1 Winter Sport TERM #SVPSfortheWIN #LittleLegends 1
2 Message from Coach K What a start to 2016 it has been. Term 1 has flown past, and we cannot get enough of the phenomenal sport that is taking place day in and day out. Both the Waterpolo Tour and the Tennis Tour were hugely successful. The U13A Waterpolo Boys and Girls shone at the festival and came back as the top teams. Recently, the girls were crowned as WP Waterpolo Champions - AMAZING. The Tennis Tour was a wonderful experience for all involved. It was so encouraging to see our youngsters really standing up and showing GRIT against the top tennis schools around. It has been excellent to see so many students participating and competing in tennis this term. The Cricket results have been quite amazing once again. Playing against the very top level cricket schools is no easy feat yet every single team has produced an outstanding level of play. Many A teams are UNBEATEN. This year, there has been an A, B and C Team in every age group. What a feat! The Zonal Gala was a very special moment for me, as after many years, to watch a gala of the highest calibre take place at our very own 10 lane pool with music blaring, kids dancing and AWESOME swimming taking place, well, that is a dream come true. Our boys and girls coming SECOND overall just put the icing on the cake. Our Athletics Team were busy this Term with countless Zonal Meets taking place. Our boys and girls WON the Athletics Championship which took us to the top of the Co-Ed Athletics scene. The countless Waterpolo, Cricket, Swimming and Tennis Festivals happening on our doorstep every Friday have been hugely successful and have served as yet another way that our standard of sport has gone strength to strength. In Term Two, we look forward to Mid-Week Hockey Matches against our rival schools. We look to exciting Netball, as we hope to TOP the leagues in every single age group. Cross Country will continue to flourish and we cannot wait to host another big event. Rugby Saturdays will be in full flight against the best rugby schools in the Cape. Soccer for both boys and girls has become hugely popular and our goal to be the number one Soccer Team in the league stands. We will set goals, we will show Passion and Perseverance and we WILL achieve success. Yours in Sport Brad Keller 2
