Battle Zone (NZ) Held up from the entrance to the straight before shifting to the inside of Sloane Ranger passing the 200m. Tessabelle Settled outside the leader. Performed below market expectations. Rider Stephen Baster reported the mare felt uncomfortable in its action in the straight. Trainer Mark Kavanagh advised Tessabelle will now be sent for a spell. Lost its off hind plate during the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Strategic Jeuny Near the 200m when improving, was obliged to steady off the heels of Tortured Poet which had commenced to give ground. Dean Yendall was notified to exercise far greater care in future. For Lulu Commenced awkwardly getting its head up. Performed below market expectations.
