We already have 2 trips in the books for this season. Big Snow I had a bus load skiing at Indianhead and Blackjack. Weather and snow conditions were great. We also had a good-sized group travel to Ischgl, Austria and Budapest. Based on the photos that were shared on social media, everyone had a wonderful time. Sam should have a report in next month s newsletter. Our February meetings are Wednesday the 6th and 20th. Feb. 6th is our Pre-trip informational meeting for Big Snow II. Our meetings will be held at THE BAR at 2435 W. Nordale Drive, on the corner of Lyndale and Northland Ave in Appleton. Socializing at 7 pm., formal meeting starts at 7:30 pm. The Bar does offer a full menu if you what to eat dinner before the meeting. Many of our members do take advantage of this option. I encourage you all to attend to hear about our trips and the trips of Gelandesprung Ski Club. We have a reciprocity agreement with them so if you are a member of either club, you can also go on the other club s trips. TRIP UPDATE. 10 Honorary Lunar Winner modeling her prize Big Snow I - Wrap-Up 2019 Trip Leader: Randy Zurbuchen Another great start to the New Year and a way to see if all the ski gear you got for Christmas or last year still worked!!! We picked up 50 people in Green Bay and Appleton for the trip up on Lamers bus. Al, our friendly driver, was on the spot. Earlier in the week, Michigan received 8 inches of fresh snow which created a good ski surface. Saturday many people skied Indianhead. After skiing, people enjoyed the Sky Bar music, watching NFL playoffs, swimming, and/or hot tubbing. The Indianhead dinner staff did a great job on the dinner. After dinner, people had a chance to listen to the band at Dudley s bar. On Sunday, people went to Blackjack to enjoy the nicely groomed surfaces. After a full day of skiing, we loaded and headed home. On the way home, to ease congestion at a fast food place, we called ahead to Culvers and they handled the food quickly and tastefully. After nominations, the Lunar award went to an individual who had a slight problem identifying the appropriate container for pouring hot syrup on the breakfast pancakes. (Note: It does not look like the coffee decanter!!) Roads were clear and we made good time coming back home. FRIENDS OF FOXES REWARDS 2018/2019 FRIENDS OF FOXES REWARDS program benefits the existing members and builds the membership of our club with new members for the enjoyment and benefits of organized group rate discount ski trips, other club sponsored functions and most of all the camaraderie.
