1 St Louis Imperial Dance Club The Original Imperial Dance Club in St. Louis Swingin Times Well, this is the most unusual spring ever. The 1 st of April was not only Easter Sunday, but it was April Fool's and Mother Nature certainly did play a trick on us. Our April Dance theme was Gone to the Dogs. Jim Bedrosian was our DJ and Gail Planer and Bill Breithaupt provided an Intermediate Swing moves workshop. We had asked that our dancers provide items for the Humane Society. Well, as usual, the dancers came through in providing various items for our fur babies. SLIDC would like to thank everyone for their kindness. Our May Dance theme is our Flower Power Dance. We are asking that our dancers bring seeds and bulbs for a Flower Power exchange. We tried this last year and everyone not only enjoyed the dance, but when the dance was over we had no seeds or bulbs left. So, it seems our dancers love to garden. Our workshop, which is at 7PM will be the Country Two Step and will be taught by Joe Ott and partner. Our DJ for this evening will be Willie Braswell. The June Dance is to Honor our Veterans, the workshop will be taught by Pat Gangemella and Chuck Kamprad and they will be teaching Intermediate Swing moves. Our DJ for this dance will be Jim Bedrosian. July's theme is America the Beautiful and we also will have as guests alumni from Ritenour High School. Our workshop will be taught by Tammy Dolan and David Todd. Our DJ will be Harold Martin. Save the date 20 October St. Louis Imperial will be the St. Ann Community Center on St. Charles Rock Road. We will be celebrating 45 years of existence. If you note our Newsletter says we are the original dance club in St. Louis. This will be a dinner dance catered by the Detour Bar and Grill in Imperial, MO. (Just a note the food is excellent). Tickets are now availabe and we will be selling them soon. The cost is $ We will also sell tables for $200 (seats eight). We also will be having our Halloween Dance at this time with prizes for the best costume. Keep an eye out for our advertisements. Federation News We just received word from the IRS that the Federation has had their 501(C)7 status reinstated. Words cannot express our thanks to Bobbi Steinkeuhler for the many hours she expended to make this happen. Thank you, Bobbi! ABA News The next ABA Cruise for 2019 occurs February 23 thru March 2. The islands visited will be St. Thomas, St. Martin and Princess K. Currently, the request for nominees for the ABA Hall of Fame is now closed.
