Also these safety hats must be worn by all riders when jumping and it is recommended that they be worn by everyone when riding or handling horses and ponies at the Show. Only one award per mare per season. Where the winning mare has already won a voucher in the current year the award goes to the next highest placed mare. H18 A Special Prize presented by Mr and Mrs C B Bunt for the best pony in class 20 which is not in the prize money and is owned by a local exhibitor. RETRAINING OF RACEHORSES Judges: Ride: Mr R Bellamy, Chedworth, Gloucestershire Conformation: Ms L Tylor, Helston, Cornwall 22 The RoR Tattersalls Thoroughbred Ridden Show Series Qualifier 2019 Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first TWO go forward to the championship in All entries MUST be registered with the RoR and include their registration number on entry form and have RACED in GB. The RoR judge will ride in this class. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse s last run in a race (NH or Flat) or will provide 2 ride judges should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in this series Prizes: Rosettes 1 st - 6 th and Vouchers 1 st to 4 th place. 1 st 60 plus voucher for jacket, 2 nd 40, 3 rd 20, 4 th 10. Veteran prize (15+) - 25 voucher to be redeemed from RoR office and qualification for the Veteran Final at the RoR Championships at Aintree. There will be a prize for the highest placed horse that is ridden by an Amateur 23 The RoR / TBA (Thoroughbred Breeders Association) Retrained Racehorse Challenge 2018 The RoR Retrained Racehorse Challenge. Mare or gelding 4 yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years old or over on the 1 st January. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in GB. The first three go forward to the final at the RoR Championships at Aintree in August 2018 or 2019 for shows after 1 st August Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge. Horses may be stripped for conformation at the discretion of the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series. The class to be judged 50% jumping, 20% style while jumping and performance and 30% awarded for show, manners and suitability to be retrained. PHASE 1 Jumping to be judged: 8 rustic jumps (2 6 to 3 with a maximum spread of 85 centimeters) The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 10 points to be deducted for a knock

5 down. 15 points to be deducted for a refusal. 20 points for second refusal. Elimination for third refusal or fall. PHASE 2 Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some classes, at the judge s discretion, horses might be asked to do a show following their jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large number in the class) Each horse is to complete an individual show of no longer than 1½ minutes. Show to include the following movements: Walk, trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk off on a long rein. Total marks out of 30% for show, manners and suitability to be retrained. Fences for the final at Aintree can be up to a maximum of 3 6. Additional Prizes: Rosettes 1 st - 6 th place and Vouchers 1 st 4 th place. 1 st - 50 plus voucher for jacket, 2 nd - 25, 3 rd - 20, 4 th- 10. SENIOR HORSE SHOWING THE OLYMPIA ANTHONY EVANS SSADL HOME PRODUCED FIRST ROUND QUALIFIER 2018 Judge: Mrs E Crew, Bridgewater, Somerset The Olympia Anthony Evans SSADL Home Produced First Round Qualifiers only are open to both Members and Non Members of the Senior Showing & Dressage Ltd. SSADL QUALIFICATION CARDS AND KEEP SAKE PRIZE CARDS 1 st to 6 th will be handed out in the ring at the time of presentation. COMPETITORS ONLY NEED ONE QUALIFICATION CARD PER SECTION PER SEASON, IN HAND AND/ OR RIDDEN. IF ALREADY QUALIFIED THIS CARD MUST BE HANDED DOWN THE LINE. NEXT STAGE OLYMPIA 2nd ROUND QUALIFIERS: You can only compete in the Olympia Anthony Evans SSADL Second Round Qualifiers, if you are a 2018 member and your animal is registered with SSAD Ltd and hold the 2018 membership/registration card. Once you have qualified at a First Round Qualifier and you have received an Acceptance card, only then may you compete in the Olympia Anthony Evans Second Round

