In its fi nal ACC road contest of the regular season, the fi fth-ranked Duke women s basketball team (26-1, 16-0 ACC) will travel to Coral Gables, Fla., to play Miami (18-9, 9-7) on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. The contest will be played at the BankUnited Center. Thursday s game will be aired live on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air. Due to the confl ict with the Duke men s basketball game, it will not be aired on the radio. The contest will also be aired live with video on Following the Miami contest, Duke will return home to fi nish out the regular season against North Carolina on Sunday, March 3 at 4:00 p.m., on ESPN2. It will mark senior day for Allison Vernerey. Duke claimed its fourth straight ACC regular season title on Sunday with the win at No. 8 Maryland. Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes... Duke will close a two-game road trip at Miami on Thursday. The Blue Devils have clinched the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament and will play at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 8 in the quarterfi nals against the winner of the No. 8/No. 9 seed contest. Haley Peters crossed the 900-point and 500-rebound mark this past week as she owns 904 points and 514 boards in 90 games. Elizabeth Williams has blocked at least one shot in every collegiate game she has played - 60 straight, which is a new Duke record. It broke the previous record of 55 held by Alison Bales in Dating back to high school, Williams has blocked a shot in 78 straight games as she closed her H.S. career with blocks in 19 consecutive contests. The Blue Devils have to close the regular season playing four of the top fi ve ACC teams, including two games on the road. Duke played back-to-back ranked opponents (FSU/Maryland) for the fi rst time this season. Richa Jackson has averaged 8.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals over the last three games. She has hit 47.6 percent from the fi eld. Duke has registered 26 victories this season marking the 15th straight year with 25 or more wins. Duke has notched at least 10 league wins for the 16th straight year. In ACC games only, the Blue Devils lead the league with a 49.6 scoring defense, 33.1 fi eld goal percentage defense, three-point percentage (40.5), three-point fi eld goal percentage defense (24.2), blocked shots (T1st, 4.8), turnover margin (+4.7) and tied for fi rst in assist/turnover ratio (0.9). Duke is averaging 75.8 points this season, which is the most for a Blue Devil squad since with an 86.0 ledger. The most for a Coach P squad in her previous fi ve years was 75.2 in After holding Virginia Tech to 33 points on Feb. 14, head coach Joanne P. Duke s 17-game winning streak in Cameron Indoor Stadium ranks sixth-best in the NCAA as far as current streaks. The Blue Devils have won an ACC-record 38 straight games in Cameron Indoor Stadium against ACC opponents. Duke has not lost an ACC contest at home since Maryland posted a win on Feb. 17, Coach P is 40-2 at home against ACC opponents in her six years at Duke. Tricia Liston had her streak of 18 straight games with at least one three-pointer come to an end at N.C. State on Jan. 3. Miami enters Thursday s matchup with an overall record of 18-9, after falling Feb. 24 to Georgia Tech, The Hurricanes have recorded a 9-7 mark in conference play, but own a 6-2 record in ACC contests played in Coral Gables. Morgan Stroman (12.9 points, 8.4 rebounds), Stefanie Yderstrom (12.2 points, 1.3 rebounds) and Shawnice Wilson (9.0 points, 7.8 rebounds) lead the way in scoring for the Hurricanes this season. Head coach Katie Meier is in her eighth season at the helm of the program and fi nished the season with a 26-6 record, as well as a 14-2 tally in ACC play. Meier was named the Associated Press National Coach of the Year - sharing the award with Connecticut s Geno Auriemma and Stanford s Tara VanDerveer. The Series with Miami... Duke and Miami will meet for the 11th time in program history with the Blue Devils owning a perfect 10-0 record. The Hurricanes have hosted the Blue Devils four times, with Duke winning by an average of 8.5 points per contest. The two teams met earlier this season with Duke handing Miami its biggest loss of the season (84-43), as well as the largest margin of victory in series history (39). Head coach Joanne P. McCallie has tallied a 6-1 all-time record against the Hurricanes, and has not lost to Miami since Dec. 28, Blue Devils Versus Miami... In three career games, Haley Peters has averaged 12.