After being loaded, Courser became fractious and reared. The mare underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 12.36pm resulting in a slight delay to the start of the race. Trainer Mr Anthony Sexton was advised the mare must perform to the satisfaction of Stewards in a jump out prior to racing again and Mr Sexton advised the mare would now be spelled. 3 Rider Regan Bayliss reported Chenery Meadow failed to handle the synthetic track conditions. The winner, Petrov, was retained on course three hours post race in order to obtain additional samples to be collected from the gelding. Race 2 - GROWLERS RESTAURANT 3YO MAIDEN PLATE metres: At the request of rider Michael Walker, Time Commands underwent a veterinary examination behind the start and was passed suitable to race. Malibu was slow to begin then shortly after was tightened for room between Count Cosmah and Aux Armes, that shifted in resulting in Malibu clipping heels and losing ground. Count Cosmah over-raced in the early stages. Aux Armes laid inwards in the straight. Gamora was held up rounding the turn and until approaching the 200m. It was noted upon straightening Gamora was inconvenienced by Count Cosmah that shifted in before being corrected. Race 3 - HAYDEN REAL ESTATE F&M MAIDEN PLATE metres: Avoid The Rush was slow to begin. Amberley and Slinky Malinky bumped on jumping away. Lets Skedaddle over-raced and got its head up when being restrained to obtain cover in the vicinity of the 1000m. When questioned regarding these tactics, rider Michael Walker confirmed it had been his intention to obtain cover. Bolshoi Belle raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Rider Jason Lyon reported when the tempo eased mid-race, the mare commenced to over-race and lay out. Hammering Home commenced a three wide run passing the 800m to improve its position. Race 4 - WYNDHAM TORQUAY MAIDEN PLATE metres:

4 Prior to correct weight Dean Yendall, rider of Guilty As Charged, third placegetter, lodged an objection against Haut Chapeau, first placegetter, alleging interference near the 250m. On the evidence it was established that Haut Chapeau shifted out and made contact with Guilty As Charged near the 250m however Stewards could not be fully satisfied that the interference suffered to Guilty As Charged was greater than the final margin between the two horses at the finish of the race and were also of the opinion that approaching the finish that Haut Chapeau was in fact drawing away from Guilty As Charged, therefore the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared. Connections advised High Africaine would be ridden more forward today. High Africaine led the field and was ridden accordingly. Connections advised Guilty As Charged would be ridden forward today from the wide gate. Guilty As Charged settled in a position one out and one back and was ridden accordingly. Yakama Chief and Chaparrally both commenced awkwardly. Roman Aspect raced wide through the early stages before initially obtaining a position outside the leader. When questioned regarding the gelding, that performed below market expectations, rider Katelyn Mallyon reported Roman Aspect pulled too hard in the run and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slower than normal recovery. Near the 1600m Tropez had to be steadied and shifted outwards to avoid the heels of Nutbush (NZ) before commencing a four wide run and taking the lead passing the 1100m. Approaching the 1300m Takoda, that commenced to over-race, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Commanding Lad and in doing so shifted in making contact with Yakama Chief unbalancing that gelding Passing the 1300m Guilty As Charged improved its position three wide before then settling in a one out one back position near the 1100m. Bounce Trap Goal raced four wide from the 1000m. Nutbush (NZ) raced wide throughout and hung out rounding the turn. When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, rider Regan Bayliss reported the filly currently lacks a desire for racing. Approaching the 200m Takoda had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of Bounce Trap Goal. A post race veterinary examination of Commanding Lad failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 5 - FRONT BEACH CAFE BAR RESTAURANT 0-58 HANDICAP metres: Capsized was slow to begin. On jumping away First Draft was tightened for room between Capsized and Bon Jovail that shifted out. Dean Holland, rider of Sommelier Pete that performed below market expectations, reported the gelding travelled well behind the leader however failed to finish its race off and was disappointing. Steven King added Call On Kevin may be best ridden with cover in future. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted upon Dandog, that settled outside the leader, rider Katelyn Mallyon explained it had been her intention to settle in a one out one back position with cover, however after beginning well and when not challenged, she ultimately settled further forward.

6 Race 7 - SURF COAST TIMES TORQUAY CUP BM64 HANDICAP metres: After arriving on course Mystery Black, which has not raced since April 2014, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Connections advised Invincible Miss (NZ) would be ridden more mid-field with cover today. After being slow to begin Invincible Miss (NZ) settled last. When proving difficult to load, Mystery Black reared and hit its head and was subsequently a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 4.10pm which delayed the start of the race slightly and trainer Mr Tom Hughes was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction in one jump out and one official trial prior to racing again. Celestial Century was held up from the entrance to the straight and until inside the 200m. Approaching the 100m Tonalli had to be eased to avoid the heels of Black Fusion (NZ) that shifted out. Race 8 - COAST SCAFFOLDING BM64 HANDICAP metres: Island Bar and Just Ranger were both slow to begin. The Princeling was held up from the 400m until shifting out to obtain clear running passing the 200m. Matthew Allen (The Princeling) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that approaching the 200m he carelessly permitted his mount to shift out when being ridden along when not sufficiently clear of San Carlos (NZ) which was steadied to avoid his heels and taken out off its course into the line of Platinum Ruler which was hampered. 7 had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight May 26 th and to expire at midnight June 3 rd, a total of nine race meetings (one metropolitan, eight provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Matthew Allens guilty plea and that the incident was in the low range. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted upon Polkaface, rider Roger Booth explained he led as per instructions and highlighted he had led on the gelding previously. Roger Booth added Polkaface did not relax as anticipated due to Shintaro, to his outside, over-racing. Jake Duffy, rider of San Carlos (NZ) that performed below market expectations, could offer no explanation for the gelding other than to suggest San Carlos (NZ) may not have been suited by the synthetic track conditions and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Jess Payne rider of Platinum Ruler stated she was left flat footed then the pace quickened. A post race veterinary examination of Platinum Ruler revealed the gelding to have slight muscle soreness behind. 8 R7 - Showmya Miss Supplementary reports Mornington, Wednesday May 20 th 2015 Race 4 - BAYSIDE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP HANDICAP metres: Me Hungi - trainer Mr Geoff Daffy has advised that the gelding has pulled up without any issues, but will be now be spelled. Race 8 - LE PINE FUNERALS HANDICAP metres: Shakudo - the stable of trainer Mr Darren Weir reported the gelding had pulled up a little short in front and has been sent to Warrnambool for beach work before continuing its preparation. Ballarat, Thursday May 21 st 2015 Race 6 - CITY OF BALLARAT BM64 HANDICAP metres: White House Lady - trainer Mr Tony Noonan advised that the filly pulled up with slight muscle soreness in her hindquarter, but will be continuing on with preparation. Mr Noonan will endeavour to remove the tongue tie from her next start. Race 7 - HYGAIN SHOWCASE BM64 HANDICAP metres: Pantuo (NZ) - the stable of trainer Mr Darren Weir have advised that the gelding has pulled up satisfactorily and they will continue on with the preparation and they will add a tongue tie and a cross over noseband for its next start. Thursday May 21 st 2015 Stewards attended Flemington trackwork and conducted a stable hand audit and obtained sixty-three human samples from trackwork riders and jockeys.
