1 38 YEARS AND STILL GOING DOWNHILL. Gelandesprung Gazette October 2007 Are you ready for some skiing? Hello everyone. I am going to make this short and sweet so you can get to the good stuff, trip info. It is getting close to say let s go skiing. Thru a lot of work from a lot of people I think we have a good year of skiing planned. I am asking you to get your trips picked out and get signed up as soon as you can. Reasons are, that you not get left out because the trip is filled up, second it is a big help for the board and trip leaders to make arrangements. Also don t forget the Early Bird discount, it can save you some cash. Early bird discount ends Dec.1. Besides you may have some fun. Remember the Banff trip only has 50 spots. DON T WAIT. Something to remember, sign up for all Gelandesprung trips opens on Oct.5. Hope to see you at the banquet, Oct.5. Sports Corner, 6:00 PM. I have been getting some feed back as to the web site, we are working on it. If you need any info as to trips go to the newsletter, there is a link on the web. If that can t be done, call me The Zeller s Open House is on Nov.1. First general meeting will be at Sports Corner, Dec.18, we will be going over the first two trips at that meeting, Marquette day trip and Big Snow I. Hope to see everyone there. Come on out even if you are not going on the trips. Maybe have some more of that fun. This is the perfect time to tell a friend about the club, they can get signed up on some great trips right away. As always I say this is your club, if you have any questions or concerns give me a call. See you at the banquet. Your president. Carl Williquette Trip Sign-up Begins Oct. 5th Early Bird Special Ends Dec. 1st If there is something you would like in the newsletter please submit it to me by the 20th of the month. Thank you! My address is: mollysteffens@hotmail.com Yak-skiing: Played in India, a person on skis holds a bucket of nuts and is attached to a yak by a long rope. The rope connects to a pulley on a hilltop, with the yak near the top and the skier far below. The skier rattles the bucket loudly to infuriate the yak, which then charges down, yanking the skier rapidly uphill. (Inventive, no?) Box Green Bay, WI Fall Golf Classic Saturday, September 15, 2007 The day was sunny and a little cool and breezy. We played at Royal St. Patrick's Golf Course this year. This is a links style course. The course was in great shape. The golfing gods were good to us again this year for both Spring and Fall Golf Outings. We had only 9 players this year. This is the lowest number of golfers for the Fall Golf Outing. Don't know if it was a bad date, too much money or people just didn't like the course. The team of Sam Fontaine, Deb Bramschreiber, and Kevin Klasen had Low Score of 2 Under Par 70 to take honors as the Low Round of the Day. Kevin Klasen won the Closest to the Pin for the Men and Terry Jeffers won the Closest to the Pin for the Ladies on the 19th Hole. Ron Quick won the Obtuse Award for almost hitting the threesome in front of them, fishing for golf balls on about half of the holes that had water, and doing the Fairy Dance (ask Ron to demonstrate the dance). After Golfing, we had Pizza and adult beverages and socialized. Everyone was talking about the upcoming ski trips and who going on which trip. I hope everyone had a good summer. It is now the time to start to think about getting the Skiing/Snow Boarding Legs into shape for the up coming Ski Season. Kevin Klasen
