the edges and the third place finisher has since won; this will be his race introduction to a synthetic surface. FORESTER S DESTINY won first time off the claim for Sandy McPherson June 9 th and he got going just in time; most recently in a starter event, he finished third against a key winner on turf; he will move back to Tapeta here with a chance to have an impact.

JIM S JOURNAL SEPTEMBER TH, RACE # CELTIC SINGER 9 MISS ARTIE DECO BEL TEMPO GEORGIA SWEETS BEL TEMPO had an excusable trip on turf two starts ago and was arguably best for $,00 when third beaten a neck; most recently on turf, she was up in value and closed very late; she looks like a contender with Chris Husbands now aboard. GEORGIA SWEETS had every chance to win July th as she came seven wide yet was second and it was a significant wake up; she dropped down to try Tapeta last time and finished an ok third; she should welcome a return to turf. SHOW ME THE PRIZE is shareless in an eleven race career and was on turf back in June when just on the edges. YES IT S DYNA debuted on turf as a two year old but didn t do any running on that occasion; she is generally improved this season and had a strong sprint effort two starts ago; the demands here are running a mile on turf; she stretches out and changes surfaces. MAMITA S CHICA followed in traffic last time for $,000 on turf to be on the edges and the fourth place finisher, Peace Seeker, has since won for $0,000. AUDREY GRACE was very awkward at the beginning when bouncing around between rivals and she didn t recover; she starts over here at a route on turf with a big drop for $,000 and with a move to Hernandez. CELTIC SINGER is certainly one to consider given her race on turf back in the spring time when she was third narrowly beaten and the winner has since done well; she was fourth last time on Tapeta and the winner ran strongly in a recent stake. JARRI was fanned wide in her debut August th at six furlongs on turf; she goes farther against easier and takes the blinkers off. MISS ARTIE DECO is one to consider given her good race last time; she was running from so far off the pace but finished fourth; Boulanger is sticking with her. EASY BID ran very well two starts ago at seven furlongs on turf; she also had a good race last time; she must stretch to a mile here. CALAIS COVE was going late on the outside last time in a route when, Easy Bid, was much better in second on Tapeta. AWESOMEENDSWITHME is sent out by, Krista Cole who had a recent turf winner; this one was on turf two starts ago against better and didn t keep up then. RACE # HONIG MONASTRELL BOYHOOD DREAM MAKEMINEAMANHATTAN TISHINA CHILLING SECRET was smart in front July th and used the element of surprise first time here at Woodbine; he then doubled in value last time and was overwhelmed late in a route but made a nice pace contribution; there is a heavy concentration of mid pace ability here. MONASTRELL should go well given all the conflicting speed types in the race; he rallied in time for a maiden score two starts ago and then was second best to a strong winner last time. MAKEMINEAMANHATTAN raced well to win last time at a route when jumping up on a slow early pace and making the running; he faces tougher here but is getting better. REDOUTE S LIGHT had such a bumpy trip last time; he was bumped early and bumped late and finished ninth beaten eleven lengths on turf; he did win going long here in the spring time on Tapeta. TISHINA was driving forward at the top of the stretch last time and finally finished third just a neck behind, Monastrell, which gives him some standing here with Wilson. LAUDERDALE had no kick last time in the middle of July when going a route on Tapeta; he has been freshened and indicates a fast recent work on the training track. HONIG developed a nice galloping style on the lead in a series of races; he took a win and then a couple of in the money finishes; most recently however, he went to turf and didn t have the advantage because of the speed of the runner up and he caved in; the third place finisher has since won; he gets back to Tapeta and drops for $0,000 but must be careful as there are some other middle pace contributors. BOYHOOD DREAM is a big strong galloper who encountered a very good late pace last time and he backed away in fifth; he had competed in the Queen s Plate earlier and did show positive route form here in the spring; he has been freshened; he was on the training track recently getting legged up for Michael Maker. LEONARD S BAY attracted a claim when dropped in for $,000 last time and he looked ready to contribute but he went flat in the stretch; he is immediately sent long. NESTLETON HUSH was banged by a rival leaving the gate and he lost his rider in his inglorious debut; to his credit second time out he was able to win at seven furlongs on Tapeta for $,000 with a remarkable rush; he has had interim prepping and now goes up in value and out in distance. COSMIC HALLELUJAH went to Fort Erie July nd and got brave on the lead at six furlongs in the mud and earned a significant rating for his powerful velocity offering; he will now look to apply that capability to a route on Tapeta.
