Looking to notch her 100th career victory, Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie and the third-ranked Duke women s basketball team (17-0 overall, 3-0 ACC) will host Georgia Tech (16-4, 4-0 ACC) on Friday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The contest will be aired live on RSN-TV, which will be shown on Fox Sports South, Comcast Mid-Atlantic and SunSport (Direct TV 656/DISH 447) with Rich Waltz (PXP) and Stephanie Ready (Color) calling the action. Fans can also catch the game live on the Blue Devil Sports Network, which will be aired live on 620 AM, with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air and on McCallie currently owns a overall record at Duke and is looking to post her 100th career win with the Blue Devils in only four years. Duke looks to continue one of the most dominant streaks in the conference as the Blue Devils have won 31 straight games against Georgia Tech. The Blue Devils also own a 17-game overall winning streak in Cameron Indoor Stadium, which ranks tied for ninth nationally. The Blue Devils have now won two games shooting under 30.0 percent from the fi eld against top 10 ranked opponents -- Kentucky (26.1%) and Xavier (26.8%). She hit her third career three-pointer at Florida State, while notching 15 points. Liston is averaging 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists over the last three games. She matched a career high with three treys and 15 points at Florida State. She has hit 14-of-33 three-pointers on the season for a 42.4 percentage. Third-ranked Duke received 29 points off the bench on its way to downing Virginia Tech, 57-43, on Sunday afternoon in Blacksburg, Va. The Blue Devils were led by junior Allison Vernerey with a seasonhigh 15 points along with 13 points from freshman Tricia Liston and 12 points from senior Jasmine Thomas. Duke led at halftime, but missed its fi rst eight shots after halftime while Virginia Tech scored six straight points to get within seven. Thomas ended the dry spell with a 15-footer, sparking a 9-0 run, and Duke led by at least 10 thereafter. Thomas scored 12, and was happy to see Vernerey and Liston pick up some scoring slack on a day when Krystal Thomas and Karima Christmas combined for eight points. The Blue Devils, coming off three consecutive victories against ranked teams, used an early 16-2 run to open a 20-6 lead. Thomas started it with a foul line jumper and added a 3-pointer, and Liston also hit a 3-pointer and a fastbreak layup in the spurt. Shanel Harrison led the Hokies with 10 points and Alyssa Fenyn had nine. After Thomas jumper got them on the scoreboard after halftime, Liston hit a pair of free throws, fellow freshman Haley Peters scored inside and Liston hit a 3-pointer, capping the 9-0 run that gave Duke a advantage. McCallie notched her 400th victory on Monday, Nov. 15 against Southern California. In her 19-year coaching career, Coach P has totaled a record. McCallie became the 43rd Division I coach to reach the 400-win mark. A Look at the Exhibition Games... In the two exhibition games for the Blue Devils, Duke won against Wingate and downed Carson- Newman, Senior Jasmine Thomas led all scorers with a 19.5 per game average, while dishing a team-best 11 assists. A total of six Blue Devils averaged double-fi gures -- Kathleen Scheer (16.5), Karima Christmas (14.0), Tricia Liston (12.5), Chloe Wells (12.0) and Krystal Thomas (11.5).