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals against the Hurricanes. She has notched double-fi gure scoring in all three contests, while pulling down eight boards in the last game. Elizabeth Williams owns averages of 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists in two contests. Freshman Alexis Jones turned in a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in her only meeting versus Miami earlier this year. Gray to Miss Rest of Season with Injury... Head coach Joanne P. McCallie announced on Tuesday junior point guard Chelsea Gray will miss the rest of the campaign due to a right knee cap dislocation that requires surgery to repair, following a MRI on Monday, Feb. 18. No time table for her return has been set. A native of Manteca, Calif., Gray suffered the injury at the 8:01 mark of the fi rst half on Sunday, Feb. 17 against Wake Forest. She had started 59 straight games for the Blue Devils, including all 25 contests this season. Gray, an All-America selection as a sophomore, was averaging 13.1 points, 5.6 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 steals prior to the injury. She was leading the ACC in assists and steals, while ranking in the top 10 Blue Devil Game Notes 2

The 5-11 guard was having one of the best all-around seasons in Duke history and was presented with a souvenir ball prior to Sunday s game for reaching the 1,000-point plateau against Maryland on Feb. 11. She became the 10th-quickest player in Blue Devil history to reach 1,000 points in only 90 games. Blue Devils to Face Alum... Duke will battle former Blue Devil All-America Katie Meier for the 10th time as a head coach on Thursday. Meier, who is in her eighth year as Miami s head coach, also faced the Blue Devils on Nov. 29, 2001, when she was at the helm of Charlotte, and the last eight years as the Hurricanes coach. In the contest versus Charlotte, Duke won in Charlotte, N.C. Meier, who ranks fi fth on Duke s all-time scoring list with 1,761 points, was inducted into the 2002 Hall of Honor. She was the 1986 ACC Rookie of the Year and Basketball Yearbook Freshman All-America. She was a letterwinner in 1986, 87, 89 and 90 for the Blue Devils. Duke Claims ACC Regular Season Title... For the fourth straight year, Duke claimed the ACC regular season title on Sunday with its victory at No. 8 Maryland. Duke tied an ACC record with its 16th league victory and equaled the best start in ACC history. Only three other teams in league history has reached the 16-win mark -- Duke in & and Virginia in The Blue Devils claimed the outright ACC crown for the second straight year. In the history of the ACC, Duke leads the league with 12 regular season titles with Virginia (11), Maryland (5), N.C. State (5), UNC (4), Florida State (2), Miami (1) and Clemson (1) owning the other championships. Duke has actually won 12 out of the last 16 ACC regular season titles. Freshman Alexis Jones was selected the ACC Rookie of the Week on Monday by a vote of the Blue Ribbon Panel, after nearly registering a triple-double at No. 8 Maryland on Sunday with 15 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. The honor for Jones marks the second time this season she has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week as the 5-8 guard received honors on Nov. 26 as well. Jones averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals this past week as she helped lead Duke to wins against two ranked opponents. Jones took over the point guard slot for junior All- America Chelsea Gray this week following a knee injury sidelined Gray for the remainder of the season. In one of the biggest stages of her young career on Sunday in front of over 15,000 fans at Maryland, Jones posted a career-high 15 points, dished a careerhigh nine assists and pulled down eight rebounds in a career-high 36 minutes. Jones nine assists ranks as the tied for sixth-highest single-game total by a freshman at Duke. Against 19th-ranked Florida State, Jones posted six points, four assists and three steals. Defense, Defense, Defense... Duke s 50.6 scoring defense is currently the best in ACC history with the next lowest of 51.4 by the Blue Devils in It also currently ranks seventh nationally. Wells Off the Bench... Junior Chloe Wells came off the bench against Florida State, after starting the previous eight contests. Wells notched 15 points and tied a season-high six steals in 30 minutes, while draining 4-of-5 treys. Wells turned in a career-best performance at 11th-ranked North Carolina on Feb. 3 as she connected on 6-of-7 three-pointers and fi nished with 18 points. Her 18 points and six three-pointers made were both career highs. Wells became the 12th player in Duke history to hit six or more three-pointers in a single game. She missed a school-record three-pointers made by one, which is seven held by Jessica Foley and Nicole Erickson. Wells now leads the ACC with a 53.1 three-point fi eld goal percentage on the season, hitting 26-of-49 treys. She has drained 6-of-11 treys the last four games. On the Road... Duke owns an 11-1 record this season in games on the road with the lone loss at Connecticut on Jan. 21. Elizabeth Williams leads the Blue Devils with averages of 15.