1 St Louis Imperial Dance Club The Original Imperial Dance Club in St. Louis Swingin Times Well here we are in the last quarter of Our October Dance was held on the 21st of October and was our Halloween Dance. In spite of a snafu where we learned that a rumor went thru the dance community that our dance was cancelled, we had a fun time. Our costume contest was really fun and people were very creative. Our first place winner was Patty Culver -she dressed as an old woman; our second place winners were George Scott and wife Sharon, dressed as Dr Love and Nurse; and third place was our club's Vice President Rusty Sullivan she came as Bette Midler's character in Hocus Pocus. Our DJ for the evening was Cory Johnson and she kept the dancers on the floor all evening. A thank you to George and Sharon Scott for the beautiful cake provided for the evening. In September, we celebrated our 44th Anniversary. Jim Bedrosian kept our dance floor full until the end. Take a look at some the pictures from the dance later on in this newsletter. We want to thank our Honorary Members for attending. We had videos of competitions in the past when our club was young. And, we had photo albums of our past dances. Our Dance for November will be on the 18th of the month. We will be collecting toys for the Marine's Toys for Tots and also for Project Ark. A member of the marine corp will be at our dance to collect the toys and also we will collect toys for Project Ark which will be donated to children that are infected with AIDS. So please come out and help us make Christmas a little brighter for the children. Our DJ this month will be Harold Martin and George Scott and Jan Altman will provide a super swing moves workshop. St. Louis Imperial will celebrate our Christmas Dance on the 2nd of December and our DJ that evening will be Jim Bedrosian. Federation: New Year's Eve and HOF dance 30 and 31 December 2017 will be held at the Renaissance Hotel again this year. The HOF Dance tickets are $10.00; however, if you buy a NYE ticket you will not pay the $ Tables around the dance floor are limited they have sold fast. American Bop Association: Our own Doug and Linda Eskew of the St. Charles Imperial Dance Club were inducted into the ABA Hall of Fame in Louisville, KY during Boogie in the Bluegrass. The 14th Annual Dancin' on the High Seas (ABA Cruise) is February 10 thru the 18th of Islands to visited are Aruba, Bonaire and Curaco. Djs on the cruise are Bud Waters (ABA President St. Louis) and Larry Huff (Birmingham, AL) and Gary (Jacksonville). At this time there are 290 individuals signed up. Their Mission was to operate and maintain a not-forprofit dance club, to teach people to dance and use all profits as contributions to charity.
