The Tigers host the Yankees Tuesday, August 26 at 7:08 p.m., Wednesday, August 27 at 7:08 p.m., and Thursday, August 28 at 1:08 p.m., thus marking Jeter s final regular season visit to Detroit in his illustrious 20- year career. The on-field pre-game ceremony will take place at 6:45 p.m., and fans are encouraged to be in their seats early. Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners Saturday, August 16, 2014 Comerica Park, Detroit, MI Game Time - 7:08 p.m. EDT RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers lost the series opener to the Mariners 7-2 on Friday night at Comerica Park. Miguel Cabrera led the Tigers offense, going 2x3 with a run scored and two doubles. Victor Martinez was 1x4 with a RBI, while Ian Kinsler also drove in a run in the loss. Rick Porcello started for Detroit and took the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, on 10 hits with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. The Tigers and Mariners play game two of their three-game weekend series tonight. Following this weekend s series and an off day on Monday, the Tigers hit the road for a seven-game trip, which includes three games at Tampa Bay and four games at Minnesota. DIRKS TO BEGIN INJURY REHAB TODAY: Outfielder Andy Dirks is scheduled to begin an injury rehabilitation assignment with Triple A Toledo tonight. In his previous rehab assignment with Single A West Michigan, Dirks played in five games and hit.214 (3x14) with two runs scored and one double. He has been sidelined since March 29 with lower back surgery/microdiscectomy. DUELING ACES: Tonight s pitching matchup features a pair of former Cy Young Award winners.
