Information that doesn t change (Notices, Voyager Services and helping organizations, as well as the Season Calendar of Events) is now available in the Voyager Info Guide rather than being repeated in the Compass each month. Stop by the Activity Office to pick up a copy. VEHICLE STICKERS To obtain your vehicle stickers, complete a new Access Vehicle and Device Information Form at Registration. Bring your name badge along with vehicle/golf cart descriptions, license plate numbers, gate cards and remotes. This allows security to update your info in the gate access system. NEW VOYAGER/BAY PHONE SYSTEM The Voyager/Bay phone system is moving away from landlines, and will no longer offer free in-park calling. Residents have two options - your personal cell phone or a Verizon phone box that works like a landline. The Verizon box is 25/ month - 30/month includes calls to Mexico and Canada. If you sign up now you can keep your Voyager number. If you wait you will be given a new phone number. To sign up, complete a form at Registration or call Ashley Ferrin at RHODA S BACK! If you ve been at Voyager for a decade or two, you ll see a familiar face back in the mailroom. Rhoda Nantkes, who ran the mailroom from 1998 to 2008 and returned last season as a volunteer, has come out of retirement. She believes the mailroom is in existence to serve the residents, and has already expanded hours as a convenience to us all. She has initiated other changes that keep things running smoothly and efficiently, but is quick to point out she doesn't do this alone. She has two part-time employees and of course her greatly appreciated volunteers that make it all possible. If you re relatively new to the resort, you ll be pleasantly surprised at Rhoda s warm and welcoming attitude. (Unless she has her I AM Smiling T -shirt on.) Stop by soon and say hello. November 4 will be special because: That day will be the first Worship Service of our Winter Chapel season for That day will be the first time our Worship Services begin at 9:30 am! That s right, Church will be starting 10 minutes earlier but with all the special things happening in our Worship Services this season you won t want to be late!. That day is traditionally All-Souls day and we will be honoring those who have gone on before us. And, that day will mark the beginning of a new chapter in history as I start my service as the new Pastor of the Voyager Chapel. November 11 Veteran s Day will be special because: An Honor Guard from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base will be Presenting the Colors to open our service. Then, the Old Arizona Brass Band (a.k.a the 4 Cavalry th Band) will presenting a patriotic musical tribute to America and to those who have served our country. Plus, our own Voyager Chapel Choir will be joining with the 4 th Cavalry Band in the presentation of two special God & Country musical numbers! Then, both Sundays November 18 and November 25 our focus will turn to Thanksgiving and the blessings we enjoy here at Voyager and as members of the family of God. Once again this year, services will be held in the Voyager Ballroom. Each Sunday our time together will feature the singing of favorite hymns from the past, newer praise choruses, stirring instrumental music, special vocal ensembles, our grand Chapel Choir, and a time of study and challenge from the Word of God. I m looking forward to the rich fellowship that comes from being a part of the Lord s family and the Voyager Chapel family with you.
