2 Club Hours and Information Clubhouse Food Services Pro Shop 7:30am-8:00pm, Tuesday-Sunday 11:00am-6:45pm, Tuesday-Friday & Sunday 7:30am-6:45pm, Saturday 7:30am*-7:00pm Tuesday-Sunday * Tee Times begin at 8am Pool 10:00am-8:00pm Tuesday-Sunday Please keep our dress code in mind for the golf course, range & the club house Collared shirts and golf shorts or pants are required. Please note our policy while there is lightning nearby. For the safety of our members and their guests, when lightning is within a 5 mile radius, the siren will sound letting everyone on the premises know that the course and pool will be closed at that time. Everyone must leave the course and pool area once the siren has been sounded. The clubhouse is your safe haven. Thank you for your cooperation. Jeans, cutoffs, gym shorts, and tee shirts are not allowed. Tennis shoes and golf shoes with soft spikes are appropriate. A no cell phone policy is encouraged in the clubhouse. For the new members, we welcome you and look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone. If you are looking for groups to play with, I will do my best to determine personalities, abilities, and what you are looking for on the golf course. If you are looking to play in tournaments, we have a full slate of events that can be found on the website or in the locker room. All events have net & gross winners and we have a Handicap Committee that works to ensure all member handicaps are accurate. I am happy to answer any questions or to assist you in any way. 6 Golf & Club News Fridays! Join us on Friday nights in June for! From 6pm-8:30pm, there will be a themed buffet along with half priced drinks! There will be a drawing for a $100 credit towards membership dues and a drawing for a Senior Club Championship Congratulations to Phil Pavoni & Richard Mixon on their victories for claiming the titles of Sr. Club Champion & Super Sr. Club Champion Brickyard Management is happy to announce that the greens will not be aerified as scheduled on June 4th & 5th. They will be aerified in July,2019. Enjoy the wonderful playing conditions this summer!! The next Shootout will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 4PM. There will be ten 2-man teams. See the Pro Shop if you are interested. 5

7 Golf News & Events From The Golf Course Superintendent I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer temperatures; this means that our Bermuda grass is finally growing in. We are in full swing with the weekly maintenance program for the greens. This entails verti-cutting, double cutting, topdressing, and brushing/rolling. Most of this work is done on Monday to minimize disruption of play. The mowing height of the greens has been lowered and our program will keep them smooth and in optimal playing conditions. Many small projects have been completed on the course such as cart path repairs, tree removal, new sod planted, new tee markers and flags/flagsticks. Work continues on more necessary improvements. As the membership grows, the cart traffic increases, so please be very mindful of the 90 degree and Cart Path Only rules. Please do not cross the white lines adjacent to the greens. I hope to see everyone out enjoying the course. 8 Dues Payment Policy Payments on membership accounts are due by the 10th of each month. Club News Any unpaid account at the end of each month will incur a finance charge of 1.5% of the total balance due and a $25.00 late fee will be billed to your account. If accounts are 60 days past due, the club shall suspend the members charging privileges. If accounts are 90 days past due, the club has the right to terminate the membership There is a policy that No Personal Coolers are allowed. If you like to enjoy beverages while you are on the course or at the pool, the Club will provide you with a Brickyard cooler at no charge. Please do not bring any alcohol onto our premises. The Brickyard Management Let s Make It Interesting Check out these options for playing games within your group Skins Sixes/Round Robin In a foursome, you change team partner on every 6 holes. Each 6 hole rotation is a separate bet That is the total points awarded on every hole & each point has a monetary value. For threesomes, each player wins something on every hole. The low scorer gets 5, next lowest gets 3 and the highest scorer gets 1. A skin is low score on a hole, but the fun part comes with ties. That s when the skin for that hole carries over to the next & can be won in combination with that hole s low score. Nassau Only 3 bets in this game; low score on the front 9, low score on the back 9 & low total score. The Nassau bet can be as much as you want, but $2 is popular. This game is high reward for low risk. 7

The club will be meeting Tuesday, June 19th at 5:30pm. It is open to all Brickyard members!! In Liza Mundy s prodigiously researched and engrossing new book, Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II, she describes the experiences of several thousand American women who spent the war years in Washington, untangling the clandestine messages sent by the Japanese and German militaries and diplomatic corps. At a time when even well-educated women were not encouraged to have careers much less compete with men to demonstrate their mastery of arcane, technical skills this hiring frenzy represented a dramatic shift. The same social experiment was simultaneously unfolding on the other side of the Atlantic. The British debutantes and their middle-class peers recruited to work at the secret Bletchley Park code-breaking operation came to outnumber the men. 8
