UPTON, VERLANDER EARN SEPTEMBER HONORS: Jus n Upton and Jus n Verlander have been selected as the Tigers Player and Pitcher of the Month, respec vely, for September. Upton hit.307 (27x88) with 18 runs scored, five doubles, 12 home runs and 27 RBI in September. Upton's 12 homers in September were the most by a Tiger since Hank Greenberg hit 16 in September, Upton led the American League with 12 home runs and a.773 slugging percentage in September, while he was ed for second with 27 RBI.
