1 August, Livingston Piecemakers Quilt Guild THE PATCHWORK GAZETTE Livingston Piecemakers Quilt Guild Volume 21, Issue 5 Jeanie Noble, Editor August 2015 President s Corner Cut Ups I don't know about you but my design wall is full of little strings and bits of fabric. After searching for a way to get rid of all that I found a great tip. FREEZER PA- PER! Yep, freezer paper. Here's what you do. Cut a nice size piece and pin (just to hold it down) it to your wall and run your hot iron all over it. Shiny side down. Dull side to the outside where you place the iron. You only need to pin it the first time, after you iron it will lie flat. When you peel back the paper after ironing, all the little thread bits will have stuck to the shiny side of the paper. BAM! A clean board. You can reuse each piece of freezer paper and just reposition it on the new area you are cleaning. Karen Editor s note: If your design board or wall is made of batting, the freezer paper will adhere to it and will NOT pull off! First Vice President s Place Hope this heat is not getting the better of you. At least we can retreat to our sewing projects! I know I enjoyed Andy's lecture and inspiration on crazy quilting. There is just not enough time in the days to do all we want. Remember we have a 5th Monday workshop - Ruler revolution table runner. Jeanie has a supply list added to newsletter. Questions just call me. Sept. Meeting will be our Challenge reveal. Miniature is the theme. Quilt room diarama, shadow box. Can't wait to see what our minds have come up with. Just let it be quilt related, please. We will play a few games, laughing and having fun with friends. Bring (5) 2 1/2" strips for one of the games, please. Also, bring finger foods. Until then stay as cool as you can and enjoy our quilting life. Jammie Donation Quilt Blocks HOSTESS SCHEDULE Bees are needed to take turns hosting to welcome our new members and guests each month.
