Detroit posted a season-high 18 hits in the victory with all nine Tigers starters recording at least one hit. Victor Mar nez had a fourhit performance with three runs scored, a double, a home run and two RBI, while Nick Castellanos was 3x4 with a run scored, a home run and three RBI. Jus n Upton also had three hits in the win, while Miguel Cabrera added a solo home run, his fourth of the season. Michael Fulmer made his major league debut and earned the win a er allowing two runs on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts in 5.0 innings. FULMER EARNS THE WIN IN HIS MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT: Michael Fulmer made his major league debut last night and recorded the win a er tossing 5.0 innings with two runs allowed on seven hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Fulmer struck out Brian Dozier in the first inning for the first strikeout of his major league career. With the win, Fulmer became the 41st Tigers pitcher since 1913 to earn the win in his major league debut and the first since Kyle Ryan on August 30, 2014 at Chicago (AL). VMART HEATING UP: Victor Mar nez had four hits in last night's game with three runs scored, one double, one home run and two RBI in last night's win. The fourhit performance was the 16th of Mar nez's career and the first since July 6, 2015 at Sea le. Mar nez has now hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games. Over the last 13 games, Mar nez is ba ng.353 (18x51) with eight runs scored, six doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI. MIGGY MOVING UP THE MLB ALL-TIME HOMERS LIST: Miguel Cabrera blasted his fourth home run of the season last night, hi ng a solo shot in the fi h inning. Victor Mar nez had four hits, while Jus n Upton and Nick Castellanos each had three hits. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the third me in the last 10 seasons that the middle three hi ers in the Tigers star ng lineup each had at least three hits in the same game. The Tigers hi ers each had at least three hits on May 25, 2012 at Minnesota and July 8, 2014 at home vs. the Dodgers. HOMER HAPPY: The Tigers hit three home runs in last night's game to give them 28 home runs through the first 22 games of the season. Detroit's 28 homers ranks fourth in the American League. The Tigers 28 home runs are the most they've had through the first 22 games of a season since 2006, when they had 32 homers. JUSTIN WILSON EXTENDS SCORELESS STREAK: Jus n Wilson threw 1.0 scoreless inning with one walk and two strikeouts in last night s game. Wilson has started the season by not allowing a run in his first 11 appearances, a stretch that spans 10.0 innings. Wilson has given up just seven hits, walked two and struck out 14 in his 10.0 innings. Wilson s 11 consecu ve scoreless appearances to start a season are the most in his career.
