McCabe was examined by the Clubbs Medical Officer after arriving on course and passed fit to ride. A. McCabe was fined $200 for failing to produce a medical clearance after being directed to do so. Race 1 LAURELS FUNCTION CENTRE MAIDEN PLATE metres:> Trinket Chick > began awkwardly.. Wide without cover in the early stages until gaining cover near the 1400 metres. Layed out under pressure in the straight. Matthias > slow into stride and reluctant to muster early speed.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Foraoise > approaching the winning post on the first occasion, shifted in towards the heels of Half The Sky making contact with that marees heels and blundering. Steadied when tightened for room approaching the 600 metres between Itchicoo Park which initially shifted in, and Matthias (J. Keating) which shifted out.. After taking into account the circumstances J. Keating was severely reprimanded and notified to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.

2 Woodbridge > raced keenly in the early and middle stages.. On return to scale app. H. Grace weighed in kg under his declared weight, however was not in breachh of the provisions of AR143a and as such Stewards deemed no action to be taken against Woodbridge and correct weight was declared.. It was established that after weighing out H. Grace had removed his safety vest and prior to riding had forgotten to put it back on and as a result rode in the race without his safety vest.. H. Grace pleaded guilty under the provisions of AR87B in that he rode Woodbridge without a safety vest.. After taking into account circumstances and that H. Grace is an apprentice jockey with relative inexperience who has been race riding for a year, his guilty plea and that it was a genuine mistake on his part, H Grace was fined $750. Terrasphere > gave ground from the 800 metres and was eased down in the straight. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination. Terrasphere shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.. Trainer L. Xuereb notified Stewards he will recommend to connections that the gelding be retired. Way Of The Storm > held up for a clear run from the 500 metres until the 300 metres. Itchicoo Park > rider B. Race 2 LADIES DAY 10 TH SEPTEMBER 3YO MAIDEN PLATE metres:> Il Divo - trainer G. Begg was fined $30 for use of the Clubbs colours on the colt.. Began awkwardly.. Wild Horizon - began awkwardly. Layed in under pressure in the straight when racing greenly. Rider D. Dunn reported that the filly, which was having its first race start, did not handle todayys track conditions.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Bam - slow to begin.. Raced wide without cover. King Kabuto - slow to begin then steadied shortly after the start when tightened for room between Plato and Think IIm Dreaming both of which shifted ground. Star Clipper - steadied near the 1100 metres when tightened for room between Il Divo and Wild Horizon which shifted out.. Held up for a clear run rounding the home turn, and when being held up near the 400 metres inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between Ice Hunt and Think IIm Dreaming.. When under pressure in the straight layed in. Linaas Hero - wide without cover. Ice Hunt - rider A. Mallyon reported that the gelding did not handle todayys track conditions. The Delphi - had some difficulty obtaining a clear run rounding the home turn, however, rider P. Moloney reported that the colt may not have handled todayys track conditions.

3 Sam Slick - rider T. Sadler was fined $300 for weighing in 1 kg over his declared weight. Following the running of Race 2 Stewards downgraded the track rating, retrospective of Race 2, to Soft 6 at 1.40 p.m. Race 3 SALE CUP 29 TH OCTOBER MAIDEN PLATE metres:> Race The Wind - slow into stride.. App S. Thornton rider of Race The Wind, which was having its first race start, could offer no real explanation for its performance other than it was a beaten horse passing the 700 metres.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Cross Our Fingers - shortly after the start shifted out making contact with the hindquarters of Theatric. Theatric - bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. Modern Dane - raced wide without cover. Blastzoff - rider D. Lane reported that despite the colt finishing back in the field he was satisfied with its run today first up.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Viking Raid - rider A. Mallyon reported that it was not his intention to lead, however, the gelding which was having its second race start and with the step up in distance, after beginning well found himself in a forward position. Race 4 CUP MARQUEES 29 TH OCTOBER BM58 HANDICAP metres:> Meadow Sprite - reared in the barriers getting its leg temporarily cast.. Acting on veterinary advice Stewards authorised the withdrawal of Meadow Sprite at 2.31 p.m.. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. Connections were advised that the mare must trial and obtain veterinary certificate prior to racing again. As a result the start of the race was delayed. Riverside Boy - began awkwardly.. App E. Brown reported that his mount hung in when under pressure in the straight. Coppola - slow to begin. King Mapoora - slow to begin.. App N. Punch reported that the gelding raced flat and did not respond to his riding in the straight. Rileyys Rocket - had difficulty obtaining a clear run rounding the home turn.

