And we ll have a sneak peek at a planned Half Moon Bay Yacht Club trip on the Star Flyer January 12, 2014 for 7 nights from Costa Rica to Nicaragua. A representative from Star Clippers will be on hand to answer questions. Star Clippers operates three of the world s largest and tallest sailing vessels. Visiting ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and offering passengers the activities, amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht, Star Clippers is recognized as one of the premier specialty cruise lines. 7 BAY TIDES PRESENTATION AT THE BAY MODEL Kame Richards is giving his popular "How the Tides Work for You" presentation at the Bay Model in Sausalito on February 19 and 23.

Kame is a very experienced racer and sail maker. He gives a great talk and demonstration using water flowing in the bay model. Cruisers, racers, kayakers, sail boarders, and all water lovers can learn the nuances of tidal flow in San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate. Londerville Regatta Saturday was a lovely day for a race, sunshine and a light breeze, building through the day. 7 enthusiastic C15 teams gathered, some of the regular faces and many new ones! Congrats to Grayson Capers (aged 13) who helmed Ron's boat very well and to Gemma McCluney (aged 10) who crewed for her dad Richard in their newly acquired boat! Also, welcome to Claire Sheehan and Marc Arsenault who joined the C15 fleet for the first time. Sadly, the day was shortened due to a mechanical malfunction with the chase boat - however, three very close races were held in the morning and this looks like it is going to be a very fun and competitive year for the C15's. Thank you to the Race Committee - Richard Calabrese, Heather Sprague, Kay Burns, Terri Lahey, Hannah Tuson-Turner and of course Terry Ramseyer for the loan of La Boheme as Race Committee Boat.

Last year, we hosted the Catalina 22 Nationals right after the regatta, this year we hope to have more one design sailors participating. There is a great steak dinner on Saturday night with a live band and dancing under the stars. We have a raffle with prizes that sailors will appreciate. The dates are June 8th and 9th at Scotts Flat Lake in Nevada County. There is camping available at the lake and lots of hotels and motels in both Nevada City and Grass Valley.
