Nick Castellanos finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 3x5 with two runs scored, a double, a home run and five RBI, while Ian Kinsler also had three hits and scored three runs. Cameron Maybin also scored three runs and was 2x4 with a two-run home run. Michael Fulmer started for Detroit and picked up his ninth win of the season, throwing 6.0 innings and allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts. The Tigers con nue their 11-game road trip tonight as they begin a four-game series at Toronto. NICK'S POWER SURGE: Nick Castellanos belted his 16th home run of the season yesterday, hi ng a threerun shot in the fi h inning off Josh Tomlin. Castellanos' 16 home runs are a single-season career high, bes ng the 15 home runs he hit in Castellanos also drove in five runs in yesterday's game, tying his career high (last, August 19, 2015 at Chicago (NL)). KINSLER GETTING ON AND GETTING IN: Ian Kinsler went 3x4 with three runs scored in yesterday's game. Kinsler has now scored 71 runs this season, which ranks third in the American League. Kinsler's 71 runs scored are the sixth most for a Tigers player before the All-Star break in franchise history and are the most since Miguel Cabrera scored 73 runs prior to the All-Star break in Kinsler's three hits yesterday marked his 32nd mul -hit game of the season, which ranks ed for sixth in the AL. MIGGY NEARING 1,500 RBI: Miguel Cabrera had two RBI in yesterday's game and enters tonight s game two RBI shy of 1,500 RBI in his major league career. Cabrera is looking to become the 55th player in major league history to reach 1,500 RBI. FULMER EXTENDS IMPRESSIVE STREAK: Michael Fulmer improved his record to 9-2 yesterday, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Fulmer has now allowed one earned run-or-fewer in nine consecu ve starts, which is the second-longest streak by a Tigers pitcher since 1913, trailing only Doug Fister, who had 10 consecu ve starts from August 20, 2011-May 12, Fulmer is one of only 11 MLB pitchers since 1913 to have at least nine straight starts with one earned run-or-fewer allowed. FULMER PICKS UP WIN NO. 9: Michael Fulmer recorded his ninth win of the season yesterday. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Fulmer is the third rookie in franchise history to win at least nine games before the All-Star break, joining Mark Fidrych in 1976 (9-2) and Jus n Verlander in 2006 (10-4). Both Fidrych and Verlander won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in those seasons. TIGERS TIDBITS: Kyle Ryan threw a scoreless inning in yesterday's game and has not allowed a run in his last seven appearances, tying the longest streak of his career (also, September 27, 2015-April 21, 2016)...The Tigers turned two double plays in yesterday's game and have now turned 90 double plays this season, which ranks second in the American League, trailing only the Texas Rangers (108). CABRERA SELECTED TO AMERICAN LEAGUE ALL-STAR SQUAD: Miguel Cabrera was selected to the American League All-Star Team through the player ballo ng. The selec on marked the 11th career All-Star selec on for Cabrera and his seventh as a member of the Tigers.
