In the opener, the Tigers ed a season high with 13 runs and set a season-high with 20 hits. Nicholas Castellanos had four hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs, while Miguel Cabrera also added four hits, including three doubles, and two RBI. Jeimer Candelario scored five runs and went 3x6 with a double, a home run and a RBI. Daniel Stumpf struck out one in 1.1 scoreless innings to pick up the win. Shane Greene worked a perfect ninth inning for his fourth save. In the second game, Leonys Mar n homered and drove in two runs, while Nicholas Castellanos added a hit and a RBI. Ma hew Boyd started for Detroit and took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 3.2 innings. The Tigers and Pirates conclude their three-game series today. Following today s game, the six-game road trip con nues this weekend with three games at Bal more (April 27-29). MIGGY MOVING UP THE MLB ALL-TIME RBI LIST: Miguel Cabrera had two RBI in the first game of yesterday s doubleheader and now has 1,629 RBI in his Major League career, passing Harold Baines (1,628) for 30th place. Mar n became the first Tiger to homer in both games of a doubleheader since Don Kelly on October 1, 2010 at Bal more. Mar n also homered in back-to-back games for the third me in his career (last, May 18-19, 2016). STREAKING: James McCann had a pair of hits, including a double and a solo home run, in the first game of yesterday s doubleheader to extend his hi ng streak to seven games. McCann is ba ng.357 (10x28) with six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and five RBI during the streak. MIGGY VS. NOVA: Miguel Cabrera has had success in his career against today s Pirates starter, Ivan Nova. Cabrera is hi ng.353 (6x17) with a double, a home run and four RBI in his career against Nova. Fulmer posted a homerless streak of 73.2 innings during the season.
