RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers staged their largest comeback of the season last night, overcoming a fiverun deficit to defeat the Cleveland Indians, 9-8. Trailing 8-3 entering the bo om of the sixth inning, Detroit scored one run in the sixth and five runs in the seventh to take a 9-8 lead. Cleveland loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the eighth, but Daniel Stumpf struck out Brandon Guyer and induced a double play from Jason Kipnis to escape the jam. A er re ring the first two ba ers he faced in the ninth, Shane Greene commi ed a two-base error and threw a wild pitch to allow Rajai Davis to reach third. Greene then got Michael Brantley to ground out to short to secure the drama c come-from-behind victory. The Tigers conclude their three-game series against the Indians this a ernoon. JaCOBY JACK: JaCoby Jones led off last night s game with a home run, his first career lead-off homer and the second by a Tigers ba er this season (other, Leonys Mar n, April 25, 2018 at Pi sburgh (Game 1)). The homer was Jones third of the season, tying his single-season career high.
