The Calgary Ultimate Association is proud to continue a longstanding tradition of hosting a twoday extravaganza of disc flinging, high spirits, great times, and growing competition. A number of amazing volunteers stepped up to get this show on the road and a number of motivated volunteers are not only expressing excitement for this upcoming weekend, but also for the years to come! So if you meet one, be sure to thank them for all of their efforts and everyone loves hugs! We hope you have as much fun playing in the tournament as we had putting it together. 2 Saturday Ho-Down A Division seeding all teams will play each other once in round robin. Each team will be seeded after Saturday s games. The first and second seeds will receive a first round bye. The 3 rd seed will play the 6 th seed and the 4 th seed will play the 5 th seed in quarter final play. The winner of the 4 th vs. 5 th game will play the 1 st seed and the 2 nd seed will play the winner of the 3 rd vs. 6 th seed in semi-final play. The winner of each of these matches will play in the final at 2:30pm Saturday Ho-Down B Division seeding and Slo-down C Division seeding teams are in two groups. A team will play each of the teams in their group. After Saturday round robin games, all teams will be seeded from The top group will be seeded 1 6 (B), and 1 6 (C). The second group will be seeded 7 13 (B) and 7-10 (C). The top group and the bottom group will play quarter finals, then semi-finals, and then the finals. Tie Breaker Format for Ho-down and Slo-down: Seeding is first based on wins/losses. In case of a tie, the first tie breaker is based on the head to head play. The second tie breaker is decided based on point differential. If a third tie breaker is required, the team with the most points scored will be awarded a higher seed. If teams are still tied, each team will choose a player to shotgun a beer, the team who is the fastest will be the higher seed. Detailed schedules for each division will be handed out at the captains meeting Saturday morning, and ed to captains Friday night. In all cases the schedule posted at Disc Central will be considered correct. Schedules will also be posted on the website: Captains Meeting The Captains Meeting will be held at Disc Central at 8:20 AM on Saturday, June 23. All captains MUST ATTEND the captains meeting. Captains will receive captains packages, can ask any questions and will find out about any last-minute modifications to the tournament schedule. All outstanding tournament fees must be paid at the Captains Meeting. All waivers must be handed in prior to receiving team cups and wristbands. Format & Rules Co-ed 4M/3F or 4F/3M (Pulling team must match the receiving team) Foot-blocks are allowed only in A/B Pool (unless otherwise agreed upon by both captains) Mirror half (Please keep the half time 5 minutes or less) Pool games and qualifiers to 13 (win by 2, hard cap 15) Semis and Finals to 15 (win by 2, hard cap at 17) 2 of 6

3 1 Horn - Start of Game 2 Horns - Soft cap at 15 minutes prior to scheduled end time (AFTER current point add 2 points to the highest score, No timeouts in caps) 3 Horns - Hard cap at 5 minutes prior to scheduled end time (last point unless the game is tied, then play one more) Game scores must be reported to disc central within 20 minutes of the last horn or the TD will make something up (and it won t be pretty!) o Text your scores to o Come to Disc Central and report your score in person ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ON THE FIELDS Pool Games - 2 timeouts total Semis & Finals - 1 timeout per half + 1 floater No timeout during hard cap The finals will be soft-capped only Fields All games will be played on the lush green fields of the Calgary Rugby Union (9025 Shepard Road SE). A field map will be on display at Disc Central on game day. Please note the following regulations for CRU: Dogs are not permitted on site Please apply mosquito spray off the fields as it kills the grass Please warm up in the end zones and off the field to preserve the fields On-Site Services The team at The Calgary Centre for Health is excited to once again be part of the Calgary Ultimate Ho-Down & Slo-Down! They will be providing Chiropractic and Athletic Therapy services at no charge Saturday and Sunday between 1 and 4pm. Accommodation & Showers Free camping and showers will be available at the Calgary Rugby Union. Alcohol is not permitted in the camping area. Friday Night Welcome Party at CRU Join us Friday night from 6 pm onwards for drinks, snacks and pre-tourney partying in the CRU clubhouse. Saturday Night Dinner & Party Dinner will be served in the big white tent starting at 6:00pm. Jim Kili and Hats & Black Ties will provide live music during dinner. DJ Will Ranson will provide ample tunes for dancing, singing and all that jazz after dinner until the wee hours of the morning 3 of 6

4 Play some ever popular cups on our large cups pitch Beer Pong, Bocci and other drinking games to keep the competition alive. There will be a midnight hot dog cart starting at 11:30pm. $5 gets you a spolumbos sausage, hot dog or smokies & a drink EXTRA PARTIERS: Extra tickets for the party only (non-players) can be purchased at Disc Central all day on Saturday: $20 for dinner, party and beer; No substitutions, no exceptions. Fundraisers: Attention Party Goers, make sure you bring some extra money: Calgary's Women's ultimate team Wild Rose is going to be selling Jello Shots at the party. Pricing is 2 for $5 or be the life of the party with 8 for $20, cash only, so empty out your piggy banks. DJ Will Ranson is honored to be representing Calgary as part of Team Canada co-ed heading to Japan next week and will be collecting donations to support his trip. Please bring some change to support him! Food & Water Field food will be provided all weekend as well as a catered dinner Saturday night. There will be water for refilling water bottles at the fields. We are also very excited to have the Calgary Food Trucks on site Sunday from 12-4, so make sure to bring some cash to get some lunch at the Red Wagon Diner, Perogy Boys or Shogun Grill. And save room for dessert from Snoberry Ice!! On Field Emergencies In the event of an on-field medical emergency, or if medical assistance is required, please notify the Site Coordinator/Disc Central. We have transportation available if required and can help coordinate external help if required. Please Don t Drink and Drive Please camp at the party and then you won t have to worry about getting home. Want to camp but don t have a tent? We have a tent setup for the dinner, after the dinner you can crash in the tent for the night. If you do need to go somewhere, please don t drink and drive. Please take a cab.