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals. The Blue Devils are hitting 47.2 percent from downtown in those contests. Over the last four road games, Duke has averaged 74.5 points, hit 47.2 percent of its fi eld goals and 50.0 percent from three-point land - against UNC, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland. Knee Injuries... With Duke losing Chelsea Gray to a knee injury on Feb. 17 during the Play4Kay contest, the injury happened a little over a year after the Blue Devils lost Richa Jackson to a torn ACL on Feb. 15, 2011 against Virginia Tech in the Play4Kay game. After hitting 12 out of her last 20 three-point fi eld goal attempts, Tricia Liston once again moved back to No. 1 in the nation in three-point fi eld goal percentage at a 50.4 clip. Liston matched a career high against Wake Forest with fi ve three-pointers on seven attempts. She has notched 10 games with three or more treys and 18 with two or more three-pointers. She has moved into seventh place on Duke s all-time three-point fi eld goals made list with 144. She needs 15 more to move into a tie for sixth. Liston also owns a career-best 59 treys this year and is only nine away from matching the Duke singleseason record of 68. From Downtown... Duke leads the nation with a 43.2 three-point fi eld goal percentage. The next highest ranked team is Penn State (39.7). The highest three-point fi eld goal percentage in school history came in with a 40.6 clip. The ACC record for highest three-point fi eld goal percentage in a season is 42.6 by Clemson in The Lady Tigers hit 55-of-129 treys. Sophomore Elizabeth Williams is feeling much better and her play is showing on the court. Over the last fi ve games, she is averaging 17.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.4 steals and 1.4 assists. In ACC games, Williams ranks fourth in scoring (16.2), 11th in rebounding (7.6), fourth in fi eld goal percentage (53.8) and fi rst in blocks (2.7). No Senior Starters... Duke boasts only four starts this season by its lone senior on the roster -- Allison Vernerey. The four starts this year ranks as the second-fewest in the ACC behind Clemson, who has started zero seniors. In teams ranked in the top 25, the Blue Devils own the second-fewest senior starts behind Louisville, who has zero. Liston Nets Honors... Coming off leading Duke to an victory over Wake Forest with a career-high 29 points, Blue Devil guard Tricia Liston was named the espnw National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week on Feb. 18. Liston came off the bench on Feb. 17 against WFU and turned in the best game of her career, after Chelsea Gray went down with a knee injury. A product of River Forest, Ill., Liston scored nine of Duke s fi nal 13 points to lead the Blue Devils to the victory over Wake Forest. With Duke leading with 3:07 left, she drained her fi fth three-pointer of the day to put the game out of reach for the Demon Deacons. In the contest, Liston also pulled down nine rebounds, hit a career-high 8-of-9 free throws and her fi ve three-pointers made tied a career high. She scored 21 of her 29 points in the second half. Duke registered a 3-0 record on the week with other victories over seventh-ranked Maryland and a road win at Virginia Tech. Liston averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists. She hit 8-of-13 threepointers for a 61.5 percentage. On Feb. 11 against No. 7 Maryland, Liston scored 17 points, had six rebounds and two steals as Duke took down the Terrapins, Point Mark... ACC Wins Under Coach P... Since Joanne P. McCallie took over the reins at Duke in , the Blue Devils have amassed the most ACC and overall wins in the league. School ACC Overall Off the Bench... Tricia Liston scored a career-high 29 points off the bench against Wake Forest on Sunday, Feb. 17, which is a new school record for most points scored by a Duke player off the bench. The previous high was Nicole Erickson s 28 points on Jan. 14, 1999 against Clemson. 20 Wins Once Again... With Duke s victory at UNC on Feb. 3, Duke registered its 16th consecutive 20-win season and the 18th out of the last 19 years. Head Coach Joanne P. Oderah Chidom, Kendall Cooper and Rebecca Greenwell have been named to the 20-member WBCA All-America Team. The 22nd annual All-America game will be played on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the New Orleans Arena, site of the 2013 NCAA Women s Final Four. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m. (CT). The trio were also named to the McDonald s All- America team and will all represent the West team. The game will be played on April 3 at 6:00 p.m., on ESPNU. Duke signee Rebecca Greenwell notched a national women s record on Monday, Jan. 14 as she drained 17 three-pointers in a win over Whitesville Trinity High. Greenwell, who plays for Owensboro Catholic High, hit 17-of-28 three-pointers and fi nished with 51 points.
