The fi rst was Big Snow II. It was a huge success. Thank you Micca and Jacob, They did an awesome job running their fi rst trip. Details in this newsletter on page 5. Gelandesprung had their trip to Searchmont, Ontario. Mike reported that the trip went smooth. The snow was great and they are looking forward to going again. This year has produced some of the best snow of the past several years. I hope everyone has been able to get out and take advantage of the powder. Thank you to Jeff and Joan for coming in last Wednesday (meeting) and presenting to our group. They shared a short presentation on hemp oil and topicals. They shared some samples and answered as many questions as they could. CLUB LEADERSHIP for the Season. We are always looking for VOLUNTEERS to contribute their time, ideas, skills and efforts to keep the club/ party going. February 20 we began the process by taking nominations for next season s offi cers. That includes all offi ces: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. So step up and help keep the club keep on skiing. It is a very rewarding, fun and educational experience of how the club operates! Our March meetings are Wednesday the 6th and the 20th. On March 6th we will be continuing our nominations for offi cers. We would like to add at least 1 candidate per offi ce per meeting until the time we vote. Thanks in advance for the members who accept the nomination for an offi ce of our club. March 20 will be our pre-trip informational meeting for Breckenridge, CO. That night we will also nominate and vote for our offi cers for the next ski season. Our meetings will be held at THE BAR at 2435 W. Nordale Drive, on the corner of Lyndale and Northland Ave in Appleton. Socializing at 7 pm., formal meeting starts at 7:30 pm. The Bar does offer a full menu if you what to eat dinner before the meeting. Many of our members do take advantage of this option. SPRING BANQUET SATURDAY APRIL 13TH HOLLANDERS Pub and Grill in Little Chute (Lower Level). This will be our Spring Banquet and induction of officers. Note that it is on a Saturday this year instead of Friday. Sign up now. Details in this newsletter on page 5. SMSC Trip Seminar will be May 18, It will be at the Sheraton Chicago O Hare Airport Hotel in Rosemount. More details to follow. See you on the slopes Bruce

Everything went smoothly as we arrived at Indianhead Resort and received our room keys and lift tickets.

After skiing, people listened to music at the Sky Bar, went to the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We had a delicious dinner of prime rib and chicken cordon bleu.

Sunday morning, we ate a great breakfast and loaded the bus to head over to Powderhorn without a hitch!

Deb Bramschreiber put together an amazing lunch for us at the wine hut on the hill of chicken chili, cookies, Gluehwein wine, and more.

6 Big Snow II - Wrap-Up 2019 Trip Leader: Micca Belke Happy 90th Birthday Bill Smith! Another great Big Snow trip! We had 39 people attend the trip and had a pleasant drive up on the Lamers bus with plenty of food and drink. Everything went smoothly as we arrived at Indianhead Resort and received our room keys and lift tickets. Indianhead Resort had some issues with their boiler so rooms were on the cold side! Saturday started off at a chilly -17 F with great ski conditions at Indianhead/Blackjack. After skiing, people listened to music at the Sky Bar, went to the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We had a delicious dinner of prime rib and chicken cordon bleu. And a big thanks to the dinner staff for getting out the plates quickly! For those that weren t tired, they went to the bar for drinks and music. Sunday morning, we ate a great breakfast and loaded the bus to head over to Powderhorn without a hitch! Powderhorn had great conditions for skiing with another chilly start to the day. Deb Bramschreiber put together an amazing lunch for us at the wine hut on the hill of chicken chili, cookies, Gluehwein wine, and more. The Hennings also contributed some of their own factory made cheese curds! Powderhorn management did a fabulous job of assisting us in getting supplies to the wine hut and shuttling people up to it on snowmobiles. Once the lifts closed, we loaded up the bus and almost lost a person due to a faulty head count! The "Lunar Award" was rewarded to the almost left behind individual, Jim Steber. Jim received a four-leaf clover light up necklace so we wouldn t lose him the next time. We were able to stop in Minocqua for a quick dinner at Culver s which went impressively fast. Our Lamers bus driver did a fantastic job navigating the slippery road home. Overall, a fun weekend!