The Second Round Champions will go on to compete at the Olympia Anthony Evans SSADL Home Produced Supreme Final at the London International Horse Show in December Once a competitor has qualified for the Olympia Grand Final they may continue to compete at any 2 nd Round Qualifiers, but they will NOT be eligible to enter the Olympia Qualifying Championships. In this instance the second placed competitor will be eligible for this championship. Once a competitor has qualified for Olympia in the Ridden section they are NOT allowed to qualify in the In Hand section and vice versa. H31 Mr and Mrs D Moore Grand Challenge Cup for the Champion Working Pony in classes SIDE SADDLE CLASSES Judge: Mrs L Hamilton, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire 41A EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS ADULT QUALIFYING CLASS Run under SSA rules defined in the current Members Handbook. Open to SSA Adult Members and Non- Members aged 18 or over on 1st January of the current year. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd place and SSA Championship Points. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult Member, judged to be the best turned out. QUALIFIER FOR THE SIR LANCELOT MEMORIAL TROPHY A Special rosette will be offered to the Adult Member, carrying their current Championship Points Card, of the SSA Area in which the Show is organised, who during the Equitation Qualifier Class (irrespective of final placing) is judged to be the most elegant. That member will be eligible to compete in the Final for the Sir Lancelot Memorial Trophy (donated by the late Mrs E. Skelton) at the National Side Saddle Show. A Member may only qualify once per season between one National Show and the next, and if the Judge s first choice has already qualified, the rosette will be awarded to the next eligible competitor. 41B EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS JUNIOR QUALIFYING CLASS Run under SSA rules defined in the current Members Handbook. Open to SSA Junior Members and Non- Members aged under 18 on 1st January of the current year. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd place and SSA Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed Member aged under 14 on 1st January of the current year. Manor Grange Stud Show Centre offer a rosette to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out. Hats to current Safety Standards or above must be worn. 42 SIDE SADDLE COSTUME CONCOURS d ÉLÉGANCE The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the judge may ask small groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Card. Competitors should produce a brief résumé about their costumes for the Commentator. Juniors must wear hats to current Safety Standard or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

8 HEAVY HORSES Judge: Mrs L Hamilton, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire 43 Best Ridden Heavy Horse. Open to Mares, stallions or geldings, 4 years old and over that are unregistered or registered in the main British stud books of the Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron Horse Societies. Riders of stallions must be 16 years and over. Horses may be shown unplaited or plaited with neck rolls. Neck flights are not permitted for health and safety reasons. Tail flights are permissible. Judge will not ride. The class will be judged on performance and obedience as a ridden horse in walk, trot, canter and stand and rein back. Horses will be asked to give a go-round together and will then complete an individual display lasting no longer than 2 minutes. On completion of the individual shows the horses may be stripped and judged on conformation. H32 Rosette for the Best Turned Out Heavy Horse SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD HORSE AND PONY CLASSES Judge: Ms J Newberry, Exeter, Devon BSPA CLASSES ARE OPEN TO SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD HORSES AND PONIES ONLY. OPEN TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS. These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead Tuesday 24 th July Classes will be judged under BSPA rules. Download from All horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and riders BSPA members prior to the show. Rider s age taken from 1 st January. Membership and qualification cards must be carried in the ring by competitors and produced as required for inspection or signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. All Spurs may not be worn in any pony class. Ponies 153cm or under (Shetlands exempt) must possess a current JMB height certificate All stallions must be graded and licensed by BSPA or hold a BSPA Showing Permit (contact BSPA for Stallion showing permit information) for 2018 and have a BSPA stallion ID card and wear BSPA Stallion ID Disc. No rider under 14 may exhibit a stallion in any class. No competitor / owner / horse may compete in this class or enter the ring without current 2018 Membership of BSPA and a RIHS qualification card. Ponies must be named on the entry form and in the catalogue if one is produced. Society rosettes must only be given to ponies registered with the Society or eligible for registration (i.e. foals). All ponies must be registered or eligible for registration (ie foals) with the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society (except classes 73 and 74). Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the Show. All entire males aged 2 years and over must display a stallion disc. There must be no colts or entire males in Young Handler Classes. Children under 14 years old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in In-Hand classes. Children under 12 years old on the day of the Show may not show entire males in ridden classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 years or under in In-hand classes. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring. Lead forward four steps and halt. The halt either a Dressage or Show Halt. 2. Lead to circle of carpet and arrange pony s two front legs on the carpet. 3. Turn pony on the forehand, 180, with pony s front legs remaining in the circle. 4. With the pony on a LOOSE rein, lead in and out of cones. 5. STILL ON A LOOSE REIN, lead pony onto blue carpet, and halt for three secs, count aloud, then proceed to LARGE CONE. 6. Halt at Large Cone, pick up front foot and hold for three secs, count aloud. 7. Trot from LARGE CONE over white pole. 8. Turn at X and trot back to carpet circle, leading pony from the OFF SIDE. 9. Halt at circle (outside) and stand pony up as before for inspection. 10.Overall mark for quietness and obedience. 76 Performance Pony Ridden, Judged on the Test listed below. TEST Maximum of 10 points for each. Total out of 100 points. 1. Walk forward six strides. 2. Halt at the circle, with front legs of pony in the circle. 3. Turn pony ON THE FOREHAND 180 with front legs of the pony staying in the circle. 4. Bend in and out of bollards, at the walk, reins in one hand only. 5. With reins in both hands, sitting trot up to LARGE CONE and Halt. 6. Pick up flag from large cone and rising trot round Xcone, return flag to large cone. 7. Bend back down cones, rising trot, reins in BOTH HANDS. 8. Halt at circle, outside, and reverse three strides, then forward four. HALT. 9. Inspection of tack and turnout. 10.Overall mark for quietness and obedience.