4 Hazard Ahead - bumped by Zartini near the 150 metres. (Second placegetter) app G. Cartwright viewed the Stewardss footage before deciding not to lodge an objection relative to an incident near the 150 metres. Mitali Assa Vedo - rider C. Symons reported that the mare may not have been suited by the track conditions but overall its performance was disappointing.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 5 LADBROKES BM70 HANDICAP metres:> Ella > trainer R. Laming was fined $100 for the late notification of M. Dee as the marees rider. Elegant Queen - stood flat-footed and lost ground (2L).. Trainer T. Scanlon was notified that an official warning would be placed against the mare and should it perform similarly, further action may be taken. New York - slow to begin. Ballet Master - began awkwardly. Bettyrae Ruby - raced keenly in the early stages. St Swithuns - over the concluding stages raced tight inside of Ballet Master. Scotopia - when questioned regarding the tactics rider B. Mertens explained that after beginning well and in the early stages raced keenly, so he allowed the gelding to take up the lead in the early stages.. He added that Scotopia did not respond to his riding in the straight and gave ground.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 6 - JACKS COUNTRY BAKEHOUSE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1212 metres:> You Want > became unbalanced shortly after the start after beginning awkwardly and bumped with Monajet. Monajet > bumped at the start. Raced wide without cover. Jamaican Rain > slow to begin. Better Strike > slow to begin. Blood Moon > raced keenly in the lead in the early and middle stages. Got That Swing momentarily steadied when tightened for room between Better Strike which initially shifted out, and Dallas Storm which shifted in passing the 100 metres. Miss Manhattan > rider J. 5 Bondi Brian > slow to begin. Stream Ahead > slow to begin. Toorak Miss > slow to begin.. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Natch > near the 700 metres steadied when tightened for room between Lochend Ocky (N. Callow) which initially shifted in, and Tycoon Felix which was carried out by Quiet Order which was also carried out by Parwan Prince (H. Grace).. In the circumstances no action was taken other than to advise H. Grace and N. Callow to exercise more care when in similar circumstances. Quiet Order > near the 700 metres carried out and then steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Parwan Prince (H. Grace) which shifted out when not clear.. H. Grace pleaded guilty to a charge of careless ridingg under the provisions of AR137a, the careless riding being that near the 700 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of Quiet Order resulting in that gelding being carried out and awkwardly placed close to the heels of Parwan Prince and steadied.. H. Grace had his permit to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight August 20, 2017 and to expire at midnight August 28, 2017, a total of 8 meetings (2 metropolitan 6 provincial).. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account H. Gracees guilty plea, his record in this area and deemed the carelessness to be in the low range. Tycoon Felix > held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Nadeemms Melody > when questioned regarding tactics, D. Lane explained that from the wide barrier and after beginning well, he rode forward as instructed. Gauteng Gal > rider M. Walker was reminded of his obligations to ride all of his mounts out to the finish line. Race 8 ONEILLS RESTAURANT BM64 HANDICAP metres:> Tavernier Blue - from the wide barrier will attempt to ride more forward.. Settled in a handy position. Pharrell > on arrival on course and after being fractious in the float en route to the course, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race.. Raced wide without cover. Donarchie >slow to begin.. App N. Punch was reminded of his obligations to ride all of his mounts out to the finish line. Internship > raced keenly in the lead.. When questioned regarding tactics rider B. Allen explained that after beginning well and racing keenly in the early stages, he took up the lead position. Passing the 200 metres steadied when disappointed for a run between Silver Stratum and Dangerous Spin which shifted out before shifting back to the inside making moderate ground to the finish. Solid Rod when questioned regarding tactic B. Mertens explained that he settled further back than expected after being caught wide without cover in the early stages, he steadied in an endeavour to gain cover. Silver Stratum > disappointed for a run between Pharrell and Solid Rod near the 150 metres and as a result was held up for a clear run to the finish line. Meowie Wowie > Rider E Brown reported that the mare layed out and did not finish the race off. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.
