Also, for the third consecu ve year, players will wear specially-designed caps to raise awareness and funds for the fight against prostate cancer. The caps are light blue with a team color brim. MLB will again donate all royalty payments from the sales of specialty caps and apparel to the Prostate Cancer Founda on and Stand Up to Cancer. RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers extended their winning streak to four games as they defeated the White Sox 7-5 on Saturday a ernoon at Guaranteed Rate Field. Nicholas Castellanos belted a pair of homers in the win and ed a career-high with five RBI, while Victor Mar nez added three hits. José Iglesias drove in the game-winning run with an infield single in the eighth inning. Making his first start since May 5, Jordan Zimmermann received a no decision a er tossing 5.0 innings and allowing four runs on four hits with four Buck Farmer picked up the win for the second straight day, pitching a scoreless inning, and Shane Greene threw a perfect ninth inning for his 19th save of the season and his fourth in as many days. The Tigers and White Sox conclude their three-game series this a ernoon. Following this weekend s series in Chicago, the eight-game road trip con nues with two games at Cincinna (June 19-20) and three games at Cleveland (June 22-24). NICK THE STICK: Nicholas Castellanos hit a pair of home runs in yesterday s game, hi ng a three-run shot in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fi h inning. The performance marked his fourth career mul -homer game (last, August 22, 2017 vs. New York (AL). Castellanos also notched his fi h career five-rbi game (last, August 9, 2017 vs. Pi sburgh). Castellanos added a single in the ninth inning for his 12th three-hit game of the season, which is the second most in the Majors, trailing only Sea le s Jean Segura, who has 14 three-hit games. EASY BEING GREENE: Shane Greene pitched a scoreless ninth inning yesterday to record his 19th save of the season, which ranks fourth in the American League. With yesterday s save, Greene became the first Tigers closer to earn four saves in four days since Todd Jones from June 30-July 3, 2000, and the first Major League closer to do so since Milwaukee s Jeremy Jeffress from July 28-31, 2016 (h/t Elias Sports Bureau). Greene has successfully converted each of his last nine save opportuni es and has not allowed a run in 10 of his last 11 appearances. NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE: Joe Jiménez worked a scoreless eighth inning with one strikeout yesterday. Jiménez has not allowed an earned run in 17 of his last 18 appearances, pos ng a 0.52 ERA (17.1IP/1ER) and 24 strikeouts during the span. For the season, Jiménez ranks ed for second in the Majors with 37 appearances, while he ranks ed for fi h among American League relievers with 13 holds and sixth (min innings pitched) with a 2.10 ERA (34.1IP/8ER). TIGERS TIDBITS: Victor Mar nez recorded his fourth three-hit game of the season yesterday. Mar nez is hi ng.303 (10x33) over his last eight games...buck Farmer picked up the win for the second straight game yesterday. He became the first Tigers pitcher to earn a win on back-to-back days since Kyle Ryan, who did so on June 22-23, 2016 vs. Sea le. TIGERS AND WHITE SOX: Detroit is 7-1 against the White Sox this season, including a 5-0 record at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Tigers current five-game winning streak in Chicago is the longest for the club since August 14-September 19, 2010, when they also won five in a row. Detroit went 9-10 against the White Sox last season, marking the first me the Tigers have lost the season series to Chicago (AL) since CENTRAL FOCUS: The Tigers are against American League Central opponents this season. Detroit has gone 7-1 vs. Chicago (AL), 3-7 vs. Cleveland, 3-3 vs. Minnesota and 4-6 vs. Kansas City.
