Directions from QE2 are: Go 16 miles or 27 km. West on Hwy 13. Watch for Lakedell Ag. Society sign on South side of Hwy. Turn south at sign [RR 12] and you will see the facility on the East Side of the road. Requirements for this clinic: To register for this clinic, you must have previously taken a TINDELL Clinic OR you must be able to walk, trot and lope with CONTROL. The 4 th day of this clinic will be a games day where Jerry will use obstacles and patterns for a fun way to make use of new skills! It is a big blue building right beside The Villa (senior s housing). This clinic is geared for young, green or problem animals OR for those that have never taken a Jerry Tindell clinic. Groundwork and Safety will be highly stressed. MAXIMUM 10 PARTICIPANTS May 8, Farrier Time, Come join us for a 3-hour mini-clinic on hooves for mules, donkeys or horses. Jerry will help you understand your equine s feet and how to care for them. We will run sharp from 6 pm til 9 pm. May 13, Jerry may be available for private or semi private lessons, BUT be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. This clinic is open to anyone that desires to learn progressive riding skills OR has stock to start or re-start. Jerry is able to handle all situations and it will be a valuable learning curve for anyone in any situation. Safety for stock and students is always his top concern. [Please make sure that you make suitable stabling arrangements with your host!] ALSO, please note that each registered participant is allowed ONE FREE AUDITOR [spouse, friend etc.] The cost of this free pass is being picked up by the Alberta Donkey and Mule Club. On behalf of our clinic hosts and the Alberta Donkey and Mule Club, we are very pleased and honored to welcome Jerry Tindell back to Alberta from southern California. Jerry comes from a very diverse background and is able to deal with any problem that you may be having with your horse, mule or donkey. He grew up in Missouri in a logging family that used horses and mules for power. Getting the job done was the first objective. Experiencing the behavior of horses and mules throughout his growing years has given Jerry a unique insight into the equine psyche. Jerry s ability to transform these early lessons in life with equines has been a major part of this development today. Through a lifetime of handling horses and mules, Jerry has developed a comprehensive knowledge of equine behavior and the human skills necessary for top performance. Jerry s emphasis targets effective communication and safety. His experience instructing mounted units has established a successful curriculum for mounted law enforcement. His many years training, riding and driving mules enhances his understanding of the mule and enables him to offer top notch guidance to all mule owners and handlers. Hundreds of people throughout the West have improved their horsemanship and mulemanship skills by attending Jerry Tindell Clinics. Working with Jerry encourages the equine handler to look for the try while developing a feel. Developing a safe, responsive equine and handler relationship is the Tindell goal. Jerry is dedicated to enhancing the horse, mule and handler experience through knowledge and practice, combined with compassion. Check out Jerry s website at CLINIC COSTS: ** AGAIN THIS YEAR - EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION** $550 per clinic if PAID IN FULL BY MARCH 16 ST, Registration after March 16 is $650 and requires a deposit of $350 with the balance due at the clinic. Deposits will be refunded only if the event is changed or cancelled. A Registration Form is attached at the end of this letter. 3 These Clinics are Open to ALL EQUINES. EACH CLINIC IS FOUR FULL DAYS! ALL CLINICS START AT 9 AM DAILY and end at approx 4 pm. During the group clinics, the clinic host or the Alberta Donkey & Mule Club will provide coffee and a morning snack. Lunches may be available depending on each clinic. **Please note that Jerry may be available for private or semi- private lessons. Please contact the clinic host or Marlene Quiring at [H], [W] [CELL] as soon as possible to book!! Prices are as follows: Full day private [6 hrs] $550, Half day private [3 hrs] $300 Full day semi-private, [2 4 persons + animals] $325 each Half day semi-private [2 4 persons + animals] $175 each [You must provide your own facility or make your own arrangements with your local Arena. Also a mileage fee may be necessary.] The Lakedell facility has a 80 by 200 indoor arena, plus a very large outdoor arena. There are several pens available for animals plus we are allowed the free use of up to 20 panels. Therefore there should be ample room for boarding at no additional cost to the participant. Water is available day and night. There will be a designated area to dump manure and you must absolutely clean up all manure. There is a wheelbarrow and a shovel there, but I would suggest that you at least bring your own shovel. Bring your own feed and water buckets. There is ample room for tents, campers and trailers, but no hook ups. There are indoor bathroom facilities open 24 hrs. but no showers. Eating facilities are just a few minutes away or we may be able to have lunches catered. The Forestburg facility has a 77 by 184 indoor arena. There are several panels available to set up pens for your animals by your trailer. These are free of charge. There is water available day and night. There will be a designated area to dump manure and you must absolutely clean up all manure! There are buckets and rakes there, but I would suggest you bring your own shovel. There is some room for tents and trailers but no hook up. There are bathroom facilities open 24 hours a day and there are showers you can use for free. Locally there are several restaurants minutes from the arena. Eagle Hill Equine is a large facility 25 minutes N.W. of Olds. AB.and 15 NE of Sundre, AB. Visit They have a 100 by 200 indoor arena, plus a large outdoor arena. There is an outdoor and indoor round pen. Box stalls are $21 per night, and shavings, forks, etc. are provided. You are responsible for cleaning your box stall[s]. Bring your own water buckets and feed. There are also several outdoor pens with water and they are available at $15.75 per night. Bring your own feed. There is space for tents, trailers, and campers and panels [you bring] are permitted if attached to your trailer. No hook up camping would be free with stall rental and $10.50 per night if animals were in panels. There are several electrical hookups for trailers at $15.75 per day. Eagle Hill has two outhouses, but no showers. A couple of guest rooms are available at $68.25 per night with continental breakfast. All prices are inclusive of GST. Please indicate on your registration form your stall, pen, hookup or room requirements [on site] when you register for the clinic. Numerous hotels, motels, B&B s and restaurants are located in Sundre and Olds, as well as several acreages in the vicinity also offer Bed, Bale and Breakfast packages.
