Coastal Shag Club Members and Friends - Come on out on Saturday night, October 15th to our Halloween Shag Dance at the Moose Lodge in Shallotte from 6:30 10:00 pm. So grab your favorite costume and join in on the fun! During the evening, we ll hold our annual Costume Parade. Prizes will be given for the following categories Most Original, Scariest, Funniest, and Sexiest Costumes. We ll select a panel of judges to select our winners at the dance. If you would like a Basic Shag Dance lesson, please ask at the door and you ll be paired with a member couple. Our DJ will be the fantastic Roy Childress. Be sure to request your favorite songs we ll see you on the dance floor! Don t forget your shaggin shoes! Join us on Sunday, October 16 th at the Oyster Festival in Ocean Isle Beach for our annual shag contest. Along with our event co-sponsor, the Society of Brunswick Shaggers, we ll hold the shag contest will run from 1:30 3:00 pm. Registration begins at 12:30 pm. Couples can compete in one of the following divisions Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced. Prizes will be awarded to the winning couple in each category. Chili s gives back to our Club 10% of our food & beverage purchases. Please refer to the newsletter to print a coupon. The money we receive helps to fund our various charities throughout the year like Brunswick Senior Resources, Brunswick County Foster Children, and Mooseheart. As a reminder, the November Thanksgiving dance will be our re-up dance. An updated membership application can be found in this newsletter.
