Just one exemplification of this is the achievements of Rick Hennig, his crew and his yacht, Denali. Over the past several years, Rick and his crew have not only represented the Racine Yacht Club in style, but with incredible results. In last month s Reef Point, Tony Herrmann recapped many of the sailing victories Denali and her crew have accomplished in recent years. Rick and his wife, Laurie, have attracted and retained dedicated crew to keep these kind of performances the norm. In today s sailing scene, finding boats, crews and skippers willing to travel is not easy. We do have others that are making that similar dedication to travel to other regattas either by trailer or delivery. From Mark Rode s Raised by Wolves, Fred Stritt s Hasten, Paul Tobias Dangerous Liaison, Amy and Rick Cermak aboard Moon Johnson s Challenge, Rob Jossart s Navigator and others, RYC sailors are keeping the sport alive. Back to Club business: October brings the haul out of our boats for another off-season and our Fall Yard and Dock day. Contact Jack Landwehr or Mark Lukow to handle any tasks that need to be done either on that day or at another time as your schedule allows. Take the time to be part of our Club and keep it looking beautiful. Stay involved by coming to our general membership meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month, and remember, food is graciously served after the meeting. Stay tuned to our announcements as I am sure that Kurt will have something to keep you entertained through the colder months ahead. Visit the Club during our expanded service hours for Taco Tuesdays, Wild Wing Wednesdays, and Build your own Burger Thursdays! Eddie, keep the great food coming. Keep those shorts on! Remember it is always tropical in your mind! Gregg Henning, Commodore Racine, Wisconsin Denali, One of RYC s Traveling Success Stories Welcome to RYC, Fall! Welcome fall and October! Many thanks to Laurie Hennig and Borzynski s Farm & Floral Market for answering the last minute call to create our welcoming entrance in time for the Preservation Racine Tour!
